CSA veg box week 8 In week 8s box we managed to include spring onions, potatoes (early main Gatsby), carrots, beetroots, turnips, cabbage, chard, lettuce head, lettuce leaf salad mix with nasturtium and rocket, yellow and green courgettes, broad beans, garlic, chives and coriander. The broccoli has sprouted with smaller heads after I harvested the main head last week, quite fast growth - enough for this weeks boxes😊. I am very glad to have broccoli for two weeks 😎. Last Saturday we took part @innscrossmarket with @explorer_tee and it was great. Turnout was amazing and most of all we got to meet local businesses. Thank you @babblemarketing for the invitations, I hope there will be more markets where we can work together. Our farm shop this Saturday will have the usual selection of organic veggies and maybe the first green beans might make an appearance. As usual, we have beautiful organically grown flower bouquets from the garden and artfully crafted by @flowersofelegance. Lorraine @thewalledgardenhelensbay will have her tasty homemade treats and dressings partially made with produce from the veggie garden. Last week the beetroot relish was a hit. Come and join us to share our hard works worth😎😊. Both cash and card payments are accepted at the market. Last week and this week most of my dear volunteers were busy with life and I feel how much burden theyve been lifting of me. Im ever so grateful to have you all @wyrd_and_wanderful @explorer_tee @michael_rauch @tonefloreal @judithrebekahc @_lindsay_fulton @aaron_haigh Lynda , Aideen, Jackie, Marie, and William. While succulents are famous for their drought-resistance, they still need proper care to grow healthy. Particularly the Echeveria kind need extra care to stay happy and healthy. Below you will find some tips for your echeveria plantcare ~1st it is important to consider the location before adding these plants to your collection. Since these succulents are native to Central America and Mexico, they are more likely to survive in the similar climate. In other words, echeverias will die or wont grow good indoors. ~2nd Echeverias love the full morning sun, make sure to avoid afternoon sunlight especially in the dry season. Intense sunlight may affect your Echeverias health and can even burn the plant. In case the damage to leaves is severe, it is best to trim out the burned leaves. Not to worry; a new stalk will start to re-grow. ~3th Water the soil but not too much, make sure that the water does not sit in the rosettes of your Echeverias. Note that, excessive watering can make the plant rot. Even worse, it can lead to fungal diseases that can even kill your echeverias over time. While watering, you need to ensure that you do not water again until the potting mix feels dry. ~4th Like some other succulents, Echeverias do not require fertilizer. However, if you mix it in the soil, keep in mind that too much of fertilizer can burn the leaves of your plant. Therefore, add only a slow-release fertilizer in little quantity to your plant. THE BOTTOM LINE here is that Although growing echeverias is easy, they need to be cared properly to thrive. Therefore, make sure to provide your plant with the right growing conditions, as mentioned above. Besides, when your echeveria matures, make sure to remove the lower leaves as they are prone to aphids and other pests. #echeveriabrasil #echeverialover #suculentlover #suculover #suculenta #suculentas #suculentacolorida #haste #hastefloralsuculenta #hastefloral #succulentaddict #succulents #suculentas🌵 #jardimsuculentas #suculentasbrasil #meujardimminhapaixão #meujardim #loucosporsuculen #colecaodesuculentas #sucamor #succulentjunkie #sucuvicio #echeveria #echeverialover #echeverialove - @cacti_succulents_suriname on Instagram

Keats Organics Vegetable Boxes When we set up the farm in 2014 we endeavoured to produce vegetable boxes for households, but we quickly established strong relationships with some very supportive chefs and selling into restaurants became an easy and obvious business model. More recently we’ve been selling into some amazing shops whose customers love eating our farm fresh produce. Now we are excited to supply a few vegetable boxes to households, throughout the year if possible. Boxes will contain a variety of different items. These will always include a Keats grown Mixed Salad Bag and a bunch of Keats grown Leafy Greens (eg chard, kale, turnip-tops, fava bean-shoots), and will often include a bunch of Keats grown herbs. Other items will vary weekly, with most items grown at Keats through the summer months. During the colder months box contents will be supplemented with the freshest organically grown produce from the UK, bought direct from market by our growers. Crucially this will allow us to have a steady source of revenue through the year. Vegetable boxes will be collection only as we don’t have the capacity to do home deliveries. We have collection points available in Bethnal Green (Roman Road), Colombia Road and East Dulwich. If you are interested in receiving a weekly vegetable box please get in touch with Chrissy via Instagram DM or email keatsorganics@yahoo.co.uk and we’ll send you the details. - @keatsorganics on Instagram

CSA veg box week 11 It’s week 11 for our CSA veggie boxes. Crazy weather and mini flood at the walled garden, not much damage on the crops but it was a wild one to be out harvesting. Special thanks to @_lindsay_fulton for lending a much needed helping hand, I wouldn’t have done it without you 😊. In this weeks box spring onions, selection of tomatoes, potatoes (maincrop Record), cucumber, carrots, beetroots, lettuce head, lettuce leaf salad mix with purple and cinnamon basil, courgettes (green and yellow), green beans, chard, kohlrabi and chives are included. New this week are leek and bouquet garni (a bunch of herbs including sage, rosemary, parsley and oregano) – which can be used to prepare soup, stock, casseroles and various stews.
