Is this even the same person!? I miss the simplicity of my life when I thought they were hard as a 22 year old. 2010 Cam on the left and 2020 Cam on the right! So much life happened in those 10 years. Though things can be tough it’s nice to have and see these reminders. Since being 2010 Cam I’ve seen the world, chased my dreams, had my heart stomped on, and come back stronger each and every time I’ve had a set back. 22 year old Cam was financially broke but he was confident and knew what was meant to be his. After all I’ve accomplished at 32 it’s important I still recognize who I’ve become and what obstacles I’ve gone through to be the man I am today. We live in a vicious world so it’s important to acknowledge the growth and it’s important to acknowledge the genuine love you have around you. 10 weeks is all it takes. I didnt starve myself (ate clean, counted macros), and I didnt work out like crazy (at-home workouts with exercise bands and 15 pound dumbbells). The @trainonmain Fit in 10 Challenge works so effectively, I lost the *exact* same amount of weight (28 lbs) and body fat (down 39%) in two and a half months as I did last year (see March 2019 post). I also finished the competition in a distant 2nd place... again...😬 .......... TL;DR: At the beginning of the lockdown, I was gaining weight fast. I was nearly the heaviest Id ever been (215 lbs) and was getting concerned Id soon need to buy a whole new wardrobe. After participating in The Challenge last year, I learned that a little friendly competition is the most powerful motivator for me. I made the commitment to the program developed by Coach Mark @theironsaint. I completed a 1-hour workout 5-6 days per week, and did some additional cardio intervals. Coach Martina @ifbbpromartinayabekova does such an awesome job of making these classes (done via Zoom) high-energy and fun, and keeping us accountable. Big thanks to both of them for helping all of us participants to make real change in our lives 🙏 The biggest challenge for me is the food. I found that in order for me to most effectively meet the macronutrient goals set out in the program, its best to eat simple, whole foods. Pureed vegetable soup, chicken lettuce wraps, etc. I was never hungry on this diet... In fact I got really tired of eating, and after a week, I no longer had cravings for carbs and sugar. Sticking to this every day is not easy, but keeping in mind that its only 10 weeks is what got me through it. Now that Im done, Im going to try to keep some these healthy habits going, but Im happy to reunite with my good friends: fried chicken, pizza, and beer. “Courage is borne out of vulnerability”- Brene Brown It is taking a LOT of courage and vulnerability to post these photos, but something in my heart is telling me that someone else might need to see these results and hear these words. I just completed my first Arbonne 30-Days to Healthy Living challenge. To most of you, these may not look like great results and you may be thinking “why is she wearing a bikini, let alone posting photos in one?!” but let me break it down for you. I was depressed, feeling stuck, unhappy, not satisfied with my body inside and out, not performing well at work or in life. I needed a change and nothing else was working! Here are my results from doing an hour of home workouts every day for 30 days! I always wanted to get back in shape for myself and being in quarantine helped. My brother always nagged me to start intermittent fasting where I limited my eating window to 8 hours, so I finally tried it. Yesterday was my 49th Birthday and was going to post this picture then but I chickened out , but decided to feel the fear and do it anyway, I’ve learned to do that which makes you most uncomfortable is the nest way to push yourself. The pic on the left was the beginning on Feb2020 and right pic was taken on my birthday 15th July. The other factor in me choosing to post this pic today is that I was inspired to do so my seeing someone else’s transformation. This has not just been a physical one but also a mental transformation too. My unexplainable ill health had been caused by a build up of work stress and without realising it . I had conversations with friends that were going through extremely though times last year ( @markisntabarber & @therealbillyboy ) I started to piece together my own issues once a had an understanding of this through a few counselling sessions late last year. Then I started to work on my health starting with diet I went vegetarian last Oct2019 and very quickly lost around 7lbs /3.5kg but it wasn’t until then end of Jan this year when I decided to take things more seriously, I stopped drinking, started running 5k 3 times a week and began looking more closely at what I was eating . I was then introduced to Herbalife products ( yes that’s right I’m that guy, this is not an advert just me hoping to inspire ) then #LOCKDOWN #COVID19 happed and I had nothing to do but run. Running then became a problem due to massive inflammation to my knees so I took up bike riding and then after reading “Finding Ultra” by @richroll I started to play around with my diet and slowly went more plant base , dairy and gluten free the inflammation in my knee disappeared the weight flew off, my runs and bike rides become longer and easier I had more energy. I then read “Can’t Hurt me “ by @davidgoggins and my mindset changed again . Fast forward to today I’m stronger ,leaner,faster healthier my mind is strong . I hope if you managed to read this to the end that you take some inspiration from it as I have from others . I’ve posted this on my story, but think it deserves its own post. 130lb on the left vs 150lb on the right, about 5 years difference. Did I ever think gaining 20lb would make me look and feel better? No freaking way. I remember when I first started my fitness journey my goal was to be as small as possible. I did a shit ton of cardio and ate 1100 calories a day. I lost weight quickly but kept looking worse (skinny fat). I eventually started binge eating because I was so hungry and gained all the weight I lost back plus some. I then got intrigued by weight lifting. I found a free bodybuilding program online and started counting macros. I fell in love and haven’t stopped since. I’ve only gotten better and smarter with my training and have had some coaches along the way. I’d say the biggest changes happened once I started following an actual plan, working harder and pushing myself more, and eating MORE. Without a coach I definitely saw progress but I wasn’t pushing myself enough lifting and was doing too much cardio. Don’t get too hung up on the scale... yes this took time and consistency but it’s been well worth it. I feel so strong and I feel like I actually look like I workout now. Yes I’ve made some mistakes along the way but that is normal with anything. You just have to keep pushing. I can’t wait to keep on building and working on myself more. Quarantine 15?..I don’t know who that is. It’s almost the anniversary of this selfie 🤳 the day I took this photo I was in disbelief and shock that’s what I looked like. This is why I encourage smaller goals... every week, every month, not just a set goal for a certain time frame! You want it to be a lifestyle change, not a fad! Take one small step every week! Find enjoyment and passion for exercise and training not just exercising to say you did it! Eat with balance to avoid the yo-yo effect! Work on mentally embracing and respecting your body! PROGRESS UPDATE! . . . Went from 11.9% BF a month ago to 10.3%. Lost 4lbs of fat (and 1.5lbs of muscle but that’s not too bad! 😀) . . . Photos show a comparison from 1 Year Ago. 14lbs difference in weight at the SAME body fat %. Roughly 9lbs are muscle, the rest is water and glycogen/food. . . . This past year I was finally able to adjust programming and diet from what I’ve learned the last few years since making my fitness training aesthetic focused. I want to give a big shout out to @rpstrength for all their knowledge (especially from @vitaminphd and @rpdrmike articles and videos). 186 lbs - 165.2 lbs TRANSFORMATION!     •     End of Phase 2 of this lil fat loss journey of mine. I’ll push for another 3-5 lbs from here but as promised I’ll show you guys what exactly I did.      •     - Macro counting: knowing exactly how much to eat on a daily/weekly basis is obviously your very first step.         - Stress management and recovery: this is a big one! Being on a strict calorie deficit, the last thing you wanna do is push training volume. Big mistake! Volume induced muscular fatigue and stress so this means doing more volume than you’d normally do before you start a diet wouldn’t give you any benefit other than breaking down muscle tissue and possibly waste lean body mass (your hard earned muscle!) Your goal is to maintain strength and muscle. So instead of doing a fuck load of volume like 3x15-20 I’d rather do 3x8-10 with heavy weights or if you’re a powerlifter what I’ve been doing is a single and 2x4 that’s it!         - Part 2: Sleep! If you ain’t sleeping adequately you won’t recover enough to maintain strength and muscle. I have a very bad insomnia and especially with me dieting it only gets worse. So smoking weed helps me fall asleep easier!        - Metabolic adaptation: This is when your calorie intake matches your daily expenditure. What to do and how to avoid this? Implement DIET BREAKS! It’s periods of eating at maintenance to improve weight loss/fat loss efficiently, better lean body mass retention and basal metabolic rate retention. This is something I’ve picked up from Layne Norton years ago!       - Adherence: This is all personality base. I’m a perfectionist so personally I count every macros to the T! During my first year of university I tried to change my eating habits to lose weight but had less or no motivation at all. With the stresses of university I ate really bad and continued to struggle with my weight. I have always wanted to dress nicely and have the curves to show off, but because of my overweight body it seemed a dream. Then one day a friend upload a group photo with me in it on Facebook , and I got really bad comments on my figure and how overweight I was. I was devastated and had a emotional breakdown. After that I decided to fully commit to losing the weight, so started eating healthy and going to the gym 6 days a week. After 10 months of fully committed to the diet and training, I lost 42 kgs. This change in my body further motivated me to keep going. I started to dress nicely and loved to show my new curves. This added further to my motivation. I trained harder and became stronger and fitter. 2016 👉 2020 #wwambassador I was 26 in the picture on the left and at my heaviest (non pregnant) weight of 195ish lbs. I hated every single picture of myself and ALWAYS had my hands, a drink, a person etc in front of me to try to hide my body as much as possible. I immediately untagged every picture of myself because I hated the way I looked. I had no confidence and no self love. Flash forward ⚡️ to January of 2018 I made one of the best decisions of my life and joined @ww for the first time and the last time! I lost 50 lbs in 6-7 months just following the program and living a healthy lifestyle. Then, last year in 2019 I got pregnant with my second child and gained 50+ back. I rejoined #ww as soon as it was safe again (after delivery) and am on my way back to my goal weight (a weight I agreed upon with my doctor that makes sense for me 😊). “I never talked about my eating disorder because for the longest time it was something I only knew about, It was my little secret which I could hide and control. I also always felt like I was failing at having an eating disorder because I was never ‘thin enough to have one.’ Talk about twisted thinking. Freedom Food  gave me  Freedom. It told me what foods to buy, what meals I would be eating, when I would be eating them. When I signed up for my first Workout Challenge with Don Saladino 4 months ago, I can honestly say I didn’t expect that my life would change so much. Today, my fellow Challengers and I completed Don’s Superhero Training challenge! My third challenge and by far my most fulfilling. Back in late April, all I wanted was to physically look good. What I didn’t understand was that so much of your physical well-being is driven by your mental well-being. I know that was deep, but it wasn’t until this challenge where it became clear. Only “I” can control “ME”, and that it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks about how I look or feel. I know it sounds simple, but we are often so worried about getting everyone’s approval, that we forget that the only approval we need is our own. Thank you @donsaladino for helping me to understand this connection and for giving me the tools (nutrition guidance and workouts) and community to live a healthier life. I also want to give a shout-out to my fellow Challengers and @mel.ic.ious. Thanks for all your support, encouragement and inspiration. People also underestimate their capacity for change. Don’t over-complicate change: just begin. My maim change: immersing MyFitnessPal into my life.

Your start point will dictate your end point. Or if you can even get there 👀⬇️🆘 ⁣post 2/6 Many people struggle to reach their goal weight and dont know why.⁣ ⁣ Things get tough and they give up, rebounding and gaining weight back even quicker than before, see my previous post for why this is and how this is killing your metabolism! Here we have 2 examples with the same % drops in weight but a very different starting positions. The first one is starting on a good amount of calories and therefore has room to make some drops along the way and ‘finish’ X weeks sustainably and reach their goal without having to go so low calories they end up quitting and bingeing. The 2nd example, a worse start point means your going to hit the floor of how long you want to go with food quickly meaning you probably won’t be able to diet for long enough to reach your end goal. Also if your training 6+ times per week you probably don’t have ‘the card to play’ of increasing calories burnt from training / cardio / steps. This means the only variable you’ve got to play with is reducing food. If youve yo yo cycled for a while and arent at your goal weight whilst on relatively low calories and high training/ cardio then its time to take a step back. Focus on health and building Metabolic rate higher with what we call a reverse diet.⁣ ⁣ Any questions on dieting, weight loss stalling or reverse dieting?? Done!!! I have completed the Accountability Challenge with @masf_industries!!! I began this journey weighing in at 279.6 lbs. I am weighing in this morning at 248.0 lbs. That’s 31.6 lbs in 20 days. That’s insane! This has been an insane journey. I have learned a lot about myself and what I can do when I put my mind to it. This wasn’t an easy task but it certainly wasn’t impossible. In my post about the integrity challenge I talked about the changes physically. What I have learned the most over the past 20 days is how much we are controlled by food in this society. It is pretty crazy just how much sugar has influence in our lives and we don’t even realize it until we remove it. I have a much longer journey to complete my mission but with these challenges I am much closer to them, and in a much shorter time. My life will be forever changed by completing these challenges. I have a much clearer view on the things I will be putting in my body. I have a plan. There are things that I will still enjoy because we still must enjoy this life we’ve been blessed with; however I will be enjoying that stuff on Saturdays for a cheat meal/day whatever I decide. I have found that I do not crave those terrible food through this challenge. After removing sugar from my life I found my body craved healthy foods. This will not be my last completing this challenge. This will prolly be a yearly thing at the beginning of the year to knockout those holiday meals and get focused again. @mitch_aguiar thank you sir for always pushing and being prompt to answer any questions I had. Obwohl auch mein Normalgewicht noch entfernt ist, habe ich auf der Reise soviel über mich gelernt. Klar fühle ich auch mal Unsicherheit und Zweifel, aber diese Gefühle beherrschen mich nicht. We all start somewhere. - I began my journey coming from a place of depression and anxiety. I thought my happiness could be found in a number on the scale. - I starved myself, I worked out constantly, I lost my period, I had legit panic attacks over food and no matter how low that number on the scale was... I only saw myself as the girl in photo one because I never allowed myself to feel happiness or self worth no matter what goals were being accomplished along the way. - Today I eat more than I have in all those years prior and plot twist, I weigh practically the same between the middle photo and today’s. I workout less and smarter. I enjoy pizza and ice cream on a regular basis but also look forward to fueling my body with fruits and veggies. I move my body because I can, not as a form of punishment. - I never thought I’d be where I am at today. I thought balance was a myth and that I was never going to be able to eat like a “normal person” and always would have to be on a diet. I fully believed I needed to be skinny to be happy. I thought I’d always hate my body. Yet, after many years of hard work and consistency I can, with confidence say I came out the other side. If I can, so can you. - If I could go back and tell myself anything it would be... Eat food. Do less cardio. Go out with friends. Wear what you want. Stop making happiness a destination. 8 year difference ☝️ .. 🌺Photos were taken in the same month but different years. Different mindset and body but it all started with a belief. A belief that came within. Seeing so many different transformation photos is what gave me that desire to change. It gave me that sense of hope that if they could do it, why can’t I make a change as well. I made a choice and went on a mission to make a change and still on that journey to this day. . . 🌺We sometimes get fixated at the now and the end goal and forget to live in the present moment. It’s that impatience that breaks us.. We forget to Celebrate those little victories that leads to those goals. I was inspired by my friend @syd_journey to post this picture. I have been struggling with my weight since I hit my lowest weight back in December 2018. I remember how incredibly unhappy I was at my lowest weight. I was afraid to eat ANYTHING & I would weigh myself multiple times a day. If I gained any weight or I felt like I ate something “bad”, I’d go to the gym and work out for hours & hours. I had the unhealthiest mindset & was trying to lose weight as fast as possible. I started binge eating again & lost control. I have gained 20lbs since then and didn’t know how to stop. A few of you guys tagged @syattfitness in my post when I shared about my struggle with binging. I joined his calorie cycling challenge in March because it was NOT a weight loss challenge. I used his strategy of eating alternate high & low calorie days. This doesn’t mean super high and super low calorie days, just slightly altering by 200-300 calories. Example: Monday 1800 calories, Tuesday 1300, Wed 1800 (these are not my numbers, just an example). I didn’t restrict myself of any foods, but I was still tried to eat healthy at least 5-6 days of the week while hitting my protein goal. I haven’t weighed myself since March because THE NUMBER ON THE SCALE IS NOT IMPORTANT. Health is not a number on the scale. I have not binged since March & I feel like I’ve broken the cycle of disordered eating & thinking. It’s been hard to keep up my workouts but I make sure to workout at least 4 days a week. I’ve diligently been doing BBG & I’m trying to move more during the day. It’s hard but I know I have to do this for my health. I’ve been embarrassed to post these side by sides but it’s reality. This is part of my journey. I’m happier now but I refuse to let myself get to another unhealthy point again at ANY size. I will love myself at any size and I want to share that message. September 22, 2020 My favorite #transformationTuesday this far. #triggerwaring (ED talk) I took the pic on the left during one of my Christmas breaks in college. That night I was so happy bc I went to a party and a girl told me I ate like a small baby bird. At college I made excel sheets for my classes that scheduled in at least 2 workouts a day, and another sheet for calories in vs calories burned and if my total calories for the day wasnt in the negatives, I was devastated. I believed beyond any doubt that my worth was inextricably tied to my weight. The less I weighed, the more I was worth. It was ROUGH. Even at my smallest I was told I was in the healthy range for my height #yikes Flash forward ~ 8 years and @toneitup recently used the pic on the right during a news segment they were on. Like, there I was pushing 180, in a bikini, on a tv and ABSOLUTELY in love with everything about myself. I felt so freaking proud I cannot even explain it in words. Like wow, look at how far I have come. From my body making me just want to cease to exist, to looking on it with nothing but love and pride with an additional 40ish pounds on my frame. This journey is absolutely not about losing weight. Losing weight by itself wont make you happy or bring you any sort of joy (honestly). This journey is learning to love yourself wherever you are. And loving yourself regardless of what changes your body goes through. Its about prioritizing self-love, care + health over a number. And this community provides support and a group to lean on during struggles AND a group to celebrate all your successes. LONG POST- but worth a read ☺️ For those who have been following along for a while, have probably seen that in 2014/2015 I started on a fitness journey where I lost 25kg. I was the fittest And lightest I’ve ever been. The ugly truth was I broke my body and mind in the pursuit. The physical scares are pretty evident, due to to insane loads I was pushing my body through, I messed up my knees to the point of needing major surgeries to correct patella alignment issues. I pushed through so much pain, some days barely being able to walk into the gym because of the pain (and not the good muscular pain), all to achieve the aesthetics I desired. It left me with no cartilage and bones just grinding away on each other. The psychological side of this journey was by far the worst though. In public, I was happy, bubbly and energetic, but behind closed doors I was a damn nightmare. I obsessed over every kilogram lost and gained. Weighed my food perfectly and would have complete meltdowns on the regular if my weight fluctuated and the scales weren’t tracking downward. I was addicted to the praise and compliments I was getting. When anyone voiced concerns about how much or how quickly I was loosing weight... yep, you guessed it, meltdown. I was toxic to myself, and to those closest to me. After hitting a wall and completely loosing interest in training, I basically just gave up. Yes, I kept active by walking 5-6km every day but my nutrition went out the window and I rebounded into old habits. Like everyone else on the planet, covid saw to gym closures and so added to the hiatus. I’m not going to be a preachy dickhead and this is my honest truth. I needed the time off to realise why I love working out. It’s true that you don’t truely appreciate something until it’s gone. In June I moved into the city and started at a brand new gym. Now, stay with me here I know that the words I’m about to say can be somewhat divisive... I do CrossFit now. *bah bah bahhhhh* 😬 like I said, not here to be a preachy dickhead, I DO NOT expect you to drink the Cool-aid and join my cult. This is my new fitness journey restarts. What a difference 10 years can make. In the left photo I was a Sophomore in college, getting ready to go to my college cheer winter banquet. I was about 20/21, in the process of joining a social all male fraternity and fresh out of living in the dorms and in a new apartment complex. I knew internally at this point that I was transgender, but would never let the idea be more than a passing thought. The next few years would be some of the greatest but also saddest years ive lived through. Greatest because I was able to learn so much about myself, about the world, furthered my education, met some of my closest friends in life. Saddest because I struggled with depression, was often angry over nothing but in retrospect was deflecting my own internalized anger I had with myself for neglecting my own truth of who I was. During the next 5 years I did a lot of soul searching, processing the idea that in order for me to live I would have to transition. I was in so much fear because I knew trans women were discriminated often and murdered for simply existing. I would wake up crying and in tears. On the outside i knew I had to act like I was okay and happy, but internally I was having the biggest war that I did not know how to fight on my own. The photo on the right was me yesterday, after a busy shift. Thriving, loving, learning, happy, growing and existing as my truest self. I dont know where I would be if I did not have the support of my friends, family and specially my mother. I have never been a fan of before and after photos, until a few years ago when I had a trans teenager reach out to say seeing before and afters from transition gave them hope for their own transition. To my trans siblings out there struggling to transition, have hope for a better future. Believe and love yourself so deeply, yes the journey will be difficult but I promise you it will get better. Monday Motivation! These two pics were taken 16 years apart. There is nothing wrong with me in the picture from 2004.  However, I didn’t feel great. I was going about my fitness and nutrition the wrong way. I wasn’t eating enough, I thought I was eating healthy and I was doing way too much cardio.  I would get up a 4:00 am to get a run in before I went to the office. I couldn’t understand why I just couldn’t seem to lose even 5 lbs. and I always seemed to lack energy. Even though I was a certified trainer, I continued with the same habits for a few years and then ended up having fertility issues. I decided to change the way I was doing things. I cut down on the cardio and started lifting more. I started really studying the foods I was eating and I started eating more. I also prioritized sleep. My energy increased. I was building muscle. I was sleeping better. I ended up being in the best shape off my adult life and I ended up having my son when I was 38. Everything I was doing before was not only putting a lot of stress on my body, it was messing up my hormonal balance. Hormonal imbalances including elevated cortisol can not only make weight loss difficult, it can lead to a whole host of other issues. Low energy Brain fog Increased belly fat Mood swings Bloating Poor Sleep After I had my son, I bounced right back.  Since that time I have made it my mission to help other women. I focussed on my education and research and I developed my program to help women get the results they are looking for. He weighed 265#. He was eating barely anything. So. He needed to loose weight right? But if eating less was truly accurate of weight loss, then how could he eat less than 900 Cals ? 😳 And not suffer malnutrition? He was already malnourished, his metabolism was at a dead stop. Understanding that he had done nothing until this point to build any sort of body underneath. And he didnt wanna be skinny. We worked for 14 months reversing him from 900 Cals up to 5400 Cals. Or I would get literally stuck in it... ( Disney world May-2019) Then it was the shame of needing help to get out, people looking at me and laughing. It was the “you can slide down theses water slide because you could fall out of it”. I didn’t know better so I rolled with the punches. Thinking I was happy ... Being bubbly and kind and sweet to make sure that people would like me and be kind to me and maybe even respect me.... At my heaviest, I was 320 pounds, may 2019... Then summer 2019 happened... My amazing aunt and uncle came to visit us... They gave me a chance in life that could never taught would be possible. They offered to help me with my surgery... The most beautiful gift I’ve ever had. They are my second set of parents. I love them so much, always. I’ve looked up to them as individuals and as a couple. Strength, love, kindness, thrust and truthfulness are just some of the qualities they have and taught me. I am so grateful and humble to have them in my life. So from that famous night to surgery day, it was less then 9 weeks. Easiest most difficult decision ever that brought me to live the most amazing hard year ever. Making the choice to choose me, myself and I.... So hard. So If y’all did the math.... 164.4 pounds is my current weight. Lost a whole adult human.... In a year... Everyone who’s met me always says “I never remember you being fat”. 1. Because I probably FaceTuned my photos to the extent it didn’t even look like me. 2. I’m 6’4. I was NEVER happy with my body. But everyday I’d tell myself I was. I couldn’t run, I’d be out of breath during a workout, I was a waist 38 but somehow managed to accept it and move on. Today I couldn’t even tell you how much my mind set has changed. Making plans to climb the highest mountain in the UK, tracking my calorie intake. Wearing a waist 28 and actually enjoying VEG. 😂. I can’t even explain how hard it’s been, but once your heads in the game there’s no going back. I can openly admit I had and still slightly have a body dysmorphia issue. Days I’ll wake up and feel fat, still not confident enough to take my top off in public if I’ve had a big meal etc. This journey has been more of a mental than physical journey for me. I see other men on social media and wish I looked like them, I’m slowly starting to appreciate my hard work and accepting I’m my own self and should block out what I wish to look like and respect what I’ve done. I’ve lost 5 stone, was told by the doctors im underweight, I’d pass out as I would starve myself to the extent where drinking water until I was full was my daily routine. Thankfully im out that bubble now. I consume over 2,000 calories a day. I workout 6 days a week because I enjoy it. It’s my escape from work and helps me mentally. I don’t wanna go deep but I’m happy to openly share my journey with you all as you all know everything about my life anyway. But know I’m so happy right now, strong and my mental health is the best it’s ever been. Happiness comes in every shape and size & this is mine! Things no one talks about : life after being a performance athlete. . . The problem with weight gain / loss, is it doesn’t tell even a fraction of the story. . . There are YEARS between each of those pictures and in all of those years life looked so different. . . When I first started to lose weight it was ultimately to heal my hormones. As I got fitter I got more competitive with myself and it was the perfect time for that. . . The first time I stepped on stage at 127lbs and the smallest I had ever been, it was to heal my confidence. What’s your current goal?! As most of you know I’ve been thru all the ups and downs mentally, physically and emotionally especially in my 20’s! Weight has ALWAYS been a struggle for me. 3 year increments have taught me many trial and errors to find my BALANCE. Which brings me to today. Finding my balance has been such a blessing. Not having to worry about every gram of food I put in my mouth and having to track it, allowing myself to skip the gym to have dinner and wine with my girlfriends, going on vacations without the fear of not being 100% on track etc. HOWEVER I do have a majority of the days lately where I know I can be better to achieve a more “confident” body & mind. Self love is HARD and I’ve come so far with it which makes me really proud of myself. But I don’t want to lose sight of my goals just because I’m comfortable. Feeling stagnant makes me very anxious which is what I’m feeling a lot of lately... I’m craving some sort of change. This upcoming week I’m going to make it a goal to prep ALL my meals & make an effort to switch them up, get a better idea of a fresh calorie count to stay within without obsessing/tracking every little thing, get to the gym 5-6x and cardio atleast 4x for 20 min. Outside of that, I want to connect with some new faces, start a new book and dig into being more creative (challenge myself) instead of going thru the same ole motions. Overall make sure to prioritize my health a little better to feel that confidence boost more and more each day! It’s been a minute since I’ve done side by side pics. #LongPost After being chubby all my life, I was finally able to lose some weight, and feel confident that it wouldn’t bounce back. Hope this post inspires you to eat right and stay active. I documented more in depth in my latest vlog on YouTube. Link in bio 🎦 . In short, health coaching helped me understand food better. It took a lot for me to post this but I believe we deserve to be healthy and learn what’s best for our body 🤯 .... [Quick summary] hired health coach @darrennnliu and in 4 weeks time, lost 5.5kg & waist down 3” . [Full story] July 5, I was utterly frustrated with my weight/body after my best effort to “Eat well and Exercise hard” during the quarantine period from April to June😤 . I figured I wasn’t doing it right so I decided to get real help from health coach @darrennnliu and prior to reaching out, I had been following his IG and his stuff made sense to me. . Fast forward to Aug 5, I am thrilled to say that my decision was 100% worth it (as seen in pictures). I have new relationships with food and exercise and in my eyes, it is also sustainable, not a so-called “diet” to lose weight fast and just to return to where we were before. I know we have all been there 😔 . Most importantly, I never had to starve in this program and always got to eat until I’m full. I don’t have to cut carbs, WHAT⁉️ . Biggest Takeaway: 1️⃣ Avoid vegetable oils & refined carbs/sugar 2️⃣ Consume quality protein, carbs & fats 3️⃣ Walk daily 4️⃣ 8 hours of quality sleep 🔽 and much more... . Der heutige Post auf jeden Fall keiner der mir leicht fällt... Jahrelanges Übergewicht ist nichts schönes Freunde, ich wurde jahrelang als Kind deswegen „gemobbt“ & kompensierte das mit Essen, irgendwann war Essen die Lösung für alles, die nötigen Endorphine kamen durchs Essen! Immer wenn was beschissenes in meinem Leben passiert ist, habe ich einfach gegessen, gegessen bis nichts mehr ging... & ja auch Jetzt bin ich noch lange nicht da wo ich sein möchte, dass Ergebnis hier habe ich in knapp 3 Wochen geschafft! Disziplin & Motivation sind hier der Schlüssel! Ich weiß wie hart es ist dranzubleiben, nichtmal ich selbst habe noch an mich geglaubt weil ich’s so oft schon versucht habe aber glaub mir wenn man es ein einziges Mal durchzieht ist man einfach glücklicher! Lots of people lose weight... But many struggle to keep it off. Ive been fortunate enough to maintain my loss. And as your favorite internet fitness guru (😉), I can tell you this... You need to start trusting yourself. Because if you dont, youll continue to feel stuck. ~ For a long time, I had ZERO trust in myself. So I would avoid any situation that could potential throw me off track. Clearly, it worked. But once I lost weight, that lack of trust stuck around. And it was negatively affecting every area of my life. While everyone else at college was going out, meeting new people, and living their best life... I was hiding in my dorm room. Stuck at a crossroads. Do I keep living in fear of gaining back my weight?... Or do I start trusting myself? Luckily, I chose the latter. ⠀ Instead of saying, “Im a mindless eater who cant control myself. Id say, “I can trust myself to make good choices in the moment. Instead of restricting myself, I had trust that I could use restraint and moderation. ~ Heres the kicker, though. I still had days where Id overeat. I still had days where Id skip workouts. I just wouldnt let those moments get me down. I knew that Id fall off from time to time... But I trusted myself to get back on track. ~ There are going to be moments when you fall off track. When you royally fuck up and eat like an asshole. When you get lazy and choose Netflix over exercise. Those. Moments. Are. Going. To. Happen. What ultimately matters is how you respond. And how you respond is determined by how much you trust yourself. Youre going to eat off plan... Trust that you can get right back on track. Youre going to skip workouts... Trust that you wont let it continue. Trust that, with time, you will be successful. And trust that you will be able to maintain your success, too. (But never trust a dragon 😉) – Carter PS.
