If you are suffering from a lack of adequate stability it can lead to things like rotator cuff tears, tendinitis, or bursitis depending on what’s really going on in that shoulder. You have the ability right now to stop the progression of posture issues, shoulder pain, neck pain and so much more. • One of the most common injuries of the shoulder is impingement. This means that a structure (tendon) in your shoulder is being rubbed or pinched when your going through a specific range of motion ❌ You may have impingement if reaching overhead or behind you caused a sharp pain 😬🤕A great way to help treat this is by activating the muscles that help pull your shoulder back into proper position, and open space inside the shoulder joint such as the rotator cuff. • Complete each exercise 8-10 times. If you can, squeeze it in after your workday as well to fight poor posture and shoulder pain, youll feel a big change🤤🤤! Gently push until you feel tension then back off and repeat! A little different post than normal. You may have noticed that we use photos from @kenhub_official. We found their company on YouTube first, their content is out of this world. Check them out all you Movement and Anatomy nerds, especially the students. We reached out and asked if we could strike up some sort of partnership, if we could pay for rights to use their images in our courses and also when we post on social media. In a day where we are over and over seeing others steal content, it was important to us to make sure ours is always posted with permission. Almost always, our posts are applied anatomy. Not just origins and insertions but application to the fitness athlete or to movement in general. But this graphic and their description was too great to pass up. Needless to say @movement.physio learned our Cranial Nerves before the Harry Potter era. Read on for tips I use when I look at an abdominal CT... 👨🏽💻Coming into radiology as someone who was mainly concerned with what was going on above the diaphragm I found the world of abdominal CT fairly daunting. But by getting to grips with the anatomy of the abdomen things became a whole lot clearer 👨🏽💻At this level of the abdomen we get a nice demonstration of the superior mesenteric artery – we can’t see the superior mesenteric vein here but normally the vein should lie to the right of the artery at the level of the pancreas, if this is reversed then consider intestinal malrotation which can predispose to midgut volvulus 👨🏽💻I always check to see there is a clean layer of fat surrounding the SMA – if this is infiltrated consider a malignant pathology such as a pancreatic tumour 👨🏽💻Always follow the vessels no matter which CT it is you’re looking at, be it head, neck, chest or abdomen. I always follow the portal veins within the liver formed at the confluence by the splenic vein (which runs posterior to the pancreas) and the superior mesenteric vein which runs vertically. In patients with liver cirrhosis and pancreatitis in particular you are looking for a filling defect or occluded vessel representing thrombosis 👨🏽💻There aren’t many retroperitoneal structures that cross the midline but the left renal vein is one of them – characteristically this passes anterior to the aorta from the left kidney to the IVC but in some people this can have a retroaortic course where it passes behind the aorta. I have seen the occasional incidental left renal vein thrombosis so it is worth checking for filling defects! This is a must in cases of renal cell carcinoma which likes to spread into the IVC via the renal veins 🔻@theradiologistpage - @theradiologistpage on Instagram

Guarulhos continua a realizar teste rápido para Covid-19 A iniciativa tem por objetivo testar as pessoas que já tiveram contato com pacientes infectados pelo novo coronavírus. Aqueles que apresentam resultado positivo para Covid-19 são encaminhados para acompanhamento na Unidade Básica de Saúde onde são cadastrados. Até o final do mês mais quatro dias de mutirão serão realizados na cidade, todos eles das 9h às 15h. Nos dias 20 e 21, a testagem será realizada no CEU Pimentas, localizado na estrada do Caminho Velho, 351. E nos dias 27 e 28 será no CEU Presidente Dutra, situado no final da rua Maria de Paula Motta. Para fazer o teste no mutirão não é necessário agendamento prévio, basta levar documento de identidade e cartão do SUS. A única restrição é não estar com síndrome gripal no dia do exame. No entanto, as pessoas que já tiveram contato com pacientes infectados pelo novo coronavírus também têm a opção de agendar o teste rápido nas Unidades Básicas de Saúde. O agendamento deve ser feito de forma presencial.
