Myrtle is a PLACE Queen 👑! 3+ consecutive hours of place work yesterday with only a handful of times she got off and needed to be guided back. Adopt her from @k94keeps 💜 I cannot believe I had been living without the PLACE command for YEARS! Finn is usually hanging out near/on me and tends to get anxious if I do any more cleaning than a quick vacuum session. He used to pace and ring his potty bells incessantly. This was especially tough when I had to pack and unpack after our November move. The potty bells are no longer on the door. Finn learning place has truly been a lifesaver! this is my dog rufio...yesterday he turned 10 yrs old...i got him when he was 6 weeks old...he’s lived with me in upstate NY, chicago, LA & has driven round the country with me...a lot has changed in my life over the last 10 years but Rufio has been one of the few true constants...a few months ago his fur was thinning, he didn’t want to go on long walks & i noticed some lumps growing in his stomach...after some very stressful weeks, going back and forth to the vet multiple times, they diagnosed him with cushings disease...he started medication about 4-5 weeks ago and he is now doing great; thicker coat, more energy(see shirt vid of him playing fetch) & the lumps are shrinking...and although i dnt give him table scraps anymore, we broke the rule and cooked him a ribeye steak last night(see the video of him devouring 1/2 of it in 15 seconds)...anyways, the world is crazy and a lot of doom and gloom has descended upon many of us...here is my silver lining and constant mood booster...i love this dog like no other so everybody wish Rufio a very happy 10th birthday & have a BANGARANG day 🎉 🎉 🥩 - @theebriceisrite on Instagram

Today my sweet girl weighed in at 25.5 kg, or 56 lbs! That’s almost 4 kg (10 lbs!) up from her lowest point almost two months ago. We do not know what caused her IBD, or why, as she had been eating the same food for years without issue. She’s on a different food and multiple supplements to help her digestion and amino acid levels. We are still figuring out what’s okay in her diet now and what isn’t, as it seems she has a much more sensitive system now... which is perfectly okay as we’re heading in the right direction. After the vet today, she got to come to physical therapy, which she enjoys much more than she looks like she is in the photo! - @rosieposiepit on Instagram
The gorgeous Pippa is our newest Squaddie. This lucky girl is a Romanian rescue dog who came to live with her amazing mums less than two weeks ago. She’s bonded with her mums already but is understandably nervous of us. At our first visit on Tuesday she wouldn’t come near us but today, she came and sat behind me and I managed to stroke her. It’s a great day to save lives! 💜 Today, our tails are wagging a little harder because after 158 days at SAPA! Kimber found her fur-ever! Kimber’s sweet brown eyes could easily melt your heart, but not everybody was her cup of tea. This dog was having a hard time socializing and getting along with her other furry friends. Being a very confident dog, she had trouble playing with more submissive dogs, and she seemed scared of people. However, when behavioral specialist, Rebel K9 Academy, evaluated her, things were looking up for Kimber. Soon enough, she was able to get out of the kennels and into a foster home. Her social skills were improving, and during her stay, her foster family started falling in love with Kimber and just couldn’t let her go. Meet Delta! This recently adopted BARCS alum is living it up in her new furever home. Her mom tells us, Delta is doing absolutely fantastic! Her day is full of naps and walks and toys. She loves her food and has learned new commands such as sit, wait and down. She had an amazing interaction with another dog and played so nicely. Delta has also found a love for steak (just a one time treat). She met my lizard and they got along great. She’s also met many people and gotten so many pets from them. Do the work, get the reward! Our dog Maui had to have ACL surgery like the elite athlete that he is! Post-surgery movement and rehab is crucial to the success of the procedure so you better believe we were doing everything we could to ensure proper healing. He had his two week follow-up and is now able to take his cone off and start going on walks again! He (and our walls) will be so glad that he is not bashing into everything anymore. How do you say goodbye to your best friend? This is the day I’ve dreaded for so long, I have to say goodbye to Ike tomorrow and I don’t know how I’m going to get through it. Ike was diagnosed with degenerative myelopathy early last year... very similar to ALS. This disease sucked the joy out of him....nothing made him happier than running around the yard and DM took that away from him. Dogs can speak to you with only a look...and the way he looks at me now tells me he’s ready....as much as I want to ignore it. First walk toward my 10k Goal for @savingtheelephantsrun 3.91mile beach walk with @hana_bananah and my super cute niece Arwyn.
