Are you having unrealistic expectations of yourself? Imagine you were your best friend. What would they say to you? We can often put intolerable pressure onto ourselves to reach a certain goal, to get this work project finished, to never forget anything or to be the perfect parent. You are human, not a robot. When you start to feel overwhelmed, take stock of what you are asking of yourself. Is it reasonable do you think? Try to look in on it from a friend’s perspective, what would they say? Often if you step back and look at what you are doing you begin to calm down. You may feel that some of the things you felt you absolutely had to do can wait. Or maybe they don’t need to be done at all. Just remember that you are always doing the best you can with the tools you have available. Its not easy when experiencing anxiety to be ok with the thought that this BIG feeling is just anxiety. So test it . 🌱Ask a doc for a check up . 🌱If it passes in between 10 mins & 30 mins. Its probubly anxiety response from a cause such as the above. . 🌱If you notice that when you think about anxiety you feel worse, its the thoughts that are causing you anxiety. The FEAR of it=keep talking kindly to yourself, that this will pass . 🌱if you notice that a small feeling in your body is frightening you & then you feel worse.its the fear again. Remember get a little check up to clear up your worries. . 🌱if when you find you have something coming up, a trip, speaking infront of people, something thats challenging you &you at worrying about that or that youll feel anxious. Its the FEAR again. Speak to yourself. This is a feeling it wont stay forever it will pass. now that the days are getting colder and autumn is approaching, chances are, depressive episodes are coming for me. winter is my biggest depression trigger ever, and swedish winter is hellish to me (and like, most of us living here). i decided to sit down a little while ago and write down all my personal depression signs so i can be more mindful of when it might happen. it seems - well, depressing, to plan for depressive episodes, but that’s life with bipolar disorder. you gotta stay on top of your moods. i am a huge advocate for understanding your mental illness and knowing your triggers, warning signs, and symptoms. when i start feeling depressed, my extrovert heart grows uninterested in social interaction, and when i find myself around others i just feel so incredibly dull, bored and tired of playing the character that is myself. my energy is low and my motivation is pretty much zero. dishes pile up, teeth get that fuzzy feeling from not being brushed enough, room starts looking like a pigsty, it’s a whole mess. but once i realize that i might be depressed, the easier it gets to start fighting back, because you have to fight that damn depression until your will to retain your normal self is stronger than depression’s grip of your psyche. knowing what your depression looks like when it starts creeping up is really important. these are my signs of an incoming depression, what are your signs ? • • • #mentalhealth #mentalillness #mentalhealthawareness #psynligt #nostigma #mentalhealthwarrior #recovery #art #digitalart #artistsoninstagram #comic #crazyheadcomics - @crazyheadcomics on Instagram

Anxiety Attack vs. Panic Attack ⬇️ A panic attack is an intense and sudden feeling of fear, terror, or discomfort accompanied by several other mental and physical symptoms. The symptoms of panic attacks are often so extreme that they cause severe disruption. According to the DSM-5, a panic attack is characterized by four or more of the following symptoms: Feelings of unreality (derealization), Feeling detached from oneself (depersonalization), Fear of losing control or going crazy, Fear of dying (mental symptoms) and Heart palpitations, pounding heart, or accelerated heart rate, Excessive sweating, Trembling or shaking, Sensations of shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, Feeling of choking, Chest pain, Nausea or abdominal distress, Feeling dizzy, unsteady, lightheaded, or faint, Numbness or tingling sensations (paresthesias), Chills, Hot flashes (physical symptoms).
