Between dance, film and photography, Velorose presents the FUBUNATION collective which investigates the personal struggles of power and emotion, and strikes a balance between conflict, vulnerability and co-dependency. Man Throws Rock at Officer On September 25, 2020, around 10 am, Manchester Police Officer Thomas Gallagher was working a construction detail and encountered a male on a skateboard. The individual was riding his skateboard through the construction zone and Ofc Gallagher told him he was not allowed to do so. The male swore at the officer and left the area. A short while later the same individual came back and again rode his skateboard in the construction zone. When we he was told by Ofc Gallagher to leave, the male took a slate of loose pavement and threw it at the officer. The pavement narrowly missed the officer’s head. The male then started to ride off, ignoring Ofc Gallagher’s orders to stop. It was believed that the individual went into a nearby business. Officers set up a perimeter and then entered the building. The male identified as 27 y/o Joshua Pelletier of Manchester was arrested and charged with felony Reckless Conduct and Resisting Arrest. “The abhorrent violence toward Officer Gallagher today is consistent with the violence toward police occurring across the country,” says Assistant Chief Ryan Grant. “This was completely uncalled for, as Ofc. Gallagher was just doing his job and trying to keep Mr. Pelletier safe. Mr Pelletier’s response to that guidance was to recklessly throw a piece of asphalt at him. It would be a tense environment. • Vs. someone asking politely “Hi can I use your pen for a second please?” you’d gladly oblige. This is the effect permission can have in a sales situation. Tense vs inviting. I’ll explain more below. Anyways, I use these concepts all the time and it’s made me a ton of 💰and it will for you. • This is what happened with a health coaching client a while back and here’s how it played out. • We got on the phone and did the regular shmegular intro and such “Hey how are you Hakeem?” “I’m well, just pissing people off on fb and giving massive value, so yeah nothing new haha” • So then after a minute of catching up I started to set the preframe BEFORE the actual nitty gritty of the call. “Now before we get into everything, at the end of this call if you’re accepted into my program there’s one thing I want you to know that’s completely okay for you to say. Want to know what that is?” • “Sure go ahead” “That 1 thing is NO, yup NO. I know it may sound weird but I want you understand this is a trusting environment and I would rather you give me a straight up and honest “no” than saying, let me think about it, I have to talk to my husband, I need more time, etc because truly that’s really a no and you just don’t want to hurt my feelings haha” • She laughed and she agreed “You’re right I’ve used the husband line so many times to get out of things 😂” BOOM PREFRAME SET. I have alopecia. Alopecia actually just means hair loss. There are lots of different types (androgenetic alopecia, frontal fibrosing alopecia, telogen effluvium, etc). Too many to list here! I started out with alopecia areata which was patches of hair loss. This is a type where the immune system, for whatever reason, starts to see the hair follicle as a threat & starts to attack it. The immune system cells kind of swarms around the hair follicle preventing the hair from growing. I progressed on from just the patches and lost everything, my hair, my eyebrows, eyelashes, body hair. At this point it was then called alopecia (areata) universalis. Total loss of all hair everywhere. As Im currently sporting half an eyebrow and 90% of my eyelashes Im probably somewhere between alopecia universalis and alopecia (areata) totalis (which is total loss of hair from one area). . My hair loss started as two 10p size patches in May 1995 (age 11). One on each side of my head. They gradually grew over a period of about 6 months. I lost maybe 40/50% of my hair and then they started to fill in. I seem to remember having good regrowth by the January and being able to wear a pony tail again! The following May (1996) it started to fall out pretty rapidly and I lost about 80% over a two week period, the rest followed not long after. I didnt have it for a while and then it started to grow back. By the year 2000 (age 16) I had probably 95% of it back. This continued to fill in over the next few years. But then at the end of 2003 the patches started again. I lost maybe 30/40% over a few months but AGAIN (!) they started to fill in. And AGAIN, a few months later it all came out pretty rapidly over the course of a couple of weeks (age 20). Since then Ive had it try to grow back a few times but nothing more than a small patch of hair. I did have one eyebrow (just the one!) grow back for about five years which is the period of time that this photo was taken! .
