We are proud to be a part of “Under / Over” at Marta, Los Angeles @marta.losangeles that opens (online and at Marta, 1545 West Sunset Boulevard, LA) Thursday 10th of September through to 1st of November, 2020. Stay tuned... In association with Plant Paper, @plant_paper we were all asked to design a toilet paper holder as part of the exhibition. Of course, in the meantime a global pandemic occurred, and creating an everyday object such as this seemed absurd. But as we spent intense times inside using the objects around our homes, touching and using them more and more, the task became apt. With a nod to designer/inventor Barry Simpson we created a flat packed holder using aluminium that could be transported and assembled by the user. Off cuts are presented as an incense/soap/toothbrush shelf. (Will share more soon) A big thank you to Simon Harlow @simon_harlow for, once again, actualising our ideas.
