Welcome to another throwback history post as we travel to southeastern Ohio and to Jesse Owens State Park, our newest state park, and the Big Muskie. The Miners Memorial Park in Jesse Owens State Park is a monument to the achievements of @aepohio and its subsidiary Central Ohio Coal Company. One of the main attractions of this memorial is Big Muskie’s Bucket.” Big Muskie was the largest dragline ever built. The 220-cubic-yard, 240-ton bucket is a true engineering marvel. Due to the massive size of the machine, Big Muskie had to be built on site. Starting in 1967, more than 300 railcars and 250 trucks hauled the necessary pieces to Muskingum Mine. It took a team of engineers more than two years to erect Big Muskie. When completed, the massive machine stood 240-feet tall. The behemoth digger worked by dragging its bucket along the ground to strip away layers of soil and rock that covered high-sulfur coal. Big Muskie could lift 325 tons of earth and rock in a single bite. Between 1969 and 1991, Big Muskie ran 24 hours a day, 364 days a year, moving more than 483 million cubic yards of rock and earth. In the early 1990s, demand for high sulfur coal had declined significantly. The immense cost of powering Big Muskie could no longer be justified, and it was shut down. There were efforts to have Big Muskie preserved and relocated, but the money could not be raised and in May 1999 Big Muskie was disassembled and recycled. All that remains is the bucket. Today visitors can climb inside the bucket and imagine what it took to make such an enormous thing move. The Wall of Honor is another highlight of the area, showcasing past and present employees of Central Ohio Coal Company, the AEP subsidiary that operated the Big Muskie. In addition to the memorial features found in this part of the park, visitors can enjoy a picnic area with a shelter and a scenic overlook of the area. मूंदी भारत के मध्य प्रदेश के पूर्व निमाड़ खंडवा जिले में स्थित एक प्रमुख शहर है। समुद्र तल से 900 मीटर की ऊंचाई पर है। यह शहर नर्मदा घाटी के पास बसा है।यह शहर पूर्व निमाड़ के उत्तर दिशा मे स्थित है।यह शहर का आकार पूर्व मे अंगूठी या गोला आकार मे बसा होने के कारण इसका नाम मुंदड़ी से मूंदी रखा गया था।यह शहर अतिप्राचीन काल से बसा हुआ है मान्यताओ अनुसार यहाँ पर महाभारत काल के समय पांडव यहॉ आए थे एवं उन्होने यहां पर लोटेश्वर एवं कोटेश्वर मंदिर की स्थापना की थी।इसी काल के एक और ऐतिहासिक मॉ रेणुका धाम भी है जो यह सिद्ध करता है की यह शहर काफी पुराना है।यह वही क्षेत्र है जहाँ संत सिगांजी ने अपनी समाधि ली थी एवं उनके शिष्यो की भी समाधि यही स्थापित है। इस शहर के नजदीक ही राजा हरसवर्धन के द्वारा बसाया गया था हरसूद जो की अब इंदिरा सागर परियोजना बांध मे डूब गया है।यहां अनेक प्राचीन मुर्तियाँ एवं स्थान आज भी मौजूद है जो की इस शहर के पुरातनता को सवारे हुए हैं।मडी,गडी,रेणुका धाम, कोटेश्वर एवं लोटेश्वर मंदिर यहां की पुरातन धरोहर है। एतिहासिक तथ्य प्राचीन मान्यताओं के अनुसार मूँदी शहर का नाम मुन्द्री {गोल आकर या अंगुुठी } पर रखा था. मान्यतानुसार पांडवो ने यहा पर लोटॆॆश्वर व कोतेश्वर मंदिर बनवाया था जो की माँ रॆणुका माता मंदिर के पास स्थित है अतः मूँदी मान्यता अनुसार हजारों वर्ष पुराना है। 12वीं शताब्दी में यह नगर जैन मत का महत्त्वपूर्ण स्थान था। यह नगर पुरातन नगर है, यहाँ पाये जाने वाले अवशेषों से यह सिद्ध होता है| यह पर जैन मुर्तियाँ भी पायी गयी थी 1864 से यह नगर मध्य प्रदेश के नवगठित निमाड़ ज़िले मॆॆ स्थित है । 1985 में इसे नगर परिषद बना दिया गया। यह शहर उत्तर-पश्चिमी मे ओंकारेश्वर , सनावद, बड़वाह पूर्व मे छनेरा व दक्षिण मे खंडवा शहर से जुड़ा हुआ है। मूंदी शहर की स्थानीय अर्थव्यवस्था मुख्य रूप से कृषि और व्यापार पर आधारित है। आसपास के क्षेत्र की मुख्य फसल गेहूं, कपास और सोयाबीन हैं। मूंदी शहर के नजदीक बीड़ ग्राम मे कपास उपमण्डी मनाई गई है जिसका संचालन मूंदी, उपज मंडी से होता है। इसके अलावा 2010 मे मध्यप्रदेश पॉवर जनरेटीग कंपनी द्वारा मूंदी क्षेत्र में संत सिगांजी पॉवर प्लांट स्थापित किया है जिससे यहां का व्यापार व रोजगार बढ़ा है।एवं निरंतर उन्नती विकास बढ़ रहा है आने वाले समय मे यहां सिमेंट प्लांट स्थापित होना प्रस्तावित है। पर्यटन स्थल के तौर पर पर्यटको को यहां पर हनुवंतिया वाटर स्पोर्ट् , संत सिंगाजी धाम, एवं रेणुका मंदिर, कोटेश्वर मंदीर, लोटेश्वर मंदिर स्थापित हैं। #mundi - @khandwa_mp12 on Instagram

Nekoma Safeguard Complex, North Dakota, America 🇺🇸 Designed as a pyramid (for an unknown reason), the Mickelsen Safeguard Complex near Nekoma, was a radar system intended to find and destroy missiles launched at the U.S. Inside the complex, along with radar, were 30 Spartan antiballistic missiles and 16 Sprint missiles. Because of a treaty with the Soviet Union that limited the number of weapons complexes each country could have, Mickelsen didnt even stay in service for an entire year. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was directed by Michael Bay with cinematography by Ben Seresin, ASC. Following through on its promise to be a sequel, the story is told through explosions, gunfire, and loud vrooming noises set to voice-over in a nod to its core audience. Today we’re taking a look at lighting the first fight scene of the film, which takes place at night and sets up the premise of the plot: Fallen Transformers are out for Revenge. To acquire this crucial bit of dialogue, lots of army men and sentient cars drive around dodging explosions and shooting at one another. All of this took place on location at the Bethlehem Steel Campus in Bethlehem, PA. The factory had shut down years before in 1995, so there was plenty of room to drive fast cars and blow stuff up. The entire campus is 10 acres, but the set was contained to 16,000 square feet. Lighting this scene involved four nights of pre-lighting, three Bebee trucks, and 11 generators. One of the biggest challenges to this location was lighting the five, quarter-mile high, furnace stacks so they stood out in the night and rigging lights at their tops. Because there was so much movement and so many explosions, cameras were everywhere, which meant that all lighting on the ground needed to look purposeful. The stacks were lit from their bases with 12 Light Maxi Brutes and mini-nine lights to up-light them, while 12K LRX heads were rigged from the top to act as spotlights. Additionally, a Blackhawk helicopter was rigged with a xenon spotlight manned by @iatselocal728 members Erica Kim @itsericakim and Michael Schwartz to operate the focus as the explosions, guns, and cars whirled about below.
