In the lower right, you can see his colleague asleep. The transplant was a success, and the patient outlived Religa. Zbigniew Religa conducted Polands first successful heart transplantation, and in June 1995 he was the first surgeon to graft an artificial valve created from materials taken from human corpses. Yesterday was my first day as a home heath and hospice nurse and I truly think I’m going to love it! My schedule is 9-5:30 M-F with on-call hours if my patients aren’t doing well or pass away. I’ll be acting as an RN and a case manager and coordinating care, meds, DME, and other medical supply delivery with MDs, NPs, RNs, HAs, LVNs, chaplains, social workers and more! I’ll also be spending time getting to know my patients and their families while doing my assessments and making sure they have everything they need and all of their questions are answered. I feel so blessed to be able to work with patients and their families during difficult times and to support them through the grieving process. Being a patient advocate has always been a passion of mine and I love that it will be a large part of this job! Ocrevus • I remember someone telling me that your first relapse is equally hard to your initial diagnosis. “Ok Debbie Downer”, I thought... until that dreaded day in March 2020 when they found that first new lesion since diagnosis. F@ck! BUT I DID EVERYTHING RIGHT. MS you play dirty. • We made a plan for a new drug that had lots of promising results (#ocrevus)... but COVID. Taking out my B cells while a new coronavirus was circulating the area was not in the cards for me so I started on an bridge drug (#tecfidera). • Unfortunately the bridge drug did not agree with me. Week by week I felt more and more ill. It got to a point that that I could not function normal anymore. 12 vails of blood later and the results were in: my lymphocytes were down in the 200s and my liver enzymes were in overdrive. I was pissed and angry and frustrated. “Your body needs a break”... Scary yet glorious words. But we needed a long term plan of action... • After much discussion with my neurologist, he believed that getting control of my disease was the priority and that with the correct measures in place we could make this work... • So here we are, exactly 6 months since the discovery of that new lesion, a new beginning in my MS journey. I was scared to walk onto that onology floor for my treatment. I was worried about the unknown. Unless you are a nurse or you’ve sat at a bedside watching a devoted nurse work for 12 and a half continuous hours to care for your loved one, it’s hard to grasp what this noble profession entails and how it breathes life into others. Contrary to medicinal and societal advancements, we’ve got a long way to go when it comes to understanding the unique and pivotal role nurses play in patient care. I come from a culture like many others where the taboo stands that nursing is a woman’s profession. There are others that reduce the profession to someone who only renders hygienic duties. It’s important to educate and show the world the behind the scenes. I don’t mean sharing filtered pictures. I mean sharing narratives. Such as the nurses that perform 3-4 hour dressing changes on complex burn patients, the nurses titrating medications drop by drop to keep a dying person’s heart barely alive, the midwife who stands all night to assure the birth of a new born, and yes, the nurse that cleans your loved one multiple times a day and night to restore their dignity while you return home in confidence that they will be okay and taken care off. I’m talking about the unsung heroes. So yes, we clean our patient’s bowel movements, clean up their vomit, bathe them when they are incapacitated, but we also love them like our own families, we also wipe away tears, we also pray with them, we also console fearful families, we also speak up and give them a voice and empower them. Print out the chart and carry it with you for quick refreshers throughout clinical Volunteer to help out with anything + everything🙋🏽♀️.. a lot of the time, I find students don’t volunteer enough or aren’t asked to join in by the RN. Is another nurse giving IV meds? Ask to observe!👀 Is your partner RN writing out a report sheet? Ask to help write it out! Is your nursing school colleague dealing with a procedure you haven’t seen before? Ask if they need a helping hand! Read the patient’s reports - consult notes, cath lab report, progress notes. It’ll help tie everything together for you🤓 When morning 🧪labs result, look through them and make an educated guess as to what interventions will be performed for the critically high or low labs If you have some extra time on your hands and the unit isn’t very busy, try reading through your patient’s orders.. learning to decipher physician writing is fun🤣 Spend some time chatting with your patient… ❤️ sometimes the unit is so busy that the primary nurse hasn’t had much time to sit down and build a relationship with the patient. उत्तराखंड में भले ही कोरोना संक्रमित मरीजों की तादाद रोजाना बढ़ रही है। लेकिन सक्रिय मामलों (एक्टिव केस) में ठहराव आया है। जिस तेजी के साथ संक्रमित मामले आ रहे हैं और मरीज ठीक हो रहे हैं। उससे सक्रिय मामले स्थिरता की ओर हैं। चंपावत जिले में कोरोना के मात्र तीन सक्रिय मामले हैं। प्रदेश में कोरोना संक्रमितों का आंकड़ा 1900 पार कर गया है। पिछले दो सप्ताह में ठीक होने वाले संक्रमित मरीजों की संख्या में तेजी आई है। इलाज के बाद घर लौटे मरीजों की संख्या 1200 पहुंचने वाली है। वहीं, सक्रिय मामले 680 हैं। वर्तमान में जिस गति से संक्रमित मामले आ रहे हैं, उसी गति से रोजाना संक्रमित मरीजों को अस्पताल से घर भेजा जा रहा है। अपर सचिव स्वास्थ्य युगल किशोर पंत का कहना है कि संक्रमित मामले आने के बाद भी प्रदेश की रिकवरी और डबलिंग दर में सुधार हुआ है। रिकवरी दर बढ़ने से कोरोना के सक्रिय मामले स्थिरता की ओर हैं। - @news_uttrakhand_official on Instagram

Guarulhos continua a realizar teste rápido para Covid-19 A iniciativa tem por objetivo testar as pessoas que já tiveram contato com pacientes infectados pelo novo coronavírus. Aqueles que apresentam resultado positivo para Covid-19 são encaminhados para acompanhamento na Unidade Básica de Saúde onde são cadastrados. Até o final do mês mais quatro dias de mutirão serão realizados na cidade, todos eles das 9h às 15h. Nos dias 20 e 21, a testagem será realizada no CEU Pimentas, localizado na estrada do Caminho Velho, 351. E nos dias 27 e 28 será no CEU Presidente Dutra, situado no final da rua Maria de Paula Motta. Para fazer o teste no mutirão não é necessário agendamento prévio, basta levar documento de identidade e cartão do SUS. A única restrição é não estar com síndrome gripal no dia do exame. No entanto, as pessoas que já tiveram contato com pacientes infectados pelo novo coronavírus também têm a opção de agendar o teste rápido nas Unidades Básicas de Saúde. O agendamento deve ser feito de forma presencial. Assim como no mutirão, a testagem na UBS é feita por meio de uma picada no dedo e o resultado fica pronto em aproximadamente 15 minutos. - @guarulhoshoje on Instagram

Our REPARE team is always hard at work making sure that the biomedical equipment at SBH is in good working order. Recently, the autoclave in our surgery department stopped functioning. Our Chief Biomedical Equipment Engineer, Alix Ilophene, told us: “We know that to do surgery, sterilizing equipment is necessary. Without that, there is no surgery. It was not so difficult to diagnose the problem. The [autoclave’s] boiler displayed a low water alarm—we found the machine’s water piping was blocked. We cleaned it, and then cleaned the whole machine. We took about two hours to repair it.
