Sabato 19 Settembre 2020, si è svolta presso larea verde della ex-scuola di Miralduolo, la cerimonia di inaugurazione dellopera scultorea raffigurante SAN ROCCO dello scultore Urbano Mancini. La Pro Loco Miralduolo ha provveduto ai lavori ed allallestimento dellimpianto scultoreo. Lopera è nata da un’idea dello stesso scultore pochi anni fa, che ha elaborato lidea di raffigurare questa immagine sacra che rappresenta il Santo protettore di Miralduolo, lidea si è trasformata in fasi successive nel progetto completo che lo stesso Urbano Mancini ha donato alla comunità. Presenti allinaugurazione il primo cittadino di Torgiano Eridano Liberti, lassessore alla cultura Elena Falaschi, i quali hanno ringraziato elogiando lo scultore Urbano Mancini e la Pro Loco di Miralduolo rappresentata dal Presidente Sig. Claudio Baccarelli che si è prodigata per la buona riuscita dellevento. E intervenuto il Dott. Andrea Magaritelli che ha illustrato la storia del luogo ricavata da importanti ricerche storiche e quindi dell’importanza nei secoli delle chiese cristiane del territorio miralduolese, fornendo le note storiche e bibliografiche sull’origine di Miralduolo e della chiesa dedicata a San Rocco. Contestualmente alla inaugurazione dell’opera scultorea è stato consegnato ai presenti un opuscolo curato dalla “Fondazione G. Giordano” dove si racconta la vita di San Rocco protettore di Miralduolo. La scultura è stata benedetta dal Monsignor Giuseppe Piccioni parroco di Torgiano, il quale ha ringraziato lautore dellopera, parlando della vita di San Rocco e come ancora oggi sia attuale il suo modello di vita che costituisce per tutti un richiamo potente al Vangelo, il culto di San Rocco, guaritore della peste e simbolo di carità cristiana. Il Presidente della Pro Loco Miralduolo ha ringraziato: l’Amministrazione Comunale per aver consentito la collocazione della scultura, la società Wilsider per la parte strutturale della scultura, la Umbria Vetro per la copertura in vetro, la società Illux per l’illuminazione dell’opera, il Sig. Broad Street Ministry (BSM), through its Hospitality Collaborative, is dedicated to meeting the needs of all of its guests with dignity, compassion and a sense of hospitality that is not just reserved for those of us that can afford to pay for it. The Pilot House building located on the waterfront of Boston’s North End may be a historic 1850’s building, but it’s renovations are sensitive and designed with resiliency in mind. DSK designed various spaces in the most recent set of upgrades to the LEED-EB certified building. The basement of Pilot House has flooded multiple times in the past, with its location on the waterfront and the rising sea levels, so the new gym and locker rooms are designed to accept the inevitable flooding. For almost 4 decades Newtown Neighbourhood Centre has been located at Newtown Town Hall. Last night @innerwestcouncil voted to make Newtown Town Hall a Pride Centre. 🌈🏫 While we are happy to move, and to support a safe inclusive space for the LGBTIQ community, we will also continue to advocate that the Town Hall always remains a valuable community asset. We know it has been an important space for many clients, community groups, activists, and small local businesses over the years. For a long time the Centre has needed major renovations, and we were going to have to move out for a couple of years while these occurred. We will now be permanently relocating to 11-13 Darley Street (currently known as the Tom Foster Community Centre), probably by late 2021. We are looking forward to the move as we will have the opportunity to re-design the building’s layout and space according to our programs and needs. The space also has a warm and welcoming outdoor garden that will be able to be utilised by staff, volunteers, clients and community members. We currently have staff located in two separate offices and this will give us the opportunity to come together as one team, and to invest what we would have spent on rent into services for our community. In the meantime, we are still here for now, and well keep you posted on plans as they unfold.❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 - @newtowncentre on Instagram

Ajit Kumar Doval, IPS (Retd) (born 20 January 1945) is a former Indian intelligence and law enforcement officer, who, since 30 May 2014, is the 5th and current National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of India. He had previously served as the Director of the Intelligence Bureau in 2004–05, after spending a decade as the head of its operations wing. Doval was born in 1945 in Ghiri Banelsyun village in Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. Dovals father was an officer in the Indian Army. He received his early education at the Ajmer Military School (formerly King Georges Royal Indian Military School) in Ajmer, Rajasthan. He graduated with a masters degree in economics from the University of Agra in 1967. He was awarded an honorary doctorate for his contribution in the field of strategic and security matters, in science and literature from Agra University in December 2017 and Kumaun University in May 2018 respectively. Awards- Doval was the youngest police officer ever to get the Police Medal for meritorious service. He got it after six years in the police (the norm is at least 17 years service). He was later awarded the Presidents Police Medal. The Pandavas dont shed a tear on the death of Karna as they have been thinking of him as an enemy since the time they knew him. One of the common questions I tend to recieve about @placesyoullpray is, “how has the public reacted to your project?” And almost every time, I have to pause because there is no one answer. While majority of the responses have been positive with occasional words of encouragement, support, and stories of shared experiences... the other responses are negative and filled with loud comments policing the way someone prays, to comments that stem from internal prejudice, Islamophobia, crab mentality, insecurities, etc. I’ve come to accept and embrace each of these views because it’s entirely okay (to an extent). No matter what project, product, or piece you end up creating and/or sharing with the public, someone(s) is bound to criticize you for it. It’s almost as if it’s human nature at this point: to question others and their motives. While that’s okay and not exactly a bad trait, it’s important to stay balanced in the way we speak to others and to be conscious of the word choice we use. Good, respectful communication goes a long way; violent language and abrasive insults do not. And while some struggle to see the larger picture in projects such as Places You’ll Pray and those similar to it, there are those who also enjoy seeing representation they haven’t seen before. Even moreso, they enjoy the opportunity to be a part of the conversation by easily submitting their own photos and stories. Imorgon tisdag 22/9 kockan 12 slår Tranströmerbiblioteket i Medborgarhuset på Södermalm upp dörrarna till sina nya lokaler i husets östra flygel. Biblioteket är uppkallat efter poeten Tomas Tranströmer. Astrid Lindgren har starka kopplingar till huset liksom Elsa Olenius som grundade Vår teater”. I arbetet med bibliotekets inredningen har Nyréns inredningsarkitekter inspirerats av dessa litterära personligheter liksom husets monumentala lite sagobetonade skala och svensk natur. Till bibliotekets barnavdelningen har vi gjort en tapet likt ett storskaligt herbarium med blommor som plockats på Södermalm. Tomas Tranströmer hade ett stort intresse för natur, blommor och insekter. To me, resiliency is the ability to not let the past define your future. It means to meet every hardship face to face and not back down; to believe in yourself; to learn; to overcome; to forge on; to become a better person. This is how we grow. Take nothing for granted, be accountable, love every opportunity, and cherish the moment. . . The one short story I want to share about Jeff happened a few years ago now. I had just woken up in post op from one of my Vail surgeries and was all alone at the time, still a little disoriented from the meds. Jeff was the friendly and familiar face who stopped by, taking time out of his busy schedule, to check in on me and let me know that everything went smoothly. I will never forget his kindness that he shared with me often. . . Thank you @mikaelashiffrin for your nomination and for sharing your story about resiliency. Aaditya Thackeray launched “Changing Moves Changing Minds” an initiative for students & teachers of BMC schools designed by the British Council, Royal Academy of Dance, Marylebone Cricket Club, to use dance and cricket as a means to promote Gender Equality & break Gender Stereotypes. At an early stage, kids subconsciously get conditioned with a certain thought process of what boys should do and what girls should do. To break this barrier early on, this programme has been introduced in every BMC school with an aim to push kids to have an open mind. 150 master trainers for the gender education programme, who in turn will train 2,630 BMC teachers. Around 1.6 lakh students will be part of the programme. The curriculum is designed to use cricket and dance seamlessly, to subtly alter and challenge their perceptions of how the opposite gender should be.
