On a Saturday I have a fun session in the gym. It’s a session I get to do all the exercises I wouldn’t typically put into my programming however, fun saturday is very much a big part of my training. It’s not a session I take easy or don’t push the weight up. It’s a session to do other things mainly cleans, DB snatches, Slam ball tosses, KB swings, Ski Erg etc. I don’t worry about the volume of the session compared to the week before, it’s a training day I train to my energy level as it’s the 6th day on the trot and my 3rd leg day (sorta), it’s a day I go in and work hard without worrying if it’s 10kg or 40kg. I love training and if lockdown taught me one thing it was I like training if I’m using bands or using a barbell because it’s your intensity and the mindset you have on a session that makes it fun or not. And yes I use the word fun because even though it hurts it is fun 😂 So here is me having fun, swipe if you want to see me not do a squat clean on my first attempt. When @kieran_hogan is your coach, you do intervals 🔥 And I bloody love them. There is an old saying in CrossFit that one should be wary of any workout with programmed rest, because it means you essentially have to go harder during the work periods. But for me, I love to go hard, push the higher end of my capacity, take some short rest, then go again, and repeat. Plus, intervals are an excellent way to build work capacity 👌 Workout: 60s on / 60s off, alternating between A and B: A) 3 power cleans @ 60kg + 6 toes to bar. This week has been hard. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Ive had a hard time showing up on social media because I dont feel like myself. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Last year at this time I was in the best shape of my life, competing with my husband and best friends.... and this year my husband has to help me put on my socks. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I hate asking for help. I hate not being able to do what I love- train. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This week has been the most painful, mentally and physically. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I dont want to complain, I just want to be honest of where Im at. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I keep reminding myself that this is only temporary and I am so thankful for that. Você se Mata ou Morre ? Se Quebra em wods curtos ou desiste em wods longos. Não está sozinho. Sabe O que acontece? A resposta é : DEPENDE! Assunto complexo, vou citar duas principais causas: 1. Seu mindset, não está disposto a sofrer, não melhora no que é ruim pq foge disso. Não gosta de wods de 3 minutos, simplesmente não faz ele em 3 minutos. De forma inconsciente não dá 100% pq vai sofrer muito assim não evolui, “se matar de forma consciente é difícil. O mesmo em Wods longos, se abala pelo “self talk” negativo, o wod não acaba, se pergunta pq faz isso consigo, nessa “conversa” perde o foco e tem uma morte lenta, mais uma vez não quer sofrer... gradativamente vai desistindo. 2. A Outra Razão é fisiológica, você não tem um condicionamento amplo (GPP). Você ou seu coach ou ambos priorizaram uma via metabólica em detrimento da outra. Um CrossFitter deve ter a capacidade de “virar a chave”, virar rápido e sem perder performance. Deve seu corpo fazer muita força (ATP), também se mover com intensidade moderada (Glicogênio) e sustentar grandes tempos de treino ( oxidativo). Mais importante, alternar esses estímulos sem “sofrer”. Você pode ter uma limitação de Mindset ou fisiológica ou os dois. Se Coach deve transformar o seu desconforto em conforto, e achar um novo desconforto.... e repetir esse ciclo infinitamente 😅 Atletas de competição geralmente são mais expostos a essas fraquezas com treinos direcionados. Alunos regulares são expostos de forma mais suave a suas fraquezas e tem um horizonte maior para “se acomodar” onde não gosta. Quer evoluir? Esteja confortável com o desconfortável. Por Último, existem outros fatores que de forma geral estão relacionados ao gerenciamento do desconforto. #membermonday Moi kaikki👋 Mä olen Jari tai Jarska. Olen treenannut Basementilla säännöllisen epäsäännöllisesti viime vuodet. Minulla ei ole varsinaista urheilutaustaa, mutta olen pitkän linjan hiihdonopettaja ja ”vapaalaskettelija” ja se minut Basementille toikin. Karjalan Kovin-kisan järjestelijä ja vapaalaskija jumalan armosta Muukkosen Arttu ilmoitti Lappeenrannassa kahvitellessamme että CrossFit harrastuksen avulla tulen seuraavana talvena vetämään uskomattomia cliffdroppeja reisien värähtämättäkään. Arttu ilmoittikin minut siltä istumalta Top Guniin, Basementin on-rampille. Paikalle päästyäni olin heti myyty, Box Rules - seinä puhutteli ja ennen kaikkea halusin tulla isompana edes vähän sellaiseksi kuin Basementin valmentajat Robin, Toffe, Arttu, Justus ja Eppu sekä yhtä väkeväksi kuin Björn. Tämä ei ole vielä aivan toteutunut, mutta kun ei koskaan ole oikeasti urheillut, niin voi nauttia vaatimattomienkin tulosten pienestä paranemisesta. Ex-hiihtomaikkana nauttii jo siitä kun coachin kanssa korjataan asentoa oikeaksi. Kun aloitin, pelkäsin että kädet repeävät irti olkapäistä, jos hyppää tankoon roikkumaan. Oikeasti. Nyt jo tuntuu siltä että olen oman elämäni erikoisjoukkojen soturi, valmis mihin vain, myös niihin cliffdroppeihin. vou deixar aqui essa imagem de 2014 pra falar de uma parada que eu to louca pra fazer textão. atividade física é uma coisa relativamente nova na minha vida (6 anos). Eu era 100% sedentária e como vcs devem saber eu tenho asma tbm, o que não me incentivava a começar algo tbm. Em 2014 descobri o Crossfit e fiquei obcecada, fui fazer educação física e todo o pacote completo. O que aconteceu ali pra mim foi que eu ganhei capacidade de fazer coisas e pensar em atividades que antes eram impossíveis pra mim (o Crossfit tbm me deu uma esposa mas isso não vem ao caso agora). Viajar e conseguir passear andando era uma coisa horrível, decidir fazer por um dia alguma coisa diferente era impossível. Agora eu consigo ir escalar pra ver como é, jogar beach tênis com meus amigos, fazer yoga, andar de bike com o pai da li, acompanhar minha mãe na musculação que ela finge que não gosta, ir no box que ela treina pra provar pras amigas dela que eu consigo levantar peso, participar de um campeonato de LPO pra ganhar a primeira medalha da minha vida e o que mais surgir. Tem diversas coisas q eu não gosto de fazer, tipo correr, e eu não me obrigo nem um pouco, até onde eu sei eu não sou atleta de nada então me dou esse direito de só fazer o q me deixa feliz e me motiva. Tudo isso pra dizer q após longos anos me formei e to doida pra trabalhar com isso e trazer essa possibilidade pras pessoas e garantir que elas sejam independentes e possam dizer sim pros convites e coisas que aparecem na frente delas sem se preocupar se vão dar conta. beijos, se hidratem e se alonguem - @marianna on Instagram

Somos conscientes de lo complejo de la situación mundial pero por otra parte creemos que somos un rubro que está totalmente estigmatizado y dejado de lado sin existir pruebas feacientes de que el uso de gimnasios aumenten los contagios (por el contrario hay estudios que demuestran que esto no es así) . STORY TIME- Heading into the final day, @karipearcecrossfit was in 11th place, 49 points out from snagging the 5th and final spot to advance to Aromas for the second part of the @crossfitgames. Meanwhile @bethanycf and @daniellebrandon7 were pushing through some injuries to get wins where they could, and take experience into the upcoming season. On Saturday night, these two inspiring ladies decided that they would do whatever they could to help KP learn from each event so she could give it her best effort. They went out there and smashed Nancy, and helped Kari get her game plan. The same happened for the handstand hold and Annie. In an individual sport, (where these women are some of the best in the world) they decided as a team (unprompted) to do something bigger than themselves, and compete to the best of their abilities to help a friend who had a long shot opportunity to qualify for the next stage, succeed. Now that my 2020 season has come to a close it’s time for lots of reflecting on a long, strange year. As a human I loved competing in my home gym with all my friends and family around me. However, as an athlete, I found the online format of competition really challenging. Being able to perform without knowing what a good time for the workouts will be, or having people to pace off / push against is something I need to improve on, especially given the current landscape of CrossFit events around the world. However the weekend provided exactly what I needed, to figure out a plan of attack for the 2021 season. Starting with an idea of where I’m at after a wild year and a long time since last competing and also seeing where everyone else is and I can’t stress just how impressive the scores were across the board 😍 I’m excited for a bit of time off but actually really looking forward to getting stuck back into training. Since I have videos of all of my games workouts I thought it would be fun to do a little recap on each workout from the weekend. I do apologize for the video quality, my phone was the backup recording device, so we weren’t too worried about its setup position. Workout 1 (friendly Fran): my worst finish (5:26, 22nd place) and my proudest workout. Why? Because I went out hard and I DIED but I didn’t give up. First video you can see me walking up to the barbell for my final set of thrusters, I vividly remember feeling like my body was starting to shut down and I really didn’t want to pick up the barbell. But I said to myself “you have a choice right now, a choice to fight, or a choice to give up.” So I chose to fight. I still fell apart (like legit blackout status) and was doing singles for majority of the final set of C2B. My body may have failed but my mind DID NOT. We learned a lot from this workout and I’m seriously so proud of my effort. Ps this was only the 2nd time in my crossfit history that I’ve gotten sick from a workout🤢 (other time was open workout rowing and thrusters😆). I Also learned to always run to the finish line after the workout🤦🏼‍♀️. Think of it as a guideline. It shows you are prepared. Practice it until it feels as if you are able to just have a normal conversation.⁣ ⁣ 👉🏼Role Play. ⁣ ⁣ Repetition is the mother of all skill. AULA DE MANUAL Assim foi minha experiência treinando hoje na @crossfitpelotas . Os coaches @davidolinski e @in_mov ministraram uma aula daquelas que enche qualquer Head Coach de orgulho da equipe que tem. Era um Heavy Day de Clean and Jerk, tudo pra ser uma aula simples, monótona... #sóquenao ... uma abordagem alegre e feliz com mobilidade específica, seguida de movimentos somente com o corpo e depois com bastão e vários feedbacks individuais atendendo absolutamente todos os alunos, um por um. Só depois disso, barra vazia, mais prática, mais ENSINO (pra isso saímos de casa) e por fim, PESO PRA CIMA! Que aula! Não escrevi “que treino”, escrevi que AULA!!! Tenho muito, mas muito orgulho de estar cercado de pessoas realmente focadas em entregar um treino de excelência, dando o seu melhor a cada 45min para transformar a vida de todas as pessoas que passam lá pra melhor. Parabéns coaches pela excelente aula e obrigado por ter feito meu dia melhor como aluno, como Head Coach, como sócio-proprietário e porque não dizer como pessoa também. So a rhino and a giraffe walk into a gym... This past weekend @jcummings512 and I did the @caffeineandkilos Battle Royale. 30 minutes of pure fitness! We managed to pull out a win and earn $1000. Jenn isn’t the biggest fan of burpees or thrusters but she did what needed to be done and was able to keep up with me for the whole workout. Then I hit a big power clean at 357 lbs and she stepped up and hit an equally, if not more, impressive 202 lb power clean. • Some days things don’t go well. Sometimes they do. Saturday was a great day for us.
