I always fact check myself before forming an opinion. I always base my decisions from logic, not emotion. I always form my opinions based off of the source material given, first hand experience, and outside research. Then I make an analysis of the three (weighing the importance accordingly) Groupthink can be a huge issue, and thinking your emotional ties to an argument can be an issue as well. A lot of people look for a confirmation bias, and not to have dialogue about what’s going on. This happens way to often, and often ends in no discussion for either argument. Think not only from what you see on social media, but what makes sense logically. Use the information and data that has been proven to be true time and time again, and take into consideration the reality of the topic you are deciding on. There are also journalling exercises, colouring-in, recipes, craft activities and a stamped-addressed envelope and postcards so that they can stay in touch with us and their friends. We are also putting together digital resources to share weekly over the seven weeks of the summer holidays, to help young people to express themselves through music, and connect with us and each other. With these resources, we hope to spark joy 🌟, and support positive mental health and creativity in a time of real hardship for many. The City of Topeka has partnered with several downtown restaurants to provide curbside pickup of to-go orders for patrons practicing social distancing and restauranteurs seeking sales while complying with a restriction on gatherings of more than 50 people due to COVID-19 concerns. “I’m pleased that the City of Topeka can help our downtown businesses to stay open and provide food services while promoting social distancing and creating a safe environment for our citizens,” said City Manager Brent Trout. The City of Topeka has pledged to reserve two parking stalls in front of each participating downtown eating establishment, including restaurants, coffee shops, sandwich shops and bars that serve food. Parking stalls will be designated by orange cones and a red and white sign that says “15 min food pickup only”. “A big ‘Thank You’ to whoever came up with this idea. At this juncture, we should do anything we can to help our employees,” said Doug Thomas owner of The Classic Bean. Joey Greeve in Traffic Operations worked with Kent Pelton in Parking to make and place the signs in front of restaurants.
