Looking back I feel so proud of how far I have come. When you stop and actually think about what youve made it through as a parent, instead of thinking about what’s challenging now or coming up ahead, it’s actually very liberating. The reactions to immunisations, hospital dashes with tonsillitis every few weeks with Indie... The time she had cold sores in her mouth that nobody could diagnose was probably the worst for me as a parent. I felt trapped. CMPA, reflux, 50,000 medicines and milks for Jude, hernias, a punctured lung, 3 hours of sleep a night, colic, witching DAY 😂 (no such thing as a damn hour), two babies at once, C-section, teething, leaps, IVF, severe sickness, HG scare at 7 weeks and preeclampsia, which was tough to say the least. The swelling, numb hands, bad vision, headaches and being told I needed to visit the opticians. Thank God I knew my body, as I just about prevented a serious seizure and it would have been a different story. Even though it was still a scary premature birth and I was very sick, I do think I still struggle with the birth, but writing helps.Anyway, I’m not saying I’ve had it bad by any means, but I am saying you should write down what you’ve achieved as a parent and person. I bet you’ll feel pretty proud of yourself and you’ll realise your gut feeling is always right.” Thanks for sharing your story @keriann_indie_jude. #repost @itstashhaynes: One is 18 months out, while the other is 18 weeks in 😍  What a privilege to have this picture of me, in real time, providing nourishment for two of my babies, both in and outside of the womb.     When Wisdom was born, I nursed for 2 years and was shamed by most of my family because no one before me had chosen to breastfeed and it didn’t make sense to them. With Courage, I have nursed for the last 18-months and I have served as a milk donor, helping to provide supplements for my girls and 3 other babies. Although I love the benefits of feeding in this way, so much more has come from my experience.     Growing up in foster care, without the nurturing of a mom and being completely detached from what it meant to be a mother, it was a very slow and hard journey for me to connect. The utter reliance that a baby has on you when you’re nursing taught me to surrender my own longings for a mom and to step into the role of being one.     Breastfeeding was and has been my saving grace.     I struggled so much those first couple of months as a mother, learning, healing and growing, but nursing quickly became my most cherished time with my children. It taught me what mothering was all about, an unspoken lesson that I needed so badly that could only come by experience and it has been instrumental in helping me to bond with my babies.   I can’t wait to meet #3 + to start this journey with them. - @womenirl on Instagram

Parents of 2 or more kids! I need to know, how well do your kids get along? DJ and Kennedy are 5 years apart and they have quite the unique relationship because they have such different personalities. Kennedy has the most vibrant, outgoing personality and she is full of energy and has PLENTY to say at ANY given moment, while DJ is literally the chillest kid ever and is as cool as a fan. (Trust me it wasnt always this way), so he and Ken definitely butt heads because he would much rather be left alone and Kennedy is your typical little sister. She demands the room and will NOT be ignored lol     These same personality traits trickle over to other areas of their lives like their personal style. DJ likes it easy peasy. The amount of selfies I have with them But barely any captured precious moments 🙈 😭 So here... a rare shot my two little ♡♡s SWIPE because that was what was really going on 😂 Mum of two boys... Now I know my mum of boys know exactly what Im working with haha...😳 Please dont expect my kids bottoms to be on their seats for longer than 5... Omg especially my Carter..... 🤸🏾‍♂️ I can absolutely see the different energy between the two of them. Are your kids different? Or similiar? Omg my carter (my eldest) had me staying out from 10am to at least 4pm everyday... We literally lived in the park whereas my jax actually likes more motorskill required activities... Still an out- doorsy boy but the difference in them both..... I actually used to chase Carter around to try & get food down him 🤣😳🙈 We also went through a stage (still do) where you need to literally split the TV in half because they both want to watch something DIFFERENT... Omggg🤪 and yes I am still making 3 meals at one dinner setting.. and yes Im still having a good cry into a pillow because I shout so much now... I never used to shout 😭😭😭😭😭 I hate this...... Boooo but Omgggg... 😳 Anyhow... Motherhood....♡♡♡ Your heart grows bigger, Your patience... Well how long is a piece of string.... ♡♡♡ Forgiveness... this has to be my biggest eye opener... HOW MUCH NIPPLE & BREAST PAIN IS NORMAL? This is the million-dollar question. Some moms are told that a little nipple pain is normal in the early days of breastfeeding – others are told it’s never normal and is a problem. The answer lies somewhere in the middle, though anytime you experience pain that is bothering you, especially if it is coupled with other breastfeeding concerns, you should feel free to address these with a lactation consultant or breastfeeding helper. In general, the rule of thumb is that if you feel a little tugging or pulling at the beginning of a breastfeeding session, but the pain seems to go away soon after your baby starts suckling, it’s probably nothing to be concerned about. However, if the pain is strong, long-lasting — and if it causes any nipple damage, it’s something that should be addressed as soon as possible. Bleeding nipples, cracked nipples, pinched nipples, and nipples that look like a tube of lipstick after they come out of your baby’s mouth could indicate a latching issue, and usually require some hands-on help or latching adjustments to fix. Keep in mind, though, that these sorts of problems are common and are almost always fixable with a little care and assistance.
