Slight decrease in strength as calories decrease and cardio increases. The greater the deficit, the greater the need for heavy working sets to retain muscle. You have to supply a convincing argument for your body to retain muscle in a state of depletion. Training is basic, as always. Let the diet, cardio and supplements strip the fat. Just execute. Ignore the scale. Don’t trust the mirror. Eschew the superfluous in all arenas. Detach from emotion. Just execute. Men should reserve times in their lives to behave like machines. To detach from their feelings. To embody the ideal of discipline above their existence as a human. It’s these temporary periods where we grow the most. Write in your journal constantly, but don’t read it back until after the mission. Or never. Die everyday in some way. Burn off the parts of you that don’t serve the end goal. Don’t just face your darkness, become it. And enjoy every moment of it because it’s those times of self-mechanization that you’ll miss the most when you’re with friends and family and well fed and well rested and full of life. To be completely honest, there are definitely supplement companies that will promise both miracle supplements and fad diets that will cause massive strength gains with extreme fat loss. However, it’s a bunch of lies. Eat your veggies and fruits, get in 0.9-1 g of protein per body pound, and consume roughly 0.5 g of fat per body pound a day and you should be okay. I have and also advise people to use carbohydrates as the driver for fat loss and weight gain. If you need to loss fat, keep your protein and fat roughly the same and simply lower your carbohydrate intake (i.e. need to cut 200 calories? Wanted to get the whole quote on the wall in the picture but couldn’t quite get it... ‍ Motivation is always an interesting one for training. Motivation comes and goes, people get short bursts of motivation then all of sudden burn out and lose it. I find it frustrating because a lot of people give up going to the gym after only a few weeks/months of being there. They give up because they say “I can’t see any results.” But what they don’t realise is changing the way you look won’t happen overnight. I’m sure you’ve heard, ‘It’s a marathon, not a sprint,’ and unfortunately it’s true. But I promise if you just stick at it a little bit longer you will see the results. I truly believe there’s two types of people that go to the gym. People that consider it a hobby, and people that implement it into part of their weekly routine. And once you’ve been going long enough, once you start seeing those small results, you will make that switch. The gym will no longer be something you do as a hobby, it will be ingrained into your weekly routine. ⁉️THE ANABOLIC WINDOW IS REAL⁉️😳 . . 1. This 2013 meta-analysis concluded that as long as daily protein intake is reached, it shouldn’t matter when you consume your protein. BUT 19 of the 23 articles were performed on untrained subjects (unlike the second one). It should also be mentioned that 20 of the articles did not have matched total protein intakes and compared protein supplement to a placebo, therefore, these 20 studies cannot justify the conclusion the article made. The 3 studies that didn’t do this had a total of 77 subjects, which would not lead to the statistical power which the article claimed with the 500+ subjects in all 23 articles. 2. The second article is from 2017 and concludes that the timing of protein consumption DOES matter when it comes to lean muscle mass loss on a cut. 16 trained young males were split into 2 groups. One of which had 28g of whey protein pre and post workout, and the other 28g of carbs. Body fat was lost in the protein supplemented group, but lean mass was lost in the carbohydrate supplemented group. All the previous research (almost general fitness knowledge now) confirmed that having a lot of protein while in a deficit is the best way to maintain lean body mass, however in both groups the subjects had a relatively high protein intake (according to current standards); at 2.6 g/kg in the carbohydrate group and 3.0 g/kg. It seems really unlikely that the 0.4 increase is responsible for preventing lean muscle loss. Which is how the article came to its conclusion that timing protein consumption around time of training will lead to less muscle loss. What’s the takeaway on all this? . If you are an individual who is well trained and are going on a cut, if you want to retain as much lean muscle mass as possible then consume your protein around your time of training! Getting BACK with a BANG 💥 . The age old question- Is the diet more important or the training? . The reason why we so often fail to have an answer to this question despite the abundance of information is due lack of understanding of the process. To further convolute the situation, we have some amazing statements which blur our logic totally . Its 80% diet, 20% training Abs are made in the kitchen You cant out train a bad diet Best FAT BURNING workout Best ____(fill in the body part) sculpting workout Best workout for shredded arms/abs/glutes . Due to the vast plethora of such genius statements, people starting out their fitness journey (and even some of us intermediates) get overwhelmed regarding how to go about things. The above statements themselves arent absolutely wrong. But their meaning gets lost without the lack of CONTEXT or in what niche situation do they actually apply . So to answer the question asked at the start, we must understand that we need 3 very imperative things 1)KNOWING THE WORKING OF THE PROCESS 2)LOGIC 3) CONTEXT The actual problem arises because we are looking at the process from an ineffective lense. Training or diet, which is more important? We are trying to establish a hierarchical chain of command and give precedence to one over the other. What we must realise is that its not a hierarchy, but a CHRONOLOGY! . In a chronology, every part is as important as the other, but its role depends on the timing of its need. To understand the role and its timing, one must understand the process. Whatever be your goal (performance/muscle gain/fat loss) the chronology begins with a stimulus (created by training). Without the stimulus, the manipulation of calories/nutrients for weight management and recovery will be absolutely redundant. On the other hand, if the training is not followed up by adequate nutrition, the other steps (muscle gain, fatloss) will not follow . So neither is more important than the other. We just have to know the chronology of the process and do things specific to it, so that both fulfill their function. Logic and context will follow . How I made Fitness a Priority in my life🔥 So many people struggle to start their fitness journey and actually follow through with the goals they have set for themselves. I used to be one of those people. Before I took action, I struggled so much with staying consistent and actually getting the motivation to follow through with my goals. It probably took me a solid year before I actually committed. I would say “I’ll start next week” or “I’ll start tomorrow” and in some cases I would start a diet and a few days later cave in and just say “fuck it, the real diet starts tomorrow” I was in a bad headspace... I didn’t take myself or my goals seriously. Was I doing this because I truly didn’t care about my goals? HELL NO! I wanted more than anything to be confident and actually like what I see in the mirror every day. So why did I continue to push off my goals? Honestly, it’s the same reason that most people do... Life happens🤷‍♂️ You suddenly have another commitment, you may be in need of money or transportation. Or maybe your job or family is just too demanding. There’s honestly numerous reasons for why people can’t quite commit to their fitness goals. Your time is precious and valuable. Dividing it up efficiently isn’t an easy thing to do. Some things you need to realize is this is 100% not going to be easy. If it were easy, every single one of you would be walking around in movie star shape. But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. I realized that it was going to be a commitment. I had to treat my workouts as a non-negotiable task. I had to wake myself up every single day and remind myself why I’m doing this! When others laughed at me or put me down, I would bring myself right back up and implant positivity into my brain. I skipped out on parties and hanging out with friends because I made a fucking commitment to myself and I was damn sure going to follow through! If your goal is something truly important to you, then I want you to cut the BS. 🛑 WARNING: I apologise in advance for the faces pulled in this video 🛑 Bicep curls are an exercise we all know (and probably one a lot of us guys prioritised too much when we were just starting out lols) Being such a simple movement there’s literally a millions ways to train them... EZ bar curls, hammer curls, spider curls, pronated - the list goes on But a combo that I’ve found really gets the blood in the ol pythons flowing is just to keep it basic and dropset the movement. For me I just perform standard dumbbell curls, for 12 reps (With a weight that I can manage - but is still a challenge and keeps 1-2 good reps in reserve) Then once I’ve done those I drop the weight by half and perform 12-15 (wherever I can get to without sacrificing form too much - not here tryna throw my back out) Seated... standing... hanging... however you do them - don’t go swinging around like a goose. - @wolfecampbell on Instagram

This kid right here. I see him in the gym 4 hours a day, so naturally my curiosity sparked me to getting to learn more about him. Social media has turned into a toxic environment full of fake photoshopping, tons of “out of nowhere models”, extremely influential influencers influencing their - with BOT accounts - enhanced profiles; an extreme increase of instabums of people who suffer with lumbar lordosis (Swayback; Arched back; Lordosis - lumbar. Lordosis is the inward curve of the lumbar spine (just above the buttocks).
