The whole camp was such a great learning experience. Not only as an instructor in training but also as a paddler. There is so much you need to think about when paddling out at sea. From weather and wind to tides and currents. Planning our trips took almost as much time as paddling them. But I guess thats half the fun right? 2013 U21 Worlds. Almost all of the guys that made the final are in the Pro Men field today. Fun fact, walking down to the start dock for the finals my ski slipped out of my hands, landed right on the fin and then bounced and rolled a couple more times. A colony of Little Penguins (in Middle Island, Australia) decreased from 600 to 10 birds in only 5 years! This was because they were preyed on by red foxes and conservationists attempted to save the little penguin population by killing the foxes through poison, fumigation, traps, and even guns. ~~~~~~ None of that worked. Until...... They brought sheepdogs to guard the penguins. 🥺 How cute is that? ~~~~~~ Since it was implemented in 2006, the foxes no longer prey on the little penguin colony and their population is over 100.
