🚩RED FLAGS – NO WATER ENTRY🚩 --------------- Why Red Flags? Beach Rescue personnel have been getting this question a lot after numerous days of red flags. Red flags are a tool utilized by ocean rescue organizations to keep the public safe and limit the number of drownings that occur each year. We fly red flags for your own safety. With hurricane Paulette passing off our shores early this week and hurricane Teddy now approaching towards the eastern seaboard, large swells and heavy winds have pushed in. Massive waves and large tide swings along the Outer Banks and east coast have attacked dune lines and opened up massive rip currents along the way. We mitigate foreseen drowning risks by flying red flags and keeping people out of the water. Per the Currituck County red flag ordinance, no water entry is allowed outside of surfers with a fiberglass surfboard at least 5 feet in length with at least one fin used in conjunction with a leash. Red flag conditions are re-evaluated each morning and take into consideration wave size and condition, rip current activity, littoral current, and predicted swell throughout that day. Buongiorno! ☀️😎 Oggi vi parlo di luoghi tranquilli. Partiamo dal presupposto che io mi ritengo una persona amante della natura (sia mare, che montagna, che collina ecc..) Mi piace stare in compagnia, ma a volte sento il bisogno di rifugiarmi nella mia solitudine. È come se fosse una terapia contro lo stress. Per far sì che funzioni, devo recarmi in un luogo isolato a contatto con la natura dove posso liberare la mente e allo stesso tempo sentirmi in pace con me stessa. Di solito è più facile trovare luoghi sperduti in ambienti montani piuttosto che al mare, in quanto le spiagge sono di fatto luoghi affollati. Per fortuna esistono anche spiagge meno popolate. Per esempio a 35 minuti dalla mia città in Romagna cè una spiaggia molto carina: La Spiaggia della Bassona di Ravenna. Situata nella frazione di Fosso Ghiaia, allinterno della Riserva Naturale della Foce del Bevano. Inoltre è casa di diverse specie protette di uccelli e altra flora e fauna selvatica. - How my best friend feels in the middle of his deployment
New spot on our Hidden California site! During one of our annual Hidden CA roadtrips, we hiked to one of the most curious phenomenons. Located alongside a reservoir is what appears to be an unearthed kingdom from the ancient days. Strange pillar formations tower along the shoreline, twisting 20 feet high. It would not seem unlikely to assume this was a man-made structure, but it’s not! These columns had actually been hidden for over a billion years before the reservoir’s pounding waves began carving them back out. Researchers determined that the structures were created by a combination of cold water dripping down and steam rising out of hot volcanic ash, then spewed by a cataclysmic explosion 760,000 years ago. They are an astounding product of a natural experiment in the physics of hydrothermal convection. The columns began forming by snow seeping into the hot tuff, thus boiling and creating evenly-spaced convection cells similar to heat pipes. X-rays were able to prove that tiny spaces in the convection pipes were bonded together by erosion-resistant minerals. It is believed that as many as 5,000 of these columns exist within a 2-3 sq. mile radius of the lake. No sé si os habéis enterado de que una tortuga (caretta caretta) ha anidado en la playa de la Mar Bella en Barcelona. Es algo poco habitual y muy buenas noticias. Las tortugas tardarán 2 meses en nacer y desde ocean52 buscamos voluntari@s que quieran custodiar (2 personas cada turno) el nido día y noche en tramos de 2h a partir del 1 de agosto. Entre todos podemos conseguir que las pequeñas tortugas lleguen al mar. Es una actividad muy bonita y realmente única. Has de ser mayor de edad o venir acompañada de una persona adulta. 5 HÁBITOS QUE ADQUIRI MORANDO NA ALEMANHA 🇩🇪 . . 1. Separar o lixo A reciclagem é um tópico muito importante aqui na Alemanha e era uma coisa que eu infelizmente não dava a mínima atenção no Brasil. Vir para a Alemanha e ir morar com uma família nativa (devido ao Au Pair) que tinha esses hábitos, me fez abrir os olhos e desde então eu levo isso pra vida. . . 2. Desejar um “Bom Apetite” antes das refeições Isso é até engraçado de escrever, mas realmente eu não falava isso com tanta frequência como eles fazem aqui. É sagrado sempre alguém dizer ‘Guten Appetit’ antes das refeições, e até se alguém te ver e você já está comendo sua refeição, eles vão dizer também. . . 3. Comer o pão em duas partes Cortar o pão carioquinha, de sal, cacetinho, seja lá qual é o nome da sua região haha, em duas metades e comer primeiro uma e depois a outra, especialmente com queijo, geleias, ou outros produtos derivados do porco. No Brasil eu comia, e acho que a maioria de vocês também, o pão com recheio dentro, como se fosse um sanduíche, e aqui acabei adquirindo o hábito alemão. (Eles também comem o pão com recheio dentro, mas é bem mais comum ver eles vendidos nas padarias do que dentro de casa) . . 4. Não usar os sapatos da rua dentro de casa É bem óbvio isso nos tempos de chuva e neve, a gente anda na rua e não quer levar lama ou outras sujeiras pra dentro de casa. Mas no caso, na maioria das casas aqui na Alemanha a regra se estende por todo o ano e é super normal ter um local perto da porta de entrada para se deixar os sapatos. Você anda na casa de meia e ainda pode manter os pés quentinhos 😊😊 . . 5. Tomar água com gás Não tenho nada a dizer nesse ponto em minha defesa hahaha eu detestava água com gás no Brasil, mas aqui eu só tomo assim. E é um hábito alemão! Se você pedir água em um restaurante, por exemplo, e não especificar qual, você irá receber água com gás. . . ▶️ AGORA ME DIZ QUAL HÁBITO ALEMÃO VOCÊ ADQUIRIU POR AQUI 😜⤵️ . . Todas as situações citadas são de acordo com as MINHAS experiências pessoais tanto no Brasil quanto na Alemanha.
