WTF is anticipatory grief? 🧐 it’s a good question that I didn’t have the answer to the first few years after losing my mom. And I’ve got an answer now, esp as I’m in the midst of it — less than one week out from the four-year anniversary of my mama’s death. 😱 Leading up to death anniversaries, her birthday, the holidays, and even my own birthday, it became very clear that grief didn’t just show up on the actual day itself. It showed up for days or weeks or months in advance when my body and my brain knew that it was coming. Anticipatory grief is the experience of grieving something before you’ve lost or encountered it. It can come about long before someone dies and on multiple occasions after. It can feel overwhelming, out of place, weird, confusing, and just downright frustrating 🤬😱😴 When we think that there will be a few days a year that are going to be really hard that can feel manageable. But when all of spring you’re leading up to Mother’s Day, and then all of summer you’re leading up to a deathiversary, then a few more months and you know the holidays are coming, and then the new year hits and it starts all over... anticipatory grief can be a pain in the ass 🤗 But it can also be a really good reminder. 🙏🏾 It can help remind us to prep, plan, and care for ourselves on all of the days that feel hard. It reminds us to pay extra attention to our needs during the hardest times of the year. And it allows us and encourages us to reach out to people for support in advance. 🥰✨ what is anticipatory grief? It’s both a pain in the ass and a beautiful reminder. How am I dealing with it? I plan when I see it coming. I give myself a break when it has arrived. I set a vacation responder for ~ weeks ~ ahead of anniversaries..... and I make a lot of potatoes and don’t fault myself when I need something comforting long before the big day. - @alica.forneret on Instagram

Another Sustainable Gif Friday coming at you!! A huge topic of debate now-a-days is which dairy-free milk alternatives is the best for the environment. Although all options are significantly better than dairy milk, there are some important details you should consider when choosing between almond milk or oat milk. While yes, almond milk contains less calories per cup compared to oat, it is not as sustainable as many claim it to be. 80% of the worlds commercial almond production takes place in California. Now, if you weren’t sure already, California tends to have severe issues with droughts and almonds tend to be the highest water-consuming crop out there, making them a deadly duo. Just one liter of almond milk requires a whopping 370 liters of water just to be produced! Think of all the water we could save just by reducing the amount of almond milk consumed. Another interesting fact that many seem to ignore is the affect that almond milk production has on our bee population. In order to grow almond trees farmers depend on cross-pollination from honeybees. This co-dependent relationship has grown off the charts in recent years due to the high demand in almond milk. With the increase in demand for pollination and pesticides used on the trees, the honeybee populations have taken a serious toll. In 2019, 50 million commercial bees died from this stress induced relationship. So if you’re a fellow Save The Bees advocate, make the switch to oat milk. Hi Everyone, After sending out emails to all of my clients, I wanted to officially announce that I have decided to close/dismantle my shop and take an indefinite hiatus from doing hair. There are many factors that went into this decision that came down to business numbers, the effects of new necessary regulations and the safety of myself, my clients, and loved ones.🌷Yeah, this post does suck, but I do feel completely at peace with this decision. The hard part has been letting go of the relationships. Some, I hadnt even realized, reached me so deeply. In response, I got so many words of love, support and understanding... remarkable for recieving such inconvenient news, but that is how awesome my clientele was.🌷 Meanwhile, Im letting my mind and heart settle in an attempt to reconnect to my inner compass and see what road life will lead me down next. Demorei um tempo para descobri quem eu era, para ser bem sincera demorei minha vida toda. Sempre me escondi em personalidades que sinceramente combinava comigo porém nunca era eu, hoje nos meus 20 anos podemos dizer, descobri que eu não preciso esconder em nada porque a melhor versão de mim com certeza é eu sendo e aceitando quem eu sou. Já passei por tanto obstáculos que eu parando para ver agora; o quão fui boba e ingênua de acreditar que eu não seria linda o suficiente assim do jeitinho que sou. Quantas vezes me escondi no quarto e fiquei horas com pregador de roupa no nariz para ver se afinasse, nunca gostei de café pois sempre ouvia que café deixava a gente mais pretinha (se fosse hoje eu ia até tomar banho pois a minha vontade é ser mais “pretinha”), sobre o meu cabelo? A ele foi o meu maior rival, quantas vezes deixei de ir em festa ou até mesmo atender alguém no portão por ele não está camuflado em meio as tranças ou em algo que o escondia bem. Hoje eu posso dizer que eu sou quem eu quero ser, com nariz de batata (como alguns preferem dizer) com o meu cabelo do jeito que eu quero que ele esteja. In tempi rapidissimi, abbiamo coinvolto due partner di fiducia, @we_are_inpact e @frutilla_napoli, e abbiamo realizzato uno scatolino brandizzato contenente una mini cheesecake che è stata donata il giorno del compleanno del locale per ogni panino acquistato, insieme a una candelina ovviamente arancione e un talloncino di istruzioni per festeggiare insieme e condividere il momento con una IG story. L’iniziativa ha riscosso enorme successo, ci ha permesso di realizzare una compilation che trovate sulla pagina di Puok in cui abbiamo raccolto tutte le storie, e dietro le quinte abbiamo raccolto tutta una serie di feedback entusiastici sull’idea, e non da meno, sulla realizzazione del packaging e del dolcetto da parte dei due partner dell’operazione. She has long legs and arms, a compact torso, and small breasts. This image, most pronounced in classical ballet, is supported by training regimes which value mastery of a codified movement vocabulary, highly specific muscular development, extreme joint flexibility and stamina, all of which must be mastered within severe weight limitations. The rigors of this kind of training lead to a preoccupation with weight that can become obsessive in terms of how women view or distort their personal images. George Balanchine was renowned for his preference for the very thin ballerina, whom he considered ideal for communicating this technique and performing his steps. This predilection was apparent both in his professional aesthetic judgement and in his personal relations. In dancing schools and companies throughout the United States, the Balanchine ballerina became the physical ideal.
