Rhythm and Flow Profile Pics

One might argue over what island has the best waves in the world. Australia technically is a island am I right? We landed in Sydney from Honolulu. Myself @dannyfuller along with @happyreef76. A life line of contacts to ping down the south coast. Our objective was based around a couple of large low pressures sitting off the east coast. A few meat pies and black coffees, Mr. Morgan hinted to get on the Hwy and head his way. The 3 am departure was brutal. Half asleep we made the four-hour drive through farm lands of the coastal country side. After the long drive we found our exit into the quiet fishing town. The slab hunter was waiting, at the local cafe we shook hands and had few laughs. Morgan’s mate gave a few words but not many. “You boys ready” is what stuck in my head all day, every session we surfed was bigger and heavier than the previous. We eventually found ourselves huddled on the edge a pyramid shape reef. Waiting for the Jet ski to come scoop us off and taxi us out to line up. No ski showed up, the wave was about 15 minute paddle swim out. Through deep shark infested looking waters. (Found out it was full of sharks after we got back to land) I was swimming as quick as I could to keep up with Danny and Reef. Reef has arms like an orangutan, one paddle for him is like three or four to the average surfer. Passing the deep channel onto reef we found our lineups. The cross current from channel into impact zone was nearly impossible to stay in one spot. Reality was starting to sink in, it was going to be impossible to be three to five away from my subjects. I like a good challenge, this time the 15 mm lens was proving to be the wrong focal length. Two hours later I was about to give up. My legs were starting to cramp, the water was so cold I could not feel my feet or hands. I swam through the first wave of set, Danny was on the next. The first wave had pulled me exactly into position, I had a few bars left of strength as he pulled into the barrel I lifted my arm and camera, I held my arm in the barrel to the point of getting sucked over the falls.
