Today I got back in the groove with incline barbell bench press and then moved on to incline chest flyes. Did about 4 chest movements today and 4 shoulder movements and concluded with a seated dumbbell press as shown on video. Unfortunately only worked up to 130s on shoulder press since I was toast after everything prior. Tomorrow is an off day then we’ll be back in here on Thursday for some heavy back and deadlifts. ▪What has allowed me to make most of my gains over the past few months?⠀ ⠀ ▪Progressively overloading and not ego lifting. Basically, keeping perfect form on everything that I do while increasing my weight over time. Every lift that I was doing, I made sure I could feel the mind-muscle connection for whatever muscle I was trying to target. For example, on lat pulldowns, I used just to jerk that thing down, and I was barely feeling any type of contraction in my back. Now, I lower the weight to where I’m pulling with my back and not my arms to target my back more than my arms. ⠀ ⠀ ▪It’s the little adjustments I made that allowed me to progress forward and keep on progressing. Your cores main job is to provide stability for your spine. The muscles of your core can produce movement. However, more importantly, their job is to oppose or RESIST movement. . Being able to stabilize your spine is extremely important. Especially during big lifts like the squat or deadlift. 🏋🏻♂️We don’t want excessive rounding or hyper extension of the low back during exercises like that. That’s when injuries are more likely to happen.😫 . When people think of their “core” they usually just think “abs” BUT 🍑 your core includes all the muscles that attach to your pelvis! . ⁉️THE ANABOLIC WINDOW IS REAL⁉️😳 . . 1. This 2013 meta-analysis concluded that as long as daily protein intake is reached, it shouldn’t matter when you consume your protein. BUT 19 of the 23 articles were performed on untrained subjects (unlike the second one). It should also be mentioned that 20 of the articles did not have matched total protein intakes and compared protein supplement to a placebo, therefore, these 20 studies cannot justify the conclusion the article made. The 3 studies that didn’t do this had a total of 77 subjects, which would not lead to the statistical power which the article claimed with the 500+ subjects in all 23 articles. 2. The second article is from 2017 and concludes that the timing of protein consumption DOES matter when it comes to lean muscle mass loss on a cut. 16 trained young males were split into 2 groups. One of which had 28g of whey protein pre and post workout, and the other 28g of carbs. Body fat was lost in the protein supplemented group, but lean mass was lost in the carbohydrate supplemented group. All the previous research (almost general fitness knowledge now) confirmed that having a lot of protein while in a deficit is the best way to maintain lean body mass, however in both groups the subjects had a relatively high protein intake (according to current standards); at 2.6 g/kg in the carbohydrate group and 3.0 g/kg. It seems really unlikely that the 0.4 increase is responsible for preventing lean muscle loss. Which is how the article came to its conclusion that timing protein consumption around time of training will lead to less muscle loss. What’s the takeaway on all this? . If you are an individual who is well trained and are going on a cut, if you want to retain as much lean muscle mass as possible then consume your protein around your time of training! 🛑 Read for a HUGE announcement at the end 🙏🏼 I have spent the last 5 years trying to do one thing: Become a better and happier person ⚠️ Right before I started my journey (top left), I had low self-esteem, no true direction for what I wanted to do, and was convinced I would live my life in a state of apathy, just getting by. ⚠️ About 6 months into my journey, having lost 40 lbs and dealing with a lot of disordered eating (bottom left), I had even less self-esteem than when I was 40 lbs heavier and I thought that I would be happy when I reached a certain physique. ✅ Flash forward to today, I am happy, driven, and so optimistic for my future and what I can accomplish. However, the improvements I’ve seen isn’t because I’ve gotten bigger or stronger, it goes far deeper than that. 🙌🏼 I am who I am today because of these things: ▪️Growing up overweight for most of my life. ▪️Comparing myself and feeling inadequate to those around me. ▪️Developing disordered eating and dealing with the fear of food for years. ▪️Going through binge eating phases throughout my journey, where I gained anywhere from 10-20 lbs of fat in less than a month, 3 separate times. ▪️Going through countless setbacks and injuries in the gym and learning the only person worth comparing myself to is me. ▪️Being told by those around me and some former close friends, that what I was trying to accomplish was unrealistic or a waste of time. Having hit and overcome low point after low point has given me the ability to be empathetic towards others and along the way, acquire the knowledge to help others. 🛑 WARNING: I apologise in advance for the faces pulled in this video 🛑 Bicep curls are an exercise we all know (and probably one a lot of us guys prioritised too much when we were just starting out lols) Being such a simple movement there’s literally a millions ways to train them... EZ bar curls, hammer curls, spider curls, pronated - the list goes on But a combo that I’ve found really gets the blood in the ol pythons flowing is just to keep it basic and dropset the movement. For me I just perform standard dumbbell curls, for 12 reps (With a weight that I can manage - but is still a challenge and keeps 1-2 good reps in reserve) Then once I’ve done those I drop the weight by half and perform 12-15 (wherever I can get to without sacrificing form too much - not here tryna throw my back out) Seated... standing... hanging... however you do them - don’t go swinging around like a goose. - @wolfecampbell on Instagram

If you want to get lean like this👆🏼, then read this👇🏼... This vid is from my story back in 2018 when I was about 4 weeks out from the Dennis James Classic (my first overall win in Classic Physique) . I know MANY guys struggle with getting their abs to show let alone having veins show up lol but Im here to tell you that regardless of what leanness level your goal is, the process of getting to it is the exact same. I never did anything drastic. I never starved myself. I didnt do an abundance of cardio. I lived by the fat loss principle of the minimum effective dose, which basically means that I only changed one small variable for fat loss at a time. Slow and steady, nothing to shock my body or whatever language the fitness world likes to use. And the most important part: I stayed consistent. Too many people overlook consistency for why they havent gotten results, but whens the last time you have a perfect week of completing all your workouts, eating only the food on your meal plan and getting enough sleep? Now take that one week of consistency and multiply it by 8-16 weeks (whatever the timeline is) and BAM! ABSSSSSS. Fat loss is SIMPLE. All you need now are the tools to use, and IN THE RIGHT ORDER, so you can drop fat at will any time you feel like it, and at any age for the rest of your life. It took me 5 years to build and sculpt this physique from 18-23. I was amazed at how I looked. I give @building.bodies A lot of credit for guiding me through this past prep. His passion to coach and develop his athletes is incredible. I see him helping so many athletes turn pro and it’s extremely inspiring. - Listen, I know a lot of you have been wondering when I’m going to come back and get “redemption.” That will be on Gods time and on my time. Has nothing to do with motivation and has nothing to do with me not requalifying for nationals my last show. I took a year off the stage after placing 2nd and qualifying for nationals in the show prior. I have a lot of self belief but I have to be there spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically which I’m not currently for competing in bodybuilding that is. Since that’s the case, I won’t bring my best and I won’t be on my A game which is unacceptable for me. Bodybuilding is the hardest sport in the world and that’s why I chose to do it. My heart has to be in it though. - I mean this in no disrespect but a lot of y’all need to stop coming to the internet for motivation ALL THE TIME. Motivation gives you a good boost or kick start but it shouldn’t be relied on. I’m not easily influenced/persuaded and you shouldn’t be either. I’m not ignorant to other people, I don’t think anyone’s better then the next, and I don’t judge other people. To each is own. I’m always open to learn and grow....but you have to be experienced and credible for me to listen. Not just credible with likes and followers but with what and how you did what you did. Motivation is great but it’s temporary. With that being said, you’re drive comes from within. Listen to yourself. I wish everybody the best in their lives.
