S.M.A.R.T. Goals All of us have previously set goals in life that we failed to achieve. Sometimes due to external circumstances, sometimes due to a change in priorities or simply due to lack of organisation and motivation. However, people often also fail because their goals are not well defined. In this video our trainer and general manager @ashykirby breaks down the concept of S.M.A.R.T goals. S.M.A.R.T is an acronym for: ۰ Specific: Well defined, clear and unambiguous . e.g. Weight loss or muscle gain or getting better at a particular lift. ۰ Measurable: within specific criteria e.g. lose 2kg. ۰ Achievable: Attainable and not impossible to achieve. ۰ Realistic: within reach given all important variables/constraints. 2kg weight loss in 2 months is realistic for most healthy people. ۰ Timely: with clearly defined timeline including a start and end date. Once you have SMART goal it becomes a lot easier to focus on execution and keep yourself accountable, which means you are much more likely to actually achieve it. It’s a difficult time for many Londoners at the moment during the Coronavirus outbreak, but especially so for people who are #homeless in the capital and living on its streets. Today we’re announcing £10,000 in special funding (split between 5 partner charities) so that vulnerable people can continue to receive help during the COVID-19 pandemic. Lots of day centres have had to close their doors, due to the risk of homeless people infecting each other when in close proximity, plus risk to staff without proper PPE. However, many charities have found new ways to continue helping people: * Placing rough sleepers in hotels where possible (which are currently empty while there are no tourists) then getting food to them while theyre there, and providing overnight staff * Outreach teams providing help to rough sleepers who are still out on the streets: bringing them food, offering help with getting their meds/prescription drugs, providing warm clothing, medical attention and other support * Providing mobile phones to people so they can report feeling unwell and can stay in touch for support more generally (centres are continuing to case-work clients remotely where possible, offering phone-based advice, advocacy and emotional support) A big thank you to our supporters for making this vital help possible, more so than ever at this challenging time for people who are homeless on Londons streets. #Tackling #Homelessness - @streetsofl on Instagram

I was/am a fatherless child and I believe Sgt.Mike not only has filled my life with so much golden gems but many of my other high schools friends lives. It’s when you look back and everything makes sense on how life was talked about. I was a teenager who didn’t believe in myself until someone believed in me. I know that feeling very well. That was such a huge lesson for me as a teenager. The power of someone owning total faith in you. And now I see this circumstance pop out in my life, again and again in my own little world now after several years. I believe in my people so much I wish they knew the extent of how I feel about them. That’s why I don’t give up. Even when times get tough I stay because it is easier to leave than stay. LOWER BODY ARSENAL ⠀⠀ Während ich aktuell 2 Lower Sessions auf 8 Tage habe, trainieren einige Unterkörper-dominante Athleten diesen nur 1x oder „1 1/2“x pro Woche. Ich denke, ich werde bis 2023, zumindest phasenweise, auch mal so fahren. Volumen ist aktuell eher niedrig, Intensitäten hoch. ⠀ Smith Machine Squats als primäres Squat-Pattern, nachdem der HBS wieder rausgeflogen ist. 3ct Exzentriken und als nicht pausierte Variante, also nicht wie in der Vergangenheit. Ein schweres Top-Set und ein leichteres Back-Off ohne Intra Set Pause, zu sehen im Video. ⠀⠀ Eine SSB oder eine Hack wären nice aber ich habe aktuell nicht die Möglichkeit, diese auszuführen. So wurde es jetzt die Smith Machine, welche auf ein hervorragendes Squat Pattern sein kann. ⠀ Dazu Beinpresse-Variationen, quad-dominant bilateral und eher etwas glute-lastiger unilateral. Erstere auch als „No Intra Set Pause“ Variante, aber eben auch regulär mit standardisierten Intra Set Pausen. ⠀ Rest Pause Leg Extensions als Finisher. ⠀ Ich beginne meine Sessions immer mit einem Hamstring Movement, entweder einem Leg-Curl oder RDL. Aktuell ein schwerer Top-Satz RDL gefolgt von einem etwas leichterem pausierten Back-Off. Dazu, neben der bilateralen, noch eine unilaterale Leg-Curl Variante. ⠀ Adduktoren werden 2x isoliert trainiert. Ausschließlich Myo-Reps. 3 Sätze total pro Session. 1 Aktivierungssatz und 2 Sätze AMRAP mit jeweils 5 tiefen Atemzügen Pause. ⠀ Glutes trainiere ich aktuell nicht spezifisch, die kriegen genug Overlap ab. ⠀ Meine Waden wachsen eigentlich immer, solange ich sie kontinuierlich trainiere. Klar spielt hier Genetik, wie sonst auch, eine große Rolle, aber viele trainieren ihre Waden auch einfach unkontinuierlich. Klar wachsen deine Waden nicht wenn du sie jede zweite Einheit skippst. Alles Gewohnheit. ⠀⠀ Jeweils am Ende der Session, auch ausschließlich Myo-Reps. Programme eigentlich nie reguläre straight Sets für Waden. Mache sie aktuell beide Sessions an einer stack-loaded Beinpresse: schnelles Set-Up + keine Axiallast. Kontrollierte pausierte Reps, volle ROM und Adhäranz und deine Waden werden wachsen.
