- You always hear to air dry for one year per inch of thickness... I recently had two slabs from the same log that were bowed so bad I had to cut them in half. They have been drying since April 2017. The 2.5 inch slab was at 11.3% and the 3.5 inch was at 14.4% neat to see the difference.

- Help! How do I fix this? Im going to inset the top of my box into this rabbet. I cut the rabbet on the router using the fence and carefully positioned stop blocks, yet for some reason, the bit went a bit proud at the corners. Try to fix with the router scares me.

Servus liebe Holzbrüder, Schwestern und Würmer. Zur Zeit komme ich etwas weniger in die Werkstatt, beruflich bedingt. Aber das hindert mich nicht daran, dass ich trotzdem ein paar kleine Projekte machen kann. So auch dieser 10ner Gabelschlüssel, ebenfalls für das Mofa Boardwerkzeug. Er ist klein handlich und perfekt dafür, die Seitenverkleidung zu entfernen. Stück für Stück, werde ich mir das ganze Werkzeug machen. Als Ausgangsmaterial verwendete ich Eiche. Und als Finish wieder meine eigene Mischung. Man nennt mich auch der Deutsche Finisher, Spaß beiseite, macht’s gut und bis die Tage. Ade war schee, euer Dome. - PSA: When cutting curves, always keep the offcuts, because when your workpiece breaks, youll need it to make a square clamping surface to glue your work back together.
- Tool Tip: Dont have a flat tooth blade for splines (or even a small enough chisel to clean up the grooves)? Find a small flathead screwdriver and make it a small chisel!

How would you have done it? • • If youve seen @nsbuilders most recent post, youd know that @patrick__mcpherson and I have been working on the stairs for this monostringer. • • @theothernick.nsb goal was to have the tread sit in such a way that the stringer would basically split the miter. The only problem with that was that the treads were already preassembled (with the exception of the bottom). We made a jig that would allow us to route the miter and the rounded corners all in one shot. I think they came out 👌 but would love to know if anyone had a different way to do it! • Edit: Just to get ahead of this question, yes that gap against the steel is intentional. Ich habe hier den Hinweis von @dominik_ricker befolgt und einen großen Nutfräser mit Grundschneide genommen. Da ich vorerst nicht plane soetwas in nächster Zeit zu wiederholen, lohnt sich ein Planfräser nicht. It was already visible in the photo yesterday. @basti.bastelt and I have built a device for flattening. Without a lot of frills and built from what was in stock. It works, what more do I want? As for the cutter: Thank you for all the feedback. I followed the advice from @dominik_ricker and took a large groove cutter with a basic cutting edge. - I have been integrating 3D printing into my woodworking, mainly for jigs and fixtures. Here, I modeled a knob in CAD, printed a reference copy, and created jigs to get the spacing and diameters consistent.

- I might have gotten a little carried away with cabinets to store gun parts.
- First bend I did on this form required 4 hands and around 8 clamps. Got it down to 2 hands and 2 clamps. Aprox. 2”x2” with twenty laminations Walnut and Cherry. Where there’s a will there’s a way.

- I had a client bring in some wood from their dad’s home. They wanted a gift for their brother, who is a firefighter. So I torched the wood, stabilized it, and poured an orange powder in the cracks. Then I covered it in clear acrylic. It looks like it’s still smoldering. 356 grams, 3 deg loft.
