Nous nous arrêtions sur le bord de route pour prendre un délicieux thé à la Menthe de chez Hassan, qui nous accueillait toujours avec un sourire plein de bénédiction. Lui en darija, nous en francais, nous n’avions pas besoin de parler la même langue pour nous comprendre. Nous observions les bergers passant à pied avec quelques brebis, traversant les larges plaines, d’un horizon à l’autre. Nous observions avec admiration ces vaillants vieillards, sans âges, d’une robustesse fascinante. Leurs yeux témoignaient de milliers de secrets. The series Alpha and Omega, produced during his treatment for alcoholism and anxiety, was a self-critical satire of his own life. Knee to wall test 😌 The deep squat is a good way to test your ankle ROM, however, if for whatever reason you cannot do the deep squat, we recommend using the knee to wall test. Measure the distance your big toe is from the wall as you reach your knee and touch the wall (must have heel planted and foot inline with knee). There is a lack of normative data regarding these test, however we do recommend a minimum of 8-10 cm, preferably over, especially if you are a runner! Limitations in ankle ROM may lead to gait alterations when walking and running. We often find those suffering from limitations or/and regular injuries also have poor range of movement in their ankle joint. What did you score? Sewing Salmon. I have been so fortunate in that I’ve been able to photograph several Material Traditions residencies for the Smithsonian Arctic Studies Center at the Anchorage Museum. This image is of one of the more unique materials, salmon skin. Three contemporary Alaska Native artists, Audrey Armstrong, Coral Chernoff, and Marlene Nielsen, spent a week studying museum artifacts and sharing their techniques with each other and the public. ☠️ Você acorda caindo da cama, sem conseguir dar 3 passos sem sentir dor. Sente-se satisfeito pelo legday do dia anterior. 3 dias depois o repete, acordando com um pouco menos de dor, achando que deixou de dar seu esforço máximo. No treino seguinte, aumenta o número de exercícios, ficando dolorido no dia seguinte mais uma vez. Mas isso não ocorre novamente, você vai aumentando cada vez mais e nada. As articulações começam a doer, a musculatura diminuir e você a se frustar (forrado de inflamações). . . 🤕 Sabe onde está o problema? No “No Pain No Gain”. Acontece que essa dor muscular tardia é comum nos primeiros treinos de um novo planejamento, afinal seu corpo não está adaptado aquilo. Mas a hipertrofia de fato só ocorre após a atenuação desse dano, ou seja, não há dores pós todos os treinos. Quer um exemplo? Depois daquele teu primeiro treino pesado quando iniciaste na academia, ficaste alguns dias sem conseguir movimentar os membros, lembra? Após um tempo você viu um aumento de volume muscular, decorrente de treinos e mais treinos repetidos. . . 🏋️♂️ Não se prenda em achar que dor é parâmetro. Se preocupe em evoluir. Evoluir o que? Evoluir a carga do supino, arrancar duas repetições a mais no terra, aumentar o número de séries no agacha, enfim, aumentar a tonelagem que você levanta por treino. Ever since I’ve been appointed director of @performancespacenewyork I’ve been dreaming of building a truly artist centric organization. What a very good omen that @keithharingfoundation made a gift to name our largest space The Keith Haring Theatre. I could hardly think of a better name on our walls to ring in our 40th anniversary. Not only did Haring have a studio in our building where he co-organized the “Open Performance” program in 1980 but his work and ethos also embody everything we strive for: radical interdisciplinary experimentation, fierce politics, and a unwavering belief in the power of communities and worldbuilding. In addition to naming the theatre, the grant will also fund an annual, free-to-the-public Keith Haring Lecture Series, as well as the Keith Haring Curatorial Fellowship. More soon! Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last 40 years and has made this moment possible. All the artists, staff and board members, donors. You know who you are! Em uma obra de arte, os objetos ou os assuntos são apresentados de forma em que seja possível transmitir um significado além do literal. É importante notar que um pintor se comunica com o público por meio de uma lona. Diferentemente de um filme ou livro, a informação e a mensagem estão limitadas à uma única imagem. Em uma pintura, considera-se o que é retratado – o assunto – e quanto bem o artista utilizou elementos de composição, como formas, cores, espaço, luzes, tom, etc. O observador pode decodificar os símbolos e inferir suas mensagens. Por exemplo, cores pálidas e linhas muito finas podem transmitir um senso de delicadeza. As pessoas reagem instantaneamente a pinturas. Contudo, essa reação imediata se desenvolve em uma reação pessoal mais completa à medida que se examina e se explora a obra. Reagir significa fazer conexões. Tais conexões podem ser diversas – por exemplo, fazer a ligação entre um objeto ou gesto com seus significados ou seu contexto histórico. Muy pocos saben que para algunos autores el movimiento impresionista de la segunda mitad del siglo XIX nació en Caracas. Camille Pissarro, conocido como el patriarca de los rechazados (Monet, Manet, Degas, Renoir, entre otros), siguiendo su destino y retando la tradición familiar en los negocios paternos en la colonia danesa de Saint Thomas, se embarcó junto con su amigo y pintor danés Frist Melbey, en 1852, rumbo a Venezuela. En veintiún meses que duró su permanencia en el país, se dedicó exclusivamente a la artes, reproduciendo a Caracas en pleno Monagato. La luz, los colores y las sombras que engalanaban los paisajes que la ciudad y El Àvila regalaban, así como las vivencias inscritas en sus casas, plazas, iglesias y en sus calles, quedarìan plasmadas en sus dibujos, acuarelas, bosquejos y litografìas al lápiz, carboncillo y algunos óleos que sumaron más de cuatrocientos y de los que se conservan algunos. Pero lo más fascinante es lo que Rafael Pineda en 1978 escribió: “El joven artista ensayaba la capacidad para interpretar el paisaje, la figura humana y las cosas en términos de sucesos puramente pictórico-lumínicos; es decir, la visión que se traslada de lo particular a lo general, en el camino inverso que recorre la ciencia para arribar a sus conclusiones (...) La etapa preparatoria de esta participación de Pisarro en la escuela impresionista, como uno de sus principales fundadores, se concreta en buena parte a través de los dibujos que trazó en Caracas y en los pueblos del interior, partiendo del análisis de un hechizo: el hechizo de un insular en tierra firme”. En 1855 ya estaba en París y continuó su obra artística que se mantuvo por cuarenta años más. Por todo lo anterior nos atrevemos a afirmar que Caracas impresionó al impresionismo al “nacer” en esta ciudad de los techos rojos. This sequence of my sister teaching him how to make a fire from bow drill is so special to me, and represents my Dad’s outlook on life. He was down for all adventures, and would try anything once - even if he failed, it was an opportunity to make someone laugh. He especially loved learning from his children. Last year he texted me “I would love to be an assistant on one of your future projects, I can go for whatever is needed. It would make for a fun vacation getaway from my life” The creative work I get to do today is thanks to his years of support and encouragement. Esculturas de papel de Jorge Faúndez Cornejo - Parte 1. La Sala de Exposiciones de la Casa Estación nuevamente los invita a recorrer de manera virtual una nueva muestra artística, la que podrán apreciar a través de nuestras redes sociales Quintero + Cultura. En esta oportunidad les presentamos una muestra de obras artísticas denominada “Esculturas de papel” cuya temática está centrada en la figura humana en el contexto social actual de nuestro país. La materialidad para el diseño es siempre papel reciclado, fundamentalmente es papel de diario, aunque en ocasiones se emplea otro tipo de papel, pero siempre con la idea de utilizar material reciclado. La técnica utilizada es el resultado de un trabajo de aprendizaje autodidacta a la que llegó el artista luego de trabajar, aprender y experimentar con la ancestral técnica del Papel Maché y la italiana, Cartapesta. Jorge Faúndez Cornejo, quien en el año 2005 viajó a España donde comienza un camino autodidacta y de búsqueda en el arte experimentando con la actuación y la participación en pequeños vídeos. En medio de la crisis española, comienza a explorar la escultura en papel. Tras una serie de exposiciones en diferentes distritos de Madrid, logra exponer en algunas salas de la capital hispana y en 2014 en Italia en la ciudad de Lucca (La Toscana) es seleccionado para participar en el marco de la VII versión de la Bienal de Arte, Cartasia, 2014 donde se exponen trabajos exclusivamente realizados en papel y sus derivados. A su regreso a Chile ha retomado su trabajo centrado en estudios que indagan en el cuerpo y las emociones en el contexto social actual. Café venezolano, de los mejores del mundo Se dice que por órdenes del Rey Luis XIV, #GabrielMathieuDeClieu trajo el primer #cafeto a #Venezuela desde #Martinica a la cuenca del río Caroní en 1730, donde fue sembrado por misiones españolas allí asentadas; otros, le atribuyen su traslado y cultivo al padre jesuita #JoséGumilla, autor de “El Orinoco Ilustrado y Defendido Extendiéndose por el territorio nacional, en 1784 se hizo la primera #plantación en los jardines de la aldea de #Chacao #Caracas en la célebre Hacienda #LaFloresta, propiedad del #PadreSojo, y se sumaron las haciendas #Blandín (#CountryClub), propiedad de Bartolomé Blandín y #SanFelipeNeri (#LaCastellana), propiedad del #PadreMohedano Durante los primeros años del siglo pasado, entre 1909-1919, Venezuela fue el segundo productor de #café a nivel mundial después de Brasil, y un gran exportador, marcando una pauta especial gracias a su calidad de indudable renombre internacional.
