I’ve been holding back on writing many zero waste posts because I am trying so hard to only share solutions that are accessible to ALL. After thinking about this for a while… I realized that by holding back posts like this one just because an option may not be accessible to EVERYONE, I might be missing an opportunity to help someone who DOES have access to this solution (who maybe isn’t aware that this is even an option) to remove this waste stream from their life. So here it is: —— This is our favourite #zerowaste toothpaste solution. We started using @rosecitron.ca natural toothpaste near the beginning of our #zerowastejourney 🦷 At first we were just #refilling his & hers jars at our local #zerowastestore & dipping our brushes into the paste instead of squeezing it out of a tube. Although this didnt really bother us, I started thinking about how this probably wouldnt fly with other people for varying reasons. My mother for example might be grossed out about dipping a toothbrush into clean paste & possibly having bacteria grow? 😬😅 ⠀ SO recently, we invested in a silicone refillable GoToob. WE LOVE IT. This tube can be washed in between toothpaste refills & hopefully used FOR YEARS (I actually havent looked into how long one of these tubes last but I’m hoping this could be the only toothpaste tube we need for the next 20+ years). Thats a ton of plastic waste prevented from ending up in landfills over the rest of our lifetime 🙌🏻 ⠀ Again, like I said, I know this isnt accessible to all of you BUT it might be for some of you & you may just not know it! ⠀ If you live in Ontario 🇨🇦 there are zero waste stores popping up all over the province. @nugrocery in Ottawa, @nickelrefillery in Sudbury, @refillerydistrict in Orillia & I just saw in @sustainable.suburbs story that the new @replenishgeneralstore in Aurora carries this Canadian made toothpaste in bulk!
