Destiné à être géologue, il aura lopportunité en 1973 de remplacer au pied levé la chanteuse Nouara pour un live sur Radio Alger, il interprétera sa chanson A Vava Inou Va quil avait écrit pout elle, et le succès vint après cela, pour lentrainer dans une carrière internationale, 7 albums dont le dernier fut publié en 2017. Il est décédé aujourdhui des suites dune longue maladie pulmonaire. O último é uma pérola que fiz, durante um tempo caçando os episódios clássicos do menino do jornal. na mina opinião, é o melhor seriado que realizou Carlos.
