- First post! Got a new lathe so I took the opportunity to build a new mobile Tool Caddy/Lathe table.
- This is our clamping system to built laminated timber beams very fast.

Vorlage war die Station von @mrhandwerk Ich habe mich bewusst für nur eine klappbare Verlängerung entschieden da ich auf der anderen Seite die TKS auf gleicher Höhe stehen habe. 👍🏼 Im nächsten Schritt bekommt der Unterschrank noch 4 Schubkästen, Material und Auszüge liegen schon bereit😁 Für alle die an solch eine Umsetzung denken hab ich einen Tipp: nehmt keine billigen Baumarktscharniere, die haben einfach zu viel Spiel und dadurch wird es ungenau. Ich habe vergessen die Leisten zum grade halten mit Tape abzukleben 😑 Diese modernen Leime halten leider verdamt gut, auch bei winzigen Mengen... Danach war geklärt welche Seite nach oben kommt 😅 Kurz vor Ende so ein Fehler. Wer kennt’s noch? Today was Dominoday. But it wasnt enough for a world record 😉 I made a small mistake while gluing. I forgot to cover the strips, which keeps the plank straight, with tape 😑 Unfortunately, these modern glues hold up pretty well, even in tiny amounts ... Now it is clarified which side comes up 😅 So close before the end such a mistake. How would you have done it? • • If youve seen @nsbuilders most recent post, youd know that @patrick__mcpherson and I have been working on the stairs for this monostringer. • • @theothernick.nsb goal was to have the tread sit in such a way that the stringer would basically split the miter. The only problem with that was that the treads were already preassembled (with the exception of the bottom). We made a jig that would allow us to route the miter and the rounded corners all in one shot. I think they came out 👌 but would love to know if anyone had a different way to do it! • Edit: Just to get ahead of this question, yes that gap against the steel is intentional. - My first hand cut dovetail joint using the David Barron magnetic guide.
- I had a client bring in some wood from their dad’s home. They wanted a gift for their brother, who is a firefighter. So I torched the wood, stabilized it, and poured an orange powder in the cracks. Then I covered it in clear acrylic. It looks like it’s still smoldering. 356 grams, 3 deg loft.

Gestern einen Spanauffangkasten (oder wie man das auch immer nennt 😜) für die Kappsäge gebaut. Mir ging das immer auf den 🍪 wenn sich trotz Absaugung überall rund um die Kappsäge die Späne verteilen. Also musste ein Kasten her der sich hinten um die Kappsäge schmiegt. Bei meiner Säge muss ich ein Loch für den Führungszug einbauen. Das habe ich so klein wie möglich gehalten und das Stromkabel kann auch dadurch weggeführt werden. Habe alles aus 9mm Multiplex gebaut um es leicht und trotzdem stabil zu haben. Innen alles abgeschliffen und die Kanten mit der Fräse bearbeitet. Was nach nicht viel aussieht hat ein paar Stunden gedauert 😅 Bin aber zufrieden mit dem Ergebnis und nun werden die überschüssigen Späne gut aufgefangen und verteilen sich nicht mehr überall. Here’s a closer look at our bending wall. The design was created by my Project manager @theothernick.nsb and he got us these cnc’d plates so that we could essentially build a temporary tower to bend and laminate our “stringer”and “joist”. Left side of wall bends the stringer right side bends the opening. In this specific picture you see pretty much a return wall that we built just to be an extension of the original wall, we figured the best way to laminate the stringers was essentially out of place so we can run them long since both the stringer and joist laminations are cut at the center point of the minor axis. So pretty much we needed to make sure when we bent the laminations that we brought the right shape and flow all the way around to the other side clearing the apex, Studs were 6” oc until we got to the tight radius which we then made close as possible while still being able to fit a clamp. #TeamWork #LearningCurves #BendingWall #Woodworking #Elipse #StairDesign #Challenge #Carpentry #Remodeling #Design - @lasacarpentry on Instagram

Aber das hindert mich nicht daran, dass ich trotzdem ein paar kleine Projekte machen kann. So auch dieser 10ner Gabelschlüssel, ebenfalls für das Mofa Boardwerkzeug. Er ist klein handlich und perfekt dafür, die Seitenverkleidung zu entfernen. Stück für Stück, werde ich mir das ganze Werkzeug machen. Als Ausgangsmaterial verwendete ich Eiche. Und als Finish wieder meine eigene Mischung. Man nennt mich auch der Deutsche Finisher, Spaß beiseite, macht’s gut und bis die Tage. Ade war schee, euer Dome. - Finally got around to building a DIY cyclone dust extractor for my shop vac. Less than a $2 investment using buckets I already had and a bulk box of old Kirby vacuum parts I found at a thrift store. Credit goes to Chris Notap on Youtube for the design.

- You always hear to air dry for one year per inch of thickness... I recently had two slabs from the same log that were bowed so bad I had to cut them in half. They have been drying since April 2017. The 2.5 inch slab was at 11.3% and the 3.5 inch was at 14.4% neat to see the difference.
- End of day one of my Moxon vise build. I still have a mountain of detail work to do, but it is getting there. Dovetails will be so much easier once it is done.

Es funktioniert, was will ich mehr? Was den Fräser angeht: vielen Dank für die vielen Rückmeldungen von euch. Ich habe hier den Hinweis von @dominik_ricker befolgt und einen großen Nutfräser mit Grundschneide genommen. Da ich vorerst nicht plane soetwas in nächster Zeit zu wiederholen, lohnt sich ein Planfräser nicht. It was already visible in the photo yesterday. @basti.bastelt and I have built a device for flattening. Without a lot of frills and built from what was in stock. It works, what more do I want? As for the cutter: Thank you for all the feedback. I followed the advice from @dominik_ricker and took a large groove cutter with a basic cutting edge.
