#6 🙏🏾☀️ **SWIPE** -- Im grateful I used my 20s to get into the best shape of my life to date. Out of everything I wanted my 20s to be, I can at least say this is one goal I actually accomplished. I learned a lot about not only myself, but how what started out as a fitness journey caused me to grow and inspire in ways beyond the gym. From being the girl that wanted to see her bicep pop anytime her arm bent like the boys did, to just wanting to lift a little between playing ball 🏀, doing only bicep curls and shoulder presses starting out in 2009 to avoid the Freshman 15, to fighting to regain all the muscle I lost in 2010 (2nd pic), to finally committing to building my legs (and inadvertently my butt lol) in 2014, etc. its crazy how Ive literally pieced this body together over the years as my goals evolved. . . . I cant say all of that to not say that I hate that Ive fallen off over the last 3yrs, but no matter how much I complain or beat myself up over it I will admit that going from 128lbs to 178lbs over the past 10yrs wouldve looked WAYYYYYY different had I not put in some serious work. The fact that Ive lost, gained, lost and gained over the years also helps keep my faith in the fact that Ive been there done that and have the skills to do whatever I want my body to do. 24 strict pull ups 61 kg 3RM no hook, no feet snatch 81 kg 3 clean + 1 Jerk Loooong post coming up: (TL;DNR: accept where you are and keep working for what you want without beating yourself up mentally!) Went home from training yesterday and felt it wasnt a good session. I was tired, drained and annoyed because I missed my 3RM snatch attempt at 71 kg and my complexes didnt felt perfect . Then I looked at my videos from the session and realized that Im an idiot thinking that way 😅. I did 2 PRs (video 2 & 3) and a shitload of pull ups, that most people would not even dream about doing in one set.. It can be tough being in competitive sport - you wanna do better every single day. Sometimes I get caught up in numbers and get annoyed with myself if the lifts feel different than I want them to and isnt perfect. Im working hard on not being to hard on myself and sometimes I succeed and sometimes I dont, but most inportant is that Im aware! So today I decided that yesterdays session actually was good - even though the no hook, no feet snatches was in front of me, even though I lost my back a little on the last clean and the jerk dip was bad and a looot of other things.. So why this long post?
