A taste of living on the high seas off the West Coast Tasmania. 20 ish day trip, a whole bunch of Crayfish and barely a breath of wind, an incredible trip for Bilbo’s last ever. After 30 years finally hanging up the gumboots. 1. The last pot ever. Three 3kg bad boys 2. Pot cam as a couple of pots come up on the winch 3. Some pots come up empty, some have a cray or two, but it’s all smiles when they are this full! 4-5. Dolphins on the way back to the fishing grounds from King Island 6. The rare “fish” that occasionally swim into our pots at the wrong time 7. Offload day. The tanks hold 3000kg of crays. This is the top of four layers on each side. 8. The Pera. Home and the office. Named after a dutch exploration boat that came to Australia a little while ago. Dad built her nearly 20 years ago in a big shed in Portland. At the beginning of the year I told myself that I was going to start enjoying taking pictures again. So I bought two film cameras and a bunch of film. Theres something about taking a picture and developing it on your own that makes them a little more special. They may not have the best composition, the scans are pretty basic as of now, but theyre mine. From start to finish I had a hand in the entire process and I achieved what I said I would. All pictures were shot on both the Pentax 6x7 and the Mamiya RZ67 on Ilford HP5 Plus black and white film. - @imduhmeer on Instagram

Happy National Lobster Day! This is actually the final of TWO National Lobster Days! The first is in June. This is on account of Maine senators Collins & King deciding to change the date to September. However both dates are recognized. Did you know that the first recorded live lobster catch in the United States was in 1605? When European settlers arrived on the shores of Maine, lobster was so plentiful that it would wash up on the shores. Back then, it wasnt viewed as a luxury or gourmet ingredient and was often served to prisoners due to how inexpensive and plentiful it was. In all of the ways to enjoy Maine lobster, what is your favorite?
