We have a duty as sportsmen to to help build back our deer and elk heards! In my opinion they are the hardest animal in Idaho to hunt. But that isnt an excuse to not try! A couple months ago, our patient came to us with a unique case. She has CRPS (pain syndrome) affecting her leg below the knee making it incredibly painful to bear weight on that leg. She informed us that people with a similar situation end up getting amputations. However, she did not want to go this route. By collaborating with her, we came up with this very unique device. It has characteristics of an AK socket and KAFO attached to a prosthetic foot. I have had my @rambo_bikes since 2017 and have never gotten to use it for what it’s intended for until last week. In that last video I have a hind quarter strapped to my back (about 110 pounds) one of the front shoulder strapped to the rack on the back (about 65 pounds) and rode it all the way down the hill. What a lamb season!!! If you combine my years of showing lambs with my older boys and now my 3 younger kiddos, we have 20ish years of lamb shows. This year will certainly be remembered!!!! Cloe received our family’s 1st Star Choice!!!!! And Ryder and Gerrett both placed 3rd in their classes. Both 1 spot away from Star Choice. This is one PROUD Mom. These kiddos have been walking their lambs in the early mornings since June. They weigh their feed, scrub their water buckets and clean the lambs pens and never complain. 📚🔬 Taping for Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome ℹ️ℹ️ BACKGROUND: Patellofemoral pain syndrome (PFPS) is characterized by anterior knee pain and/or pain in the retro-patellar and/or peri-patellar region. ℹ️ Pain typically increases with activities such as: Squatting. Kneeling. Stair climbing. Prolonged sitting. ℹ️ The underlying causes of PFPS are multifactorial and may be associated with biomechanical and or neurophysiological changes at the pelvis, hip, knee or ankle regions. ℹ️ Taping is frequently used as part of the multi-modal management for PFPS, including: McConnell Patellofemoral Joint Taping (PFJT). Tibial Internal Rotation Limitation Taping (TIRLT). ℹ️ Clifford et al. (2020), investigated the effects of TIRLT, PFJT and no taping on perceived pain and lower limb kinematics during a lunge and single leg squat (SLS) in people with PFPS. 🔬🔬 METHODS: This cross-sectional study compared the effects of TIRLT, PFJT and no taping, on knee pain and lower limb kinematics during two pain-provoking movements in people with PFPS. 🔬 Participants with PFPS (n = 23) performed a lunge and SLS under three randomised conditions: TIRLT, PFJT and no taping. 🔬 The Codamotion system captured and analysed lower limb kinematic data in the sagittal, transverse and coronal planes. 🔬 Peak knee pain intensity during the movement was assessed using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). 📊📊 RESULTS: Participants reported significantly less pain with the TIRLT and PFJT techniques compared with no tape during the lunge and SLS. 📊 There was no evidence of altered lower limb kinematics accompanying pain reductions with either taping technique. ✅✅ CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Both forms of taping may be useful adjuncts as the short-term benefit of pain relief may enable participation in more active forms of rehabilitation. 🧠🧠 Thoughts? LOWER BODY ARSENAL ⠀⠀ Während ich aktuell 2 Lower Sessions auf 8 Tage habe, trainieren einige Unterkörper-dominante Athleten diesen nur 1x oder „1 1/2“x pro Woche. Ich denke, ich werde bis 2023, zumindest phasenweise, auch mal so fahren. Volumen ist aktuell eher niedrig, Intensitäten hoch. ⠀ Smith Machine Squats als primäres Squat-Pattern, nachdem der HBS wieder rausgeflogen ist. 3ct Exzentriken und als nicht pausierte Variante, also nicht wie in der Vergangenheit. Ein schweres Top-Set und ein leichteres Back-Off ohne Intra Set Pause, zu sehen im Video. ⠀⠀ Eine SSB oder eine Hack wären nice aber ich habe aktuell nicht die Möglichkeit, diese auszuführen. So wurde es jetzt die Smith Machine, welche auf ein hervorragendes Squat Pattern sein kann. ⠀ Dazu Beinpresse-Variationen, quad-dominant bilateral und eher etwas glute-lastiger unilateral. Erstere auch als „No Intra Set Pause“ Variante, aber eben auch regulär mit standardisierten Intra Set Pausen. ⠀ Rest Pause Leg Extensions als Finisher. ⠀ Ich beginne meine Sessions immer mit einem Hamstring Movement, entweder einem Leg-Curl oder RDL. Aktuell ein schwerer Top-Satz RDL gefolgt von einem etwas leichterem pausierten Back-Off. Dazu, neben der bilateralen, noch eine unilaterale Leg-Curl Variante. ⠀ Adduktoren werden 2x isoliert trainiert. Ausschließlich Myo-Reps. 3 Sätze total pro Session. 1 Aktivierungssatz und 2 Sätze AMRAP mit jeweils 5 tiefen Atemzügen Pause. ⠀ Glutes trainiere ich aktuell nicht spezifisch, die kriegen genug Overlap ab. ⠀ Meine Waden wachsen eigentlich immer, solange ich sie kontinuierlich trainiere. Klar spielt hier Genetik, wie sonst auch, eine große Rolle, aber viele trainieren ihre Waden auch einfach unkontinuierlich. Klar wachsen deine Waden nicht wenn du sie jede zweite Einheit skippst. Alles Gewohnheit. ⠀⠀ Jeweils am Ende der Session, auch ausschließlich Myo-Reps. Programme eigentlich nie reguläre straight Sets für Waden. Mache sie aktuell beide Sessions an einer stack-loaded Beinpresse: schnelles Set-Up + keine Axiallast. Kontrollierte pausierte Reps, volle ROM und Adhäranz und deine Waden werden wachsen. - n January 2018, a man was brought to an ER for broken right femur. It woulnt be so ridiculous if not the fact that in 1995 this guy accidently shot his right calf during hunting and broke it. It was fixated with Ilizarov aparatus and sent home, but was too afraid of operation and never came back

Any other year we’d be en route to the Pacific Northwest making our first of a few pilgrimages to the northwest for hop harvest. It’s an annually inspiring series of trips where we get to hang with friends and farmers, visit hop yards and ultimately make our annual hop selections. An integral part of our brewing ethos where we sort through different lots of different varieties looking for the most primo product to brew with. This year we will once again be hand selecting lots for more than a dozen unique varieties, but will be doing so remotely here in Austin for more reasons than one. First up, sorting through some fresh cuts of Strata & Amarillo overnighted from our amigos @royfarms_hops! We’ll be doing more selections in the coming days and weeks as we hunt for the most expressive hops can get our sticky hands on for 2021 as they come off the bine. Our hearts go out to all our hop growing pals in the Pac Northwest who have been so affected by the current wildfires.
