Van opgebrand naar vet verbrand...🔥 In april liep de emmer bij mij over en zat ik tegen een burn out aan. Het meest waardevolle telefoontje op dat moment was met Simion. Ik vertelde hem dat het even niet zo goed met mij gaat.. Zijn antwoord: ‘’Dacht ik al, kom maar snel hierheen, de bokszakken hangen klaar!”🥊 De maand mei gebruikte ik om alles op een rijtje te zetten. Ik had de keuze om ‘in de ring te blijven liggen of om op te staan’ en er sterker uit te komen.Ik koos voor dat laatste. Ik heb mijn persoonlijk en zakelijke doelen op papier gezet en concreet gemaakt! ✅ Vanaf 1 juni ben ik gaan knallen..zakelijk ben ik bezig mijn droom te volgen en privé heb ik gisteren mijn eerste doel bereikt. 🙋‍♂️ Dit persoonlijk doel was mij nooit gelukt zonder de onvoorwaardelijke steun en waanzinnige coaching van Simion en Walter. Met als middel een bijzonder efficiënt trainings- en voedingsschema (en de stok achter de deur die Walter heet) is het gelukt om binnen 6 weken van 80 kg naar 70 kg te gaan met daarbij een daling in vet% van 18,9% naar 6,2%.🥇 In al die jaren bij welke sportschool dan ook nog nooit gelukt dit te bereiken. En we gaan door! Aujourd’hui, c’est un cas très assez spécial car il s’agit de mon premier vrai avant/après en tant que coach et il est celui qui m’a donné envie de me lancer dans le coaching online. . J’aime beaucoup commencer par l’historique de la personne afin d’instaurer un contexte car c’est sur quoi chaque suivi devrait se baser. Un suivi ne devrait pas être un copier / coller dénué de sens. Nous sommes tous différents mais à la fois tellement similaires. . Une ancienne relation très complexe vis à vis de la nourriture (ancienne anorexique), une peur de l’aliment ommniprésente, une alimentation proche du 0 glucides. Cependant une motivation de s’en sortir qui pourrait rivaliser avec les plus grands de ce monde. . Le gros défi a été avant tout de lui faire introduire et accepter des aliments qu’elle s’était prohibée. La réintroduction a été effectuée progressivement. Le but était de lui montrer et de lui faire accepter que la nourriture n’est pas quelque chose de nocif pour le corps mais que c’est bel et bien un besoin. Nous avons procédé avec des jours sans glucides et des jours avec glucides. Des petites quantités pour commencer qui ont finit par augmenter avec le temps. . Autant dire que lorsque nous avons commencé à travailler ensemble, son métabolisme était complètement à la ramasse et extrêmement bas. La “remontée métabolique” s’est faite peu à peu. Ive been following a body building diet for a while to try and lose weight. I dropped a bit if weight, but my training has been average. I am not really sure what I need to change to help with my training. Having focussed on both body building and more strength/power based sports like strongman and rowing, I mapped out a bit of a comparison above to address this common question/scenario. Body building is a sport of aesthetics- how you look. Its a about building up as much lean mass as possible and systematically reducing fat mass to get as lean as possible for one day before presenting yourself on stage to be judged- subjectivity- in how you look. Its become increasingly popular to compete, and the dieting strategies range from total bro-science BS to smart evidence based approaches. Plenty of people achieve weight loss with the body building style of eating, and in some cases the approaches can also carry over into other sports quite well. However, I have also seen how mixing body building eating, striving to maintain the leaness (which is a unsustainable) with high intensity training ends in absolute shambles consisting of low mood, loss of interest in training, injury, impaired performance, drop in muscle mass, poor sleep and hormonal disruption. In short, if you are training at a high intensity, you need to prioritise energy intake first, before thinking about how you look. Most of the time body comp will improve without micromanaging it when you are training well, eating well, sleeping well and having a good time. If you change your training type or volume its a good time to review your nutrition strategies! As you can see in these photos I am a whole range of shapes and sizes, from scary skinny to bloated and puffy. I was OBSESSED with my body during this time and would chase happiness and worth by how I looked. 🔥THE TRUTH🔥 In NONE of these photos did I feel happy or worthy. #LongPost After being chubby all my life, I was finally able to lose some weight, and feel confident that it wouldn’t bounce back. Hope this post inspires you to eat right and stay active. I documented more in depth in my latest vlog on YouTube. Link in bio 🎦 . In short, health coaching helped me understand food better. It took a lot for me to post this but I believe we deserve to be healthy and learn what’s best for our body 🤯 .... [Quick summary] hired health coach @darrennnliu and in 4 weeks time, lost 5.5kg & waist down 3” . [Full story] July 5, I was utterly frustrated with my weight/body after my best effort to “Eat well and Exercise hard” during the quarantine period from April to June😤 . I figured I wasn’t doing it right so I decided to get real help from health coach @darrennnliu and prior to reaching out, I had been following his IG and his stuff made sense to me. . Fast forward to Aug 5, I am thrilled to say that my decision was 100% worth it (as seen in pictures). I have new relationships with food and exercise and in my eyes, it is also sustainable, not a so-called “diet” to lose weight fast and just to return to where we were before. I know we have all been there 😔 . Most importantly, I never had to starve in this program and always got to eat until I’m full. I don’t have to cut carbs, WHAT⁉️ . Biggest Takeaway: 1️⃣ Avoid vegetable oils & refined carbs/sugar 2️⃣ Consume quality protein, carbs & fats 3️⃣ Walk daily 4️⃣ 8 hours of quality sleep 🔽 and much more... . **warning long post ahead ⚠ ** I took the right photo today to see where my body was at, the left photo is me one month ago hitting my all time lowest weight 77.7 and the right photo is me today 78.6kg. Ive been within the same 2kg for the last 6 weeks and in the beginning it look such a toll on my emotional state,no matter what I do lately the scale doesnt move. Its taken weeks to finally accept and remember that every 10kg Ive lost Ive hit a plateau, this time its just lasted the longest,ive also started to really focus on toning my body and making weighted exercise a part of my daily routine atleast 4 times a week which is something Ive always been afraid of doing. At first seeing these photos side by side I was devistated because it seemed like the scales nor my body were changing but upon closer inspection the biggest difference I see is my arms and that makes me want to cry. For the longest time my arms have been one of my biggest Insecurities, my tummy hasnt gotten a huge amount smaller but its more toned and less flabby and even my legs have started to gain shape not look like chicken drumsticks. At first I hesitated but I share this in hope to help one other person understand that every journey isnt straight success or completely positive experiences, we all have down days or struggles and to remind myself of where I started and the mental change of accepting chasing a number is unhealthy and is unrealistic has been such a big turning point for me. Focus on the change in how you feel not solely how you look and what the scales say .
