I don’t know about you guys but i feel like it’s been a really hard week. I can’t exactly put my finger on what it is but it’s just been tougher than normal. I sort of get it.. This isn’t how anyone saw their year going. I think we hoped (maybe somewhat naively) by now there would be some semblance of normality back in the air- maybe we hoped we’d all be enjoying our planned summer trips abroad without consequence? Or spending carefree time with our loved ones laughing, hugging & catching up on lost time. & it’s not like that at all really is it? But there is definitely something in the air. But it’s not hope or the prospect of better times ahead. There is a real anger in the air. It’s like so many people just feel super frustrated & they are looking for an outlet- for something or someone to take it out on. Prowling for anything to project this disappointment on to. People have missed holidays, have had weddings cancelled, been separated from their friends & families for months, people have lost their jobs & most devastatingly of all people have lost their lives. As a nation we are probably still abit scared, confused & it just feels like we’re going backwards. I don’t know what the answer is, I don’t know exactly what tomorrow holds & how Covid is going to keep on affecting the world- but I do know this, it is not going to be made better by us venting our misguided frustrations across social media & spreading anger & hate throughout these platforms. We all have enough to contend with right now without adding to this with unnecessary negativity & cruel comments- you have no idea how a person is feeling, how they may be struggling & what your seemingly flippant but completely callous words can do to them. Kindness is not going to cure Covid, I know that- but practising a little bit more of it can’t hurt can it? I feel like there’s a distinct absence of it across social media at the moment & it’s a real shame. We should be being there for each other, Helping build each other up & spreading some positivity- instead of finding reasons to tear each other down. Closing outyour budget is sometimes frustrating, but its also a critical step in the process. After you have a working budget in your life, and you have formed those budgeting habits, you need to take it one step further. Closing out your budget accomplishes three major things. 1. It makes you aware of any problem areas of your spending that needs special attention. Once you can identify what needs to be changed, you can take the action steps in the future to correct them. 2. It will tell you in a very blunt way if your spending is aligning with your financial goals. The easy part about budgeting is making sure your bills are paid. The harder part is establishing important financial goals in your life and making sure youre throwing your dollars towards reaching those goals. 3. You can find dollars that are left behind. When you close out your budget you get to compare the amounts you expected to spend against what you actually spent. I showed the power of this on my stories yesterday morning and will be saving that video to my IGTV channel today. So, if you are like me, and are closing out your budgets today, dont get hung up on the one cent. It doesnt have to be a perfect process. It just needs to bring that financial awareness into your life. You WILL get better and faster at closing out your budget the more times you do it. Poppy my other furbaby and I love him dearly, Teddy has had a few challenges with walking on the lead, high levels of anxiety and communication issues. Teddy is blind in one eye and deaf. What I can say is that it has been a tough road for Teddy but day by day he is doing much better. Teddy is learning to recognise signs to stop, come, happy/cuddle time and food so far. I can’t believe I’m writing this and I have battled with whether or not to do a post but I cannot not honour my gorgeous girl. Doing this weirdly helps in some way and also is a chance to let most people know all in one hit. This morning we said goodbye to Pita. She came into my life by complete accident and then ran away with my heart, smashing it to tiny bits when hers refused to work anymore. She was the kindest, most clever, fun loving chihuahua who really changed peoples opinions of what they thought were a snappy breed. Including my own. She is an advert for deciding to rescue a dog as she shows they don’t all have to come with issues as she had zero. She was just perfect. The day after sadly saying goodbye to Shadow she started having problems breathing which was a sign her already diagnosed heart condition was taking hold so I rushed her back to the vets and by the evening we thought we were going to put her to sleep. But no, Pita wasn’t ready - I spent some time with her there and she relaxed a bit and was trying to steal treats from my pocket even! Neither she nor I were ready. So we brought her home to have her best last night with some of her best people and we snuggled her one last time before saying our proper goodbyes this morning. Thank you for everything Pita and I am so glad I walked into my shift that morning and we found each other. I wouldn’t change one day. Rest in peace 💔💔💔 - @thepetpa on Instagram
