Etter 20 dager på tur, og litt over halvveis på denne turneen, har vi fått gleden av å møte mange mennesker med et felles mål - mindre plast i havet. Veien til målet er unikt for hvert enkelt initiativ, der balansen mellom bevisstgjøring og rydding er ulik. Noen som kan skryte på seg å ha ryddet mye og effektivt er @miljovernforbundet 👏🏻 MS Miljødronningen er et nyttig verktøy både som undervisningsarena og i forbindelse med rydding. Sammen med @inthesameboat.eco , nasjonale og internasjonale frivillige har de ryddet rundt 50 tonn (!) søppel fra Vestlandet gjennom prosjektet Levende Hav. ⠀ @rubenoddekalv og gjengen tar i mot oss med åpne armer. En lastebil rygger inn og legger igjen en container. Helidekket skal tømmes for akkumulert avfall - ting som er funnet litt her og der utenom de store aksjonene. ⠀ Allerede her er vi vitne til effektiviteten. Vips, så var dekket tømt. De frivillige er ferdige med frokosten. Sekker, kaffe og hansker hives ombord en mindre båt. De forsvinner under Puddefjordsbroen i lett tåke. ⠀ Vi ankommer i bil litt sørvest for Bergen sentrum og møter de andre. Her ligger et slags depot med mye oppsamlet søppel. Det hives effektivt i sekker og skal hentes senere. I viken ved siden av blir vi vitne til det store problemet med EPS/Isopor. Det som en gang kanskje ikke var mer enn et par fiskekasser har blitt forvandlet til det som først ser ut som sand. ⠀ Plastkranen vil forhåpentligvis en dag stenges, og problemet stadig mindre. Unfortunately polystyrene foam is captured daily in Sydney Harbour, generally it’s broken down into millions of foam balls. This is one of the larger bits of foam captured, before it can break down. All thanks to our 12 month self-funded #SydneyCityPilot. Polystyrene foam is not biodegradable and cannot be recycled, which means it ends up either in landfill or finding its way into the environment. It can easily crumble back into smaller individual pieces of plastic and can be a major problem! Yesterday morning Chula Vista Firefighters responded to reports of a vehicle that went off the freeway into a body of water. Upon arrival units located a vehicle that was submerged under water with reports of a victim trapped. The crew from E51 made the quick and appropriate decision to enter the water in an attempt to rescue the trapped victim. The “jaws of life” were used to gain access to the victim while under water. Unfortunately, by the time the patient was removed from the vehicle he was determined to be deceased. 10 years ago I moved to Whistler with a backpack, my camera and the hopes of becoming an action sports photographer. # Growing up far away from the mountains and ocean this was a far-fetched idea. (1/3) When my youngest child was four years old, we took our first trip to DisneyWorld. The older two children were excited to try all of the age-appropriate rides, but the youngest wanted more information about what each ride would entail before he boarded, and he wanted the power to decline certain rides. He had seen the giant roller coasters and had heard people screaming, and he was not a fan of putting himself in that situation. It came time for the Haunted Mansion attraction, and since the other four of us had watched that particular movie together, we wanted to ride it as a family. We assured him it would be OK, but his fear set in. He had been to a Halloween store with his dad and siblings, and the memory of those ghouls and goblins made him sure he did not want to go into a manor with “999 happy haunts.” I admit we pressured him into going on this ride, though the uncertainty of it was clearly making him uneasy. If you’ve been on it, you know that the characters in the ride are actually happy and singing, and it’s not too scary. However, he spent more than half of the ride with his face buried in my chest. And when we got off and everyone else exclaimed how awesome it was, my son didn’t say a word. He stomped off and wanted space, so I took him on the train ride around the park while the other three members of the family went on a roller coaster he didn’t want to ride. He stared off into the park and was silent for the first 15 minutes of the train ride, refusing to talk to me. I let him have his introspection, and when he finally calmed down, he said, “You shouldn’t have made me go on that. For example, blends of several different varietals were very common in many parts of Italy in the past and still are to an extent. Very often the farmer/winemaker didnt know what grapes went into the wine, which was made to sustain the very work in the fields and consumed like any other type of food. 𝗪𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭? I woke up to piano keys as a kid… My mom was always playing hymns and movie love songs. She never wrote songs, just read music, but I remember being eight or nine and having a little notebook and the immovable intention to fill it with songs. My dad taught me how to teach myself things. So I learned guitar chords off of the internet after giving up piano lessons (which I’ve recently resumed!) At the time, I just wanted to play songs, not do exercises. From there I spent many years in the basement playing around on Garageband on a Mac Mini recording myself. I was also definitely a product of the Napster revolution. I spent countless hours collecting & studying recorded music. I would seek out bootlegs and alternate versions of my favorite songs, diving deep into the musical worlds that my favorite artists created. (Easy Street supported the other half of my research.) I experimented with writing and occasionally releasing music for years until The Brodcast as we know it began in earnest around the second half of 2012. I felt a lot of that spiritual awakening energy of those Mayan calendar prophecies and such that was floating around in 2012, and my choices and inner experiences from that time have really shaped my life and work since. Collaboration has always been a bedrock of the process, with different producers and singers like Holly The Riot (who caught a CD I threw out from the stage once.) I’ve been developing this project for years now, but I’ve also been really focused on developing myself as a person; learning to cook, reading books, exploring different spiritual traditions, getting some therapy, working in restaurants, building good habits, and learning how to relate with people in healthy ways. So, while The Brodcast has been guiding all of my life decisions and is with me constantly as a priority, it’s all about an evenly paced, sustainable build to me. This is my life’s work and I am in no hurry. I’m not too worried about hits or numbers. I love the process, I love deepening into the craft, and I love being alive. FRUIT AND VEG JAM!! 🍇 🥕 . . Hey everyone! Do you like nice food pics? If yes probably unfollow me 😂. Do your kids like jam? Do you want them to eat more vegetables? If yes I have the answer! Jam made with fruits and sweet veg! Lots of hidden veggie requests - this is for you ❤️My kids love this jam. And it’s so full of goodness. As with all recipes you can always adapt to make it even more picky eater friendly by: . 🍯 Adding honey to make more sweet . . 🥕 Use very small amounts of veg at first and build up. If you have a very restricted eater - this is the perfect recipe for you because you can literally start with one slice of carrot in there in build it up over a long period of time - see it as a process . . 🍓 Use fruits your child loves and is familiar with in jam form like strawberries so it’s not too overwhelming . . 🌪 Blend it all up so it’s really smooth with no chia seed texture . . 🥕Carrots and beetroots are sweet veg when steamed so are perfect veggies for a jam. Jack doesn’t eat beetroot in its pure form. So I love that he inhales this! . . 🤦♀️Swipe to see an average day of me trying to get a nice food pic - hence the reason I now just give up on trying to actually make an effort with food photography 🤣🤣🤣. They literally grabbed the prop carrots and started to use the jam as a dip 😂 Hope you guys give it a go ❤️ . . INGREDIENTS: 2 cups of berries - we used raspberries organic 1 or 2 small beetroots peeled/ steamed chopped 2 carrots peeled /steamed chopped 3 apples cooked can peel if skin texture is an issue Juice of 1 orange Honey to taste optional 5 TBSP chia seeds or ground flax seeds . . METHOD: - Place berries in a saucepan with the seeds and orange juice and cook on low heat until they’re mushy and not too liquidy Add apples and veggies - Mash with a masher everything together until it’s jam like and combined with no big bits - you can blend if you prefer - Add raw honey when cool if using - Store in sealed glass jar in fridge for around a week 🥕🍒🍇🍓🍎 - @thehappyhealthyunicorn on Instagram

Hoge metalen constructies, omgebouwde tankwagens, klimbuizen, schommels, een deathride van 25 meter en nog veel meer! Er zijn sanitaire voorzieningen en tot 27 september kan je op woensdag, zaterdag en zondagnamiddag iets drinken in de Heldenbar uitgebaat door Tiense verenigingen. Er is ook nog een tweede speeltuin en een peuterspeeltuin. 😷 Er wordt gevraagd om afstand te houden. Wanneer je drinken haalt in de Heldenbar is een mondmasker verplicht.
