The shadow is an archetypal term that Carl Jung coined to describe everything in us that is unconscious, repressed, feared and denied. One way or another, the uncomfortable truth is that there exists a shadow in everyone! Many of us have understandably pushed it away and locked it up in the deep recesses of our selves. Its easier, prettier and definitely more convenient to just cling towards notions of love and light. However that is ultimately still a form of escapism, the shadow will always find a way to manifest itself in your reality in a toxic and unhealthy way until you decide to face it. The path of spiritual awakening; of knowing ones whole and true self only can truly begin when you cut through the shadow and not simply just skip around it. This daunting and terrifying task is called Shadow Work. You have to try to uncover everything you have consciously or unconciously hidden away, disowned or rejected. Personally, it has been the single most important journey for me to find my flow, peace and path. These are some tools that helped me along the path and I hope with all my heart that it helps you too ❤️❤️❤️ - @slimyoddity on Instagram
