November 10, 2012. We had an event in my parents’ backyard called “The Meating.” Two lambs and pig from our farm. Jeremiah Stent constructed the spit. Steve Simms and my dad were in charge of cooking and basting. We fed over 80 people that night, drank beer and shared primal cuts throughout the night. These grapes arent the only thing hard at work right now. Our winegrowers, winemakers, and hardworking vineyard staff are out in the vineyard every day anxiously waiting the perfect day to pick. What are they waiting for? 🧐 Mainly brix levels! Brix is the level of sugar content in the grapes that indicates their ripeness. Each variety has a range that is optimal to harvest.
