Everyone, please send my wife your best vibes and prayers if you pray. To say this pregnancy has been challenging would be an understatement. We didn’t announce we were pregnant for a long time, truthfully, because we weren’t sure what was going to happen. Nicole has been dealing with a massive fibroid for most of the pregnancy. It’s the biggest our doc has ever seen and we named him Mordy (aka Voldemort). Mordy banished her to bed rest since January. He’s been causing all kinds of scary moments for us: multiple frenzied rushes to the hospital, overnights. Heck, he’s the main reason I left a new job, to be home more and present with my family. In fact, three days before Heath was born we had to rush to the hospital due to another round of serious hemorrhaging, scared as can be, hoping for the best. We’re so thankful Heath came out healthy and happy, and a natural birth at that! He left Mordy in the dust. But my wife was back in the hospital two days ago, post birth, and needed immediate surgery. Now she’s back in again tonight, for a more serious surgery. The #teabuds are harvested in early spring (April) and then stored in a cool place until late summer when the best #jasmineflowers are harvested 🌱 #Jasmine flowers start to bloom around May, but the blooms used for premium grades of jasmine tea are not harvested until August - October. The jasmine buds are harvested closed, and at this point, the concentrations of essential oils in the flowers are at their highest. The harvested flowers open at night which is when the scenting process begins. Scenting the tea involves layering the tea between layers of Jasmine flowers in piles up to 20cm high. As the oxidation of the flowers releases heat and fragrance, the tea and flowers are mixed after a few hours to evenly disperse the heat and fragrance. So, I went to an App on my phone with a picture of a PD brother of mine and his lover. I wanted to create a special picture to post, I selected the double love filter for their love and their twins on the way. I was reflecting on healing this morning. Not just physically but mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I decreased my antidepressants medication last week (with the support and guidance of my doctor) and it brought up more than I expected. Can I do this? Am I ready? What if? Overall, my mental health is really good right now. My anxiety and depression symptoms are low (particularly in summer) and I continue to prioritize my health and mental wellbeing. But Ive decreased my medication dose before and had to increase it again. A thought that threatens my peace, if I let it. If I dwell. Anyways, I got stuck on the thought of whether we are ever truly ready for major healing (synonymous with feel ready). Ready to forsake the familiar and abandon our narrative of suffering. I am not saying that we choose to be in pain, but healing is not for the faint of heart, it takes courage. It takes sacrifice. Its a long haul. I was supporting a webinar this week on school refusal and anxiety where the speaker talked about the sometimes necessary level of discomfort. For example, when we go to say, the physiotherapist, we will be asked to do stretches and rehabilitation that may be uncomfortable and even somewhat painful at first but is a necessary level of pain for healing to begin. Its adjacent to our comfort zone - until we discover a new, expanding comfort zone. Healing comes from the Old English words hælan, which means to make whole. Pain and discomfort will always be part of our journey, us being a whole person. Some of it we will need to step into and some will be outside of our control. Each day I am reminding myself that I am willing and worthy of healing. That I am, healing. Even even when there is pain. Even when Im discouraged. Even when darker days linger. Even if has turned into a bit of a theme for me this year. As the saying goes, healing is not linear. Hold that close as you navigate your own story. #boakman - @b.oakman on Instagram

Early Life Alexander the Great was born in the Pella region of the Ancient Greek kingdom of Macedonia on July 20, 356 B.C., to parents King Philip II of Macedon and Queen Olympia, daughter of King Neoptolemus. In 343 B.C., King Philip II hired the philosopher Aristotle to tutor Alexander at the Temple of the Nymphs at Meiza. Over the course of three years, Aristotle taught Alexander and a handful of his friends philosophy, poetry, drama, science and politics. Seeing that Homers Iliad inspired Alexander to dream of becoming a heroic warrior, Aristotle created an abridged version of the tome for Alexander to carry with him on military campaigns. Alexander completed his education at Meiza in 340 B.C. A year later, while still just a teen, he became a soldier and embarked on his first military expedition, against the Thracian tribes. Here’s more about my project - Hello Earthlings : Like so many self-employed/freelance professionals, I’m thinking of how best to utilise my time right now to create new work and an income from home. Lately, my work has taken on a slightly more spiritual and philosophical quality, which is an extension of my recent life experiences. So, today, I begin a new photo project entitled, ‘Homemade Love Letters’. This project is as much for each of you as it is for myself. Considering that the businesses that support my artistic practice are closed (film processing/printing lab and local transport systems), I am creating unique and personal artworks at home for anyone interested—for anyone in need of a little love (we all are, in one way or another). When motivation fails you, you need to dig deeper and find the true why. Motivation comes and goes, but true passion and determination is what gets you through. I had so many excuses to not go on a run, I was tired, didn’t feel great, had errands to run and chores to be done, so I drove a little faster and cleaned a little quicker because once lunch came, I was going on a run wether or not these things were done. I couldn’t find an excuse better than my goal or bigger than my passion. And I couldn’t be happier that I went on my run yesterday, the fresh air gave me the energy I needed and i couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day to run!! All my stress and worries were gone, I forgot about the hills that used to be my “Goliath” I got to the top of the hill when I noticed I ran it and I didn’t need to stop for a breather, these hills used to haunt me, now I’m looking for bigger hills to conquer!! The best part was when I was done, I had energy and patience to finish my day off, I was happy!! I finally see how people can get addicted to running/working out, I can’t go more than 2-3 days without working out before I start to feel a little depressed, then I put on my running shoes and the “feel good” hormones come flooding in and I’m happy again! #justdoit #harderfasterstronger - @elena.k.cam on Instagram

Today my sister got attacked online by a black chick- and it’s such a disgrace 😤 she was claiming that my sister has been trying to claim that she’s full black or what they call “blackfishing” 🤭 (Makes me so sad!) . Nahhhh we just out here dodging bullshit judgement from almost most people that don’t actually know us!! Gets my blood boiling because it’s always been so hard wherever we go. . It’s taken YEARS for both of us to feel comfortable and confident in our skin. . Throughout my teen years I had to hide my black heritage from my white friends. I’ve always felt more comfortable around black people but wasn’t ever sure if I was black enough to hang. . This is what it FEELS like to be Multi-Racial- and we must take the time to heal this conversation. SO many multi-racial people don’t have the space to speak our minds and hearts- so we end up feeling outcasted and depressed about our looks or mixed lineage. . ⚡️I GIVE thanks for our UNIQUE beauty!
