Ideally I would suggest to make this a “leg day” or add in other muscle groups but I know how much everyone wants to grow their glutes. You’ve gotta hit them hard and a few times a week 😎 . You should do some light cardio for 3-5 mins to get warmed up and then stretch out your hip flexors to be able to maximally extend the hips (search for couch stretch) - after that you want to get your glutes ACTIVATED so that you can “feel” them contract . Next step is to BUILD them. This is in the 10-12 rep range and you go as heavy as you can while keeping great form 👍🏼 . The FINISH portion can be put as a little Cardio finisher on any day. It’s just 3 glute focused movements that you can do quickly, without using much weight and the goal is to get your heart rate up . Full-body Metcon You all are going to love this one! I’m going to write some minimal equipment modifications next to each exercise as well. Set your timer for 45 minutes and complete as many rounds as possible. 1. Half kneeling windmill 12 reps - modification- no weight - pull your core in and up. This is a sneaky core shredder. It connects the Core, Glutes, and shoulder stability. 2. Hanging weighted tuck-ups 12 reps - modification no weight or sprinter crunch or tuck ups on the ground 3. Cable lateral banded steps 12 reps each way - focus drive off that inside leg requiring that outer Glute to work- modification don’t use the cable machine or use a resistance band to add that extra tension. 4. Bent over barbell row to deadlift - 12 reps - modification use dumbbells 5. Skater squats eight reps each leg - modification sit to stand on a bench with one leg or just make a lunge 6. Atomic pushup - 12-15 reps modification pushup 7. Suitcase b-stance deadlift with half burpee lateral jump- 8 reps modification just do the suitcase b-stance deadlift no burpee eight reps each side 8. Assault air bike, aka death- 10 calories - modification use any piece of equipment or something all out for 30 - 40 seconds, maybe high knees or jump rope. Rest as needed and repeat. I tried to use the windmills as a place to catch my breath and control my breathing. I did four rounds. Last slide is two very important supplements I take. 💪🏻Lower Body Functional Strength💪🏻⁣ ⁣ ⁣ 🏋🏾A squat is extremely functional and squatting on one leg creates squatting symmetry.🏋🏻‍♂️⁣ ⁣ 🏋🏼 A single leg squat reaching the other leg straight backwards is a posterior lower extremity ( LE) reach, and reaching the leg posterior engages the glutes more as they have to counterbalance.🍑⁣ ⁣ 🍑 A favorite upper body tweak to further load the glutes 🍑 during squats 🏋🏾 is a Woodchopper movement. The reach down, forward, and across with a little rotation loads the glutes 🍑 in all three planes ✈️. ⁣ ⁣ 💪🏻Now to get out of the bottom of the motion you have a flexed knee that the quads 🦵🏼will have to help become straight and a very loaded glute complex that will be used to extend the hip.🍑⁣ ⁣ 💯 This makes it a good exercise for your quad 🦵🏼dominant athlete that needs to use their glutes 🍑 more or one with anterior knee pain that needs some help from the posterior chain.🍑⁣ ⁣ The videos 📽show a regression from a:⁣ ⁣ 1.
