A week ago today was the hardest day of my life.⁣ ⁣ We’d just flown to Kansas the day before to visit family. I went to the bathroom & saw blood. I was supposed to be 12 weeks along. Freaking out & anticipating the worst, I made an appointment at the obgyn an hour later.⁣ ⁣ Andrew couldn’t come to the appointment with me because of Covid.⁣ ⁣ I hate Covid with every possible fiber in me.⁣ ⁣ By myself I walked into the hospital for a sonogram. Before the nurse even started I just had this feeling in my gut that told me this wasn’t going to end well.⁣ ⁣ She didn’t say a word as she measured a 9 week lifeless baby on the monitor. That this happens to so many women.⁣ ⁣ Nothing he said made me feel any better.⁣ ⁣ The last week has brought more pain than I’ve ever known. But also so much love. The amount of love poured out has been overwhelming. Thank you for sending us prayers, thoughts, songs, gifts, and your love. It hasn’t gone unnoticed. 😭❤️⁣ ⁣ I share this story because even though it’s suffocating right now, it would be fake of me to only show up when everything’s happy.⁣ ⁣ Everything’s not okay, & that’s okay. This baby deserves their little life to mean something. This baby deserves their story not be shoved under a rug just because it’s painful right now. And if you’re going through something similar, whether it’s a miscarriage or another terrible heartbreak.... I want you to know that’s it’s okay to not be okay.⁣ ⁣ The one thing I do know... the devil picked the wrong girl to mess with. What Satan meant for destruction will only make me stronger. What he intended to break will only make me fight harder. I might be wounded right now, but the devil will not win. God is still sovereign. He is STILL good.
