JOP (jongeren ontmoeting plaat) aan de Oude Groenestraat te Nijmegen. Vaak praten we OVER de jeugd in plaats van met de JEUGD. Ik heb veel klachten ontvangen de afgelopen weken. De jongens die ik net toevallig heb gesproken zijn reëel en durven aan te geven dat ze soms dingen doen die niet mogen/gewenst zijn. Is het overlast of zijn ze op ontdekkingsreis..? Ze geven aan ten alle tijden open te staan voor een dialoog. Ze zeggen dat het de toon is die de muziek maakt en actie/reactie. We zijn allemaal jong geweest dus kunnen ons vast deels verplaatsen in de jeugd. Daarnaast zijn het allemaal wijkbewoners en dus misschien wel de zoon/dochter/neef/nicht van jou(w) / buren. Wat ik wil zeggen is.... laten we elkaar met respect aanspreken op elkaars gedrag. Zodat we elkaar begrijpen en samen tot een oplossing kunnen komen. Story time :: 5 years ago today. Woke up at 4:30am in Rotterdam and ran the last 65km of 3,174km after starting in Barcelona 4 months earlier, to finish in Amsterdam. @sharon_koelewyn had flown over from the UK the night before to push me along, even after popping a blister in her shoe at 50km, she kept charging! What a machine 🙌🏻💪🏻 @iesstagram welcoming us at the end like the legend she is. Running across Europe got some attention that helped raise $16,000 for @artsaccessaust , the national peak body for arts and disability in Australia. What I respect A LOT about artists is that the do something about their ideas and go all-in. Anyone with that approach to anything, I get super excited around. Some of it comes from thinking a lot about death, mostly about what we might think about if we’re lucky enough to have the chance to reflect at the end. I just know I’ll be fuuuucking pissed if I didn’t go full-gas and all-in on everything I tried. Vandaag hebben wij het Eeskoterpad verkend, een echt klompenpad met veel bos, veel hoogteverschil en leuke smalle paadjes. Het natuurschoon langs de route verandert van groene bospaden tot paarse heidevlaktes. Langs de route kwamen wij fijne rustplaatsen tegen zoals bankjes en picknicktafels, met prachtige vergezichten (swipe). Hoewel s ochtends de poncho geen overbodige luxe bleek, hebben wij de rest van de route droog kunnen bewandelen. De afstand hebben wij vandaag voor het gemak afgerond naar 23 km, het pad is 19km in totaal. Let op: het is voor deze route zeker aan te raden de Klompenpaden-app te gebruiken, omdat sommige paaltjes wat verscholen staan. Did 3 days of a 4 day hike around the beaches of Camano Island from June 27-30. Had a great time. It was very beautiful weather was great had lots of great conversations and meet lots of people. My friend Jason Dorsey organized the whole adventure and walked the whole way. I think he must have gotten the idea when researching his book The Beaches of Camano. He decided to do it now when he had to cancel a trip he had planned with his daughter to drive along the coast painting along the way. Thank you Jason for inviting us. My son @xavierlikescats did all 4 days. This wasnt a easy hike the different terrain proved very painful if you didnt have the correct footwear. You need a pair of water shoes for when the tide is in and ankle high boots for the fist size rocks. The first day all I had was water shoes with no padding and the last few miles was all rocks. Every step was pure pain. My son was had his tennis shoes by then but was still in pain. I missed Sunday. I brought my and my sons hiking boots back for Monday and Tuesday and what a difference. - @iamdismas on Instagram

Last week I said that Idlewild was the hardest course I’d ever played. That opinion lasted until my first round at Northwoods Gold, so about 4 days. Wow - what a track! It was so hard, but I LOVED IT! Hole #12 is one of the best holes ever and I played it with 3 straight MD shots and a P2 jump putt lay-up then a tap-in for par. I know I could birdie it with fairway drivers but didn’t want to risk taking a really high number. See you next year #12. Eureka Lake beat me up in Round 3 and I don’t have a great reason why. Everything felt off - my drives were all coming out low and I missed 5 C1 putts. Tack on 8 OB strokes and that’s a recipe for my worst round in more than 2 years. I dropped from 11th place to 56th. This definitely changed my approach to Sunday knowing I was now fighting to finish higher in the cash. Since I struggled with my DD3’s on Saturday I decided to use PD2’s on Sunday and it was the right move. My PD2’s were my MVD of the round. I knew I could count on their stability to keep me in bounds. If it weren’t for a bad OB roll-away on hole #17 after driving it to 15 feet, I’d have shot the highest rated tournament round of my career. 11 birdies, 1 bogey and 6 pars was a great way to finish. It was 1078 rated - and my highest is 1079 - so nearly my best ever and I jumped 35 spots to finish 21st. What a roller coaster ride! I love being out on tour and I’m feeling really good about my season so far. I’m really excited to head to Vermont for the Green Mountain Championship in a few weeks. I’m going to enjoy a little R&R at home this week and get myself ready for the last half of the tour. Thank you to my sponsors for making this tour a reality for me. Kleiner Zwischenbericht: Zwei Wochen und zwei Tage ist es jetzt her, dass ich mir auf einer Radtour zwischen Bubach im Ostertal und Krottelbach im Ohmbachtal in der Pfalz auf einer Abfahrt einen dreifachen Becken- und Schambeinbruch zugezogen habe, als ich einem plötzlich kreuzenden Reh auswich und dabei zu Fall kam (dem Reh ist nix passiert...). Nach sechs Tagen in der Uniklinik Homburg, wo ich super betreut wurde (Dankeschön an das tolle Team um Prof. Tim Pohlemann, alle Pflegekräfte bis hin zum einfühlsamen, aber auch motivierenden Physio, Herrn Morschett) konnte ich Mittwochs schon heim. Am Feiertag ruhte ich mich noch ein wenig aus, freitags war ich dann wieder am Schreibtisch. Seitdem mache ich täglich Fortschritte, die Arbeit erledige ich halbtags im Büro, ansonsten von zu Hause aus im Home-Office. Das klappt prima dank der tollen Unterstützung meiner Kolleginnen und Kollegen im Rathaus - meine Beigeordneten @lisahensler_hallo und Thomas Hans nehmen mir all die Dinge ab, die ich aufgrund meiner Einschränkung nicht selbst machen kann. Auch dafür danke ich herzlich! Bei der Reha bin ich bei Gunther Deubel und seinem Team von http://www.reha-deubel.de in besten Händen. Ich merke wirklich derzeit täglich, wie das Becken immer stabiler wird. Allem Anschein nach sitzen die Bruchstellen gut und die Kallusbildung schreitet voran. Die Schmerzmitteldosis kann ich schon spürbar zurückfahren. Trotzdem gilt es jetzt Geduld zu bewahren und die fragile Region nicht zu früh wieder zuviel zu belasten (bis die Brüche komplett geheilt sind, kann es bis zu einem Jahr oder sogar länger dauern). Aber das krieg ich hin, da passen sowieso alle um mich herum auf wie ein Schießhund! 😉#roadtorecovery - @joerg.aumann on Instagram

Ещё одно место в Крыму, где стоит побывать - тропа, ведущая через Свято-Успенский мужской монастырь по ущелью Мариам-Дере. На пути расположено древнее Караимское кладбище Балта-Тиймез. По разным данным, первые захоронения здесь появились в X - XIII веке, и некрополь активно действовал до XIX века. Сейчас тут по разным оценкам от 5 до 10 тысяч захоронений. Минуя его и двигаясь дальше по дороге со снующими туристическими уазиками, мы вскоре вышли на смотровые площадки, с которых открываются просто нереальные виды. В условно пешей доступности здесь вообще много всего интересного. Это плато пещерного города Тепе Кермен, средневековый город-крепость Мангуп кале, Сюйреньская крепость, пещерный город Эски Кермен, пещерный монастырь Качи Кальон, город Чуфут-кале. Ну, и сам Бельбекский каньон, конечно. В общем, очередная жемужина Крыма. Вернее, целое ожерелье. 🙏 - @alivejuly on Instagram

Today, for the first time since March, I took a long walk on the Monon Trail. As a once near daily user of this public space, it was really nice to be back on. There was the occasional puppy being socialized ; the all too frequent speeding bike rider whizzing by in full peleton riding regalia; and lots of walkers including our mayor, @mayorjoeforindy . Most of the people were cautiously spaced out and had their face masks at the ready in case people were forced to bunch up momentarily. Over a decade ago we lived on the trail in a townhouse easily identified by its black and white awnings. I loved it he didn’t and we ended up moving but one of my favorite things about that house was the number of balconies overlooking the trail. I used to sit out on those balconies and “eavesdrop” on the conversations people were having while they walk – it was amazing how much tea was spilled, how loud they spoke and for how long I could hear them. At some point I started writing down those conversation snippets, thinking I would one day write a series of short stories, each based on the assumptions I was making about their lives. Long after we moved, I was on the trail for my daily walk. As I was coming up to three people I saw one of them point to our old house saying “that’s where Martha Hoover lives” to which one of the other trio members replied “she’s a huge bitch”. Mind you, we not only did not live there, but I didn’t know them/they didn’t know me. As I passed them on their left, I turned and smiling said “Hi! I moved seven years ago”, and kept on going. I also in that moment decided that writing a book based merely on assumptions was maybe a dangerous folly. - @marthashoover on Instagram

Happy Foster Friday! This week we were not only able to save 1 wheelie dog but 2! Everyone meet Whisky and Dobbie (FKA Foxy). Whisky is an 8 year old Corgi. Unfortunately one of his owners passed away and that’s when we stepped in. His days are spent sleeping/dreaming about yummy cat food, peeing and pooping outside in record timing (yes he can do that on his own) and exercising/walking around the block because he’s not used to going on walks but his foster @chibi_moon_718 is on a mission for him to walk more and lose 10lbs! Dobbie is believed to be around 4 years old. She was dumped at @nycacc when her owners didn’t want her anymore because she had recently lost the use of her hind legs 🤬 When we picked her up at the shelter, all the employees said she was a staff favorite and right away we knew why. SHE IS PERFECT! This was a very strange day. I was deep in feeling. Revisiting old spots that I hadn’t seen for years. It felt familiar but with an undertone of science fiction. The park was full of families. But they were walking obediently around the lake in a designated direction due to Covid. Everything seems almost too beautiful. Ducks swimming in heart shaped circles. People fishing with little poles in the lake artificially stocked with trout. And on every bench a shiny brass memorial gleaming in the sun. I felt for a moment that maybe this was heaven.
