Hello! Ive been paying taxes atleast since I began working as a MCDONALDS employee when I was 15 years old. I literally needed a workers permit, and to have a signed note from my mother, just so I could wake up at 4am on a Saturday & make $8.65 an hour and Ive been paying and doing my taxes ever since. As my wages have increased, and as someone who has worked as an educator I have increasingly been taxed at around 33 percent of what Ive grossed. So with that in mind - My unemployment benefits, the little bit of money gained weekly $15.00 an hour x 40 hours $600 dollars is really nothing compared to what Ive paid into it, and what other countries have done for their people. Fam, whatever the fuck you do with that money is your business. If you are currently an #educator, #instructor, #teacher and you fear for your life, you should be able to stay home and stay safe. You should not be blamed for a government that has failed you, the citizen who have continued to pay your taxes! You should not be made to blame because the government is willing to sacrifice 150,000 children, most likely black and brown students, for them to continue gutting education. Oh! Truth be told; you won’t always find the motivation to do it. It’s impossible to be motivated ALL THE TIME (no matter how much/bad you want something). That’s why you need to develop consistency and discipline within your actions. The difference between those who succeed and those who don’t comes down to discipline and commitment to the process. Sure, it’s easy to let yourself off the hook when things get tough and you aren’t motivated but it’s much more rewarding to see your dreams all the way through to the end. Once you’re disciplined and committed to your goals and the process you won’t worry about motivation. Once you give up the short term feeling of comfortability for long term feelings of dedication, growth, and advancement you’ll start to see success beyond your imagination. Motivation will find you from the build up of consistent small victories. The questions isn’t whether or not you can stay motivated the whole time. Let me save you the trouble, you can’t. Stop searching for motivation. Instead ask yourself this; Am I ready to decide and commit to doing what I say I want and need to do regardless of level of motivation? Our country has chosen to allow the use, treatment and distribution of recreational drugs to occur in a “black market” that has propelled a National Heath crisis into a never ending military operation where police are trained to treat citizens as enemy combatants. Because this war on drugs is fought primarily in the inner city by a police force steeped in a culture of white supremacy— the black community bears the brunt of the casualties of this war. America’s history of racism and oppression has culminated in a genocidal war on communities that are targeted primarily based on their lack of wealth and lack of access to affordable healthcare. If we self medicate, participate in the drug trade (at rates identical to suburban communities), succumb to an addiction, appear to do any of the above or simply live proximate to others who are impacted by the disease of addiction— we can be killed by the state. Have you ever bought a self-improvement program/book for someone...and they didnt do anything with it? - I learned this around year 10 of being in business: Buying a self-development program for someone else is almost always doomed to failure. - I learned that self development isnt subject to the usual scientific method. For example, I could walk out on the street and give my Earnable program to 100 people, then study them vs. a control group of 100 people who dont get Earnable. The result: Virtually none of them would start a business. - In self development, you first have to want to succeed, then you have to have the skills (including time, perseverance, focus, self-directed learning, and occasionally money), you have to have the social support (spouse, parents, friends), and then luck. Its no surprise that change is hard. - Its also no surprise that if you buy someone a self-development program, they rarely succeed. Its hard enough for us to succeed when we choose ourselves. Remember that others havent gone through the journey you have. If they complain, or bring up problems, listen...ask if theyre looking for solutions...even suggest something -- but avoid getting them a solution.
