La cantidad que comen, agobia a los padres y abuel@s, sobretodo cuando se deciden iniciar la alimentación complementaria con la metodología Babyled feeding (que toma en cuenta varios aspectos madurativos del niño, sus progresivas habilidades y la importancia neurobiológica de este proceso en la Construcción de un Cerebro feliz y la adquisición de hábitos saludables para su #HistoriadeNutrición) Me escribe una mamá : “ Mi bebé, que esta semana cumple 7 meses y tenemos casi un mes que iniciamos la alimentación complementaria probando varios alimentos: carne, pollo, auyama, cebolla, tomate, brócoli, aguacate, quinoa, lechosa, patilla, entre otros pocos (🤭🙈🤣) Me preocupa que todavía no come como tal, la mayoría de las veces medio prueba algo y luego no lo toca. Hemos tenido un avance en cuanto al agarre de los alimentos y llevarlos a su boca, pero realmente siento que no come . ¿Crees que debo intentar con sopas y papillas para garantizar que “coma” y se nutra? “ Cada bebé es diferente y tiene su tiempo, pero por lo general el primer mes, hay mucho componente lúdico (juego) y exploratorio. Lo importante es la consistencia del estímulo, evitando coaccionar a bebé por nuestro stress de controlar la situación (cantidad de comida, cantidad de veces, patuque). Recuerden que la primera fase transicional de la leche humana exclusiva (o fórmula si no amamantaste) a los alimentos sólidos, es desde los 6 y hasta los 8 meses. En esa etapa su alimento primordial sigue siendo la leche que consumió hasta el 6 to mes, que aún cubre aproximadamente el 80% de los requerimientos nutricionales y los aportes específicos, para satisfacer brechas energéticas a predominio de hierro por ejemplo, se llenan con pocas cantidades de alimentos específicos (si aún no sabes cuales son, puedes bajar mi ⚡ebook gratuito en la link de mi bio, donde también puedes solicitar cualquiera de mis consultas). Guys, there is so much to share about this birth. But lets just start with the after... since sweet babys clearly wondering what just happened and I couldnt love that quizzical expression anymore ❤️ . . . . . After sharing on my FB page I realized that a lot of people think that birth is something that happens to you. Not so. More and more are making informed decisions to birth *their* way. To choose variations of normal such as this vaginal breech birth. That means that all outcomes are taken into consideration ahead of time and parents plan ahead, they prepare and find a supportive doula or midwife (shout out to @sallimidwife @phatmidwife and @midwife_rem) or care provider that will validate their wishes. Your always have a choice and it doesn’t matter if that choice doesn’t make sense to others. It’s your body, your baby ❤️ - @photosbylei on Instagram

Splenic laceration It may not look like much, but this can be a deadly injury if not dealt with quickly and definitively. This injury is also one of the most frequent reasons for requiring emergency surgery after blunt force trauma. The spleen is part of your immune system that besides being a filter for old cells circulating in your blood, it also is the main source of the body’s Complement system, which enhances your body’s ability to fight off a specific type of bacteria. Therefore, while you can live without your spleen, one of the trade offs is that you will require ongoing vaccinations against the most common of these organisms. The first boy who shackled me with sweet words and thoughtful but measured gestures knew exactly why not to. Treating that solid why like a mirage, I often wonder if they were fearless or just too strong. I leave them, for them. Gifting them abandonment as if its a consolation prize, a participation medal in some game of hearts I dont remember participating. I dont know why I stick around watching as they swallow a piece of my void that I unintentionally left behind. The paint me as heartless, retelling about the pieces of love they worshipped me with whose absence they now carry around as callous souvenirs of resentment. I would have nodded in a sad understanding, had I not been so empty and they, not so fulfilled with their hate. One too many souls walks away, heartbroken, sorrowful and messed up, and I dont erase their mumbles or outright shouts claiming how big of a monster I am. Some promise to help me, to fix me, some tell me that I am afraid of what I feel and I want to give in on mornings my pain walks over my emptiness, I want to coddle myself in their ignorance but my head spins a memory of the times I ruined people who I failed to love. If only I registered as pain and not bliss. If only I had been the monster in the shadows, fated to remain unloved.
