I captured this picture a couple of weeks ago during the day. It was right before school started and I couldn’t help but feel so many emotions that made me feel like I have failed Adrian, Abby and AJ. These last five months have been rough for all of us as adults, children, and especially those in the special needs community. For me as I watched Adrian balance himself on the ball looking out the window, I could not help but feel a sense of guilt, frustration and helplessnes. That is because I feel like I should be doing more and coming up with different creative things to do with the kids but it’s hard when you have to be a wife, mom, daughter, worker, teacher, therapist and everything else that comes with the daily chore. Yet I make it thru each day with God’s help. That little boy that you see sitting by the door has shown me to never give up, that no matter how dark things can get, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and that God has been good to us in everything. Adrián is so resilient, strong, smart, with such a light spirit that he teaches each one of us that sometimes it is good to take a breather and see life how God sees it. He has also taught his brother and sister how to love and embrace different, this is taught on a daily basis even if they don’t realize it. Adrián adores his brother and sister and likes for them to be around him most of the time....lol... they can be a little overwhelming for him. All this to say that there is enough to give us the mommy guilt but let’s have some grace on ourselves, we will overcome because God is good! #autism#autismlove💙 #autismfamilysticktogether - @uniqu3families on Instagram

De meest gehoorde reactie op mijn ooglidcorrectie (and more) is dat was mij nou nog helemaal niet opgevallen. Ook is me gevraagd waarom ik zon rigoureuze stap zou zetten om iets te veranderen wat nou eenmaal bij mij hoort. En dat snap ik. Helemaal in deze tijd waarin we het hebben over #bodypositivity en het zó belangrijk is dat we met zn allen nou potverdorie eens gaan waarderen wat we wél hebben ipv te vervloeken wat we niet hebben. Dus ja, mijn heupen, die mij sinds ze in mn pubertijd een heel eigen leven zijn gaan leiden altijd zo onzeker hebben gemaakt, accepteer ik inmiddels zoals ze zijn. Ik probeer ze onder controle te houden door (zo nu en dan) te letten op wat ik eet en (zo af en toe) wat extra te bewegen. Slank (of putjesloos) zullen ze nooit worden, maar ze horen bij mij en zorgen ervoor dat mijn slanke taille nog nèt een tikkie slanker lijkt. Als dát geen omdenken is 😊 Ook ben ik gestopt te balen van mijn zwabberende bovenarmen, hangborsten, fikse bilpartij en niet meer zo héél platte buik. Want ja, ik heb ook geen zin om snoeihard te sporten of de rest van mijn leven op worteltjes te moeten knagen en dan is dit de consequentie. En trouwens, wie heeft ooit bedacht dat strak en slank de norm moest zijn? Serieus, wie was dat? Want die mag zich ergens in een heel donker hoekje de ogen uit dr knappe hoofdje gaan zitten schamen. Maar waarom kon ik dan tóch niet over die wallen heen stappen? Ze accepteren (en omarmen) zoals ik dat bij mijn andere onvolkomenheden ook gedaan heb? Ik denk dat dat komt omdat die wallen zó niet meer passen bij wie ik nu ben en hoe ik in mn vel zit. Ik voel me zelfverzekerder en energieker dan ooit en het vermoeide gezicht wat ik in de spiegel zag, paste daar gewoon niet meer bij. Fotos van het eindresultaat moet ik jullie nog even onthouden, maar Sven heeft alvast een tipje van de sluier opgelicht. Being a parent means also to be a human playground😅 at least my boys aka double trouble love climbing, jumping and play on me😅But now after months together it is mixed emotions to send them off to school starting again and have two hands free and undisturbed mind to work and manage all the things to be done on the to do list. It all seems a whole new world where faces are not seen due to COVID protection, hands need to be sanitized often and the children can not play close to each other or walk around freely in their schools. 🐮BOUNTY🐮 Havent posted in awhile, dont have any recent pictures of Mika, and last time I did some question things on my stories you guys said you wanted to see more of Bounty, so here he is! I dont remember if Ive really introduced him on here or not so heres a little background info on him😉 He was born 12/24/19 and we got him 4/26/20. Hes a hereford steer and weighed 368lbs when we got him and while hes fairly short, hes still grown a lot since then! Im using him as an SAE for FFA but wont be showing or selling him (Im just raising him for our family). As the born optimist I am, hoping for just a little snow this winter - I played with making snow goggles today.❄️👓 Since I didn’t have a cool reindeer or whale bone, I went for an already curved piece of fresh birch wood. The curved grain is really important if you don’t want the goggles to crack, because it’s optimal to have them going into your head for most protection. I learned that the hard way (last picture; also those that almost bit didn’t make it.) Sometimes the only way to create progress is being ok with mistakes and to learn from them. Especially carving out the narrow slits to look through was a bit harder than it looks... 🔪 While I was carving I was thinking about other options for snow goggles in a survival situation. The intensity of the sun’s rays, reflected by the snow can cause severe snow blindness. You might have access to wood, but unless you have enough time and energy (took me about 3 hrs to make them right.) you will most likely have to look into other material options. Duct tape goggles was straight forward to make. They were kinda flimsy no matter how many layers I added on, and got too close to my eyes, making them relatively uncomfortable to wear. Bark from trees are shown as an option in many survival books. In real life they can be difficult to make because they also have a tendency to crack easily when bended, and/or get too close to your eyes. Especially in the winter time because the sap goes deeper in the tree to protect them, leaving the bark more dry. Webbing from a rucksack, textile strips from a t-shirt, leather belt to cut out, cordage from some of your gear (because natural cordage is hard to get at winter unless you use roots.) You might have many more ideas but I’m sure you get the point. What’s on you is a bonus. If I were to walk a long time outdoors in snow, protecting my eyes, I have no doubt now that I would prefer using a little extra time on some goggles in hard material as eg. wood. Bei der Aussicht strahlt selbst der Wandermuffel und vom Luxus das Abendessen so richtig zu genießen 🍀 Nach dem leckeren Frühstück- es gab sogar frische Waffeln und Sekt 😬 ging es in die Seilbahn und auf den Berg - Amelie hatte so gar keinen Bock sondern wäre am Liebsten gleich in den Pool durchgestartet... 😅 tja so sind Eltern halt, schleppen das Kind mit auf den Berg und nach ein paar kleinen Motzversuchen erfreute sie sich dann doch an der Aussicht (von Papas Schultern 🤣). Auch hier alles total familientauglich, selbst mit dem Kinderwagen ist der Panoramarundweg gut zu meistern 👍 Nachmittags ging es dann noch mal in den Pool und die Rutsche war unser 😬😬 Henry hat den Tages-Rekord allerdings nicht geknackt...mimimimi 🤣 Danach ist Amelie in die Kinderbetreuung verschwunden und wisst ihr was wir abends gemacht haben ? 😬 als Charlie fertig war mit essen, haben wir sie auch in die Babybetreuung gebracht und haben unser Dinner zu zweit genossen...ahhh wie toll war es 🙏👍 sonst sieht unser Essen nämlich meist so aus: die erste Viertelstunde sind wir damit beschäftigt den Kindern essen zu besorgen, Häppchen zu schneiden, Tischdecken vorm herabziehen und Gläser vom umfallen zu retten und dann wenn wir bereit wären zu essen, ist Charlie fertig und möchte laufen und wir sind mit Einfangen beschäftigt... 🙈 aber wisst ihr was auch toll an so einem Hotel mit ganz vielen Familien ist? #mojbojspatou Zranenia sú súčasťou každého športovca. Ja ani zďaleka nie som výnimkou. Už dlhší čas ma trápi bolesť chodidla a po pravde chcela som s tým celým skončiť. Vzdať sa je príliš ľahké a tak rozhodla som sa Vám priblížiť ako ten môj ,,boj” vyzerá. Tu je moja ,,part” číslo 1: Všetko to začalo na MSR v polmaratóne, kde som ani zďaleka nebehala to, čo som si priala. V cieli si ma odchytil šikovný fyzio a povedal, STOP S BEHOM, čo najskôr RTG, ktorý určí moju diagnózu. Diagnóza znie: 3mm výrastok na päte, ktorý tlačí na tlanivo. Tiež povedal, že na moje chodidlo nemám najvhodnejšie tenisky, ktoré ešte moje zranenie posúvajú do horšieho štádia. Možno PONAUČENIE pre Vás, nie vždy veci, ktoré používajú najlepší, musia byť najlepšie aj pre Vás. Každý sme jedinečný a každý potrebujeme materiál, ktorý vyhovuje našim špecifikám. Čo sa týka mojej päty, tak príbeh bude pokračovať u špecialistu ortopéda, ktorý určí kam ma to celé zaveje. Či to bude rázová vlna, aplikácia krvnej plazmy alebo operácia. Our “mini campeur” has slept at nine different campsites before the age of 1. I still can’t believe we pulled off this much summer traveling. It’s been a blast but not without many challenges. Tomorrow we are about to leave for our very last trip and this time it’s outside of the province in Sanbanks. I’m excited! As for Quebec travel, this what we were up to this summer not in chronological order. Swipe➡️ Beaching at Lac Kénogami - @reseausepaq (2), Hikes at Fjord-du-Saguenay - Sepaq (2), whale watching in Saint-Simeon, mini trails and star gazing in Mont-Megantic - Sepaq, pit stop at Mont-Sainte-Anne, lazy days & SUP boarding at the lake at Mont Orford - Sepaq, running away from black flies at Mont Tremblant - Sepaq. For family fun, my all time favourite was Lac Kénogami because the sandy clean beach was great for a little explorer. For adult fun, the Fjord-du-Saguenay was by far one of the most scenic places I’ve ever visited in Quebec. For something close and familiar, I love Mont Orford (and Magog) but it can be a bit crowded. Tremblant is always lovely but this year we were DESTROYED by black flies. I don’t have much advice for camping with a baby other than avoid black flies and mosquito prone areas/seasons if possible. Our rookie mistake was hitting the Laurentians in the height of black fly season. Always time long drives with naps and keep the routine as much as possible. Pack lots of clothes for cold weather. Yup, that was another rookie mistake that had me fashioning a baby toque out of pants. Even the hard moments are memories that I will cherish forever. Dann musste er operiert werden und er fragte seinen besten Kumpel, ob er mit mir dahin geht. Ja, Kevin war der Freund meines Bruders.😵 Die Wochen nach dem Date hat sich einiges verändert für uns und auch unsere erst freundschlaflichen Gefühle haben sich geändert.🥰 Als wir uns verliebten kam ja noch die Frage ob er auch mit meien Sohn, der damals 2,5Jahre alt war zurecht kommt. Denn er hatte noch keine Kinder und war noch in einer Phase seines Lebens, wo er definitiv noch nicht der Meinung war bald welche zu haben😂 Anfangs musste ich ihn bremsen, mit den Weg gehen, da er keine Ahnung von der Verantwortung hatte und das viele Ausgehen hatte mich langsam gerädert.🤯 Aber er hat es dann auch gemerkt. Kindern ist es nämlich egal, ob man erst um 3 Uhr Zuhause war.😵😴 Dann plötzlich nach ca.2 Jahren Beziehung hatte er nicht nur eine Ehefrau sondern auch einen Sohn der ihn Papa nennen wollte, von sich aus und einen damals noch ungeborenen Sohn. Er hat das mit dem Großen so gut gemacht, dass ich auch bei unserem 2.Kind keine Bedenken oder Sorgen haben musste, dass ich mich um alles alleine kümmern müsse, oder am Ende wieder alleine da stehe. ( diese Ängste hat man einfach, wenn man das schon einmal durchgestanden hat) Ich hab so einen fleißigen, sportlichen und hilfsbereiten Mann an meiner Seite, dass ich manchmal merke wie faul ich sein könnte, wenn ich wollte...😂 Gut, dass ich aber gerne Sachen für andere mache und mich da nicht ständig bedienen lasse. Trotzdem ist er die größte Hilfe und der beste Ehemann den ich mir vorstellen kann. I remember so clearly each minute of meeting my husband for the first time 10 years ago today! We were complete strangers, but we had SO MUCH FUN! Today we want to talk about quick fix diets. Unfortunately, weve been hearing of more and more people using these types of diets and it upsets us. A lot. We feel its our job as fitness professionals to give quality advice to our followers and make weight loss as simple and easy as possible. We have a massive problem with the likes of Herbalife, Juice Plus and Slimfast as a weight loss tool. These companies suck people in who are desperate to lose weight with their massive weight loss claims but in reality, they do not work and heres the reason why. When you start following these types of shake diets you will lose weight at first. But the ONLY reason you will lose weight is because you are consuming LESS CALORIES than you normally would. Fact. In the short term you will drop a few kgs, until you realise that actually, swapping 2 meals per day for liquid is not only boring, but that you are hungry and irritable and that you cannot sustain that for the long term. Imagine meeting a friend for lunch and taking your shake?! No thanks. Oh and did we mention how expensive these products are?! 😱 Instead what you need to be doing is following a sensible and healthy eating programme including all food groups whilst staying in a small calorie deficit. This way you will still lose weight, but as its easy to sustain, the weight will STAY off. And you can enjoy that lunch with your friend. Easy. Clara was so fired up for a mountain adventure that she wanted to pack a batch of self-made PBJ sandwiches the night before. Our morning included a sweet fort, up close woodpecker watching, scat ID, discovery of mullein, checking out a porcupine, and quietly reading books in stands of ponderosa pines where we found trimmed cones and cuttings from Aberts squirrels. Highlights were the red panda, and the flamingo feeding, which welcomed more pigeons than flamingos 😂 . . Eine gute Beziehung zu den Tieren ist vor allem in der Milchviehhaltung sehr wichtig für eine harmonische Zusammenarbeit. Im Bild seht ihr Antje. Sie ist jetzt fast 4 Monate alt und wird mal Teil unserer Milchviehherde. Auch sie ist mein ganzer Stolz. Ich liebe ihre ruhige und neugierige Art. Und ihren Sturkopf. Seit etwa drei Monaten haben wir keines mehr verkauft. Und wollen das auch in Zukunft nicht mehr tun. Wir finden, alle Tiere verdienen Wertschätzung und ein Zuhause das ihren Bedürfnissen entspricht. Als ich heute Morgen aufgewacht bin, hatte ich keine Erwartungen an den Tag. Ich habe mich einfach gefreut - auf mich, meine Kinder, meinen Mann, diesen Tag ohne Plan. Auf Geburtstagsmuffins und Pflaumenkuchen und darauf einfach nichts machen zu „müssen“. Keinen Kuchen zu backen, Essen zu kochen, Gäste zu empfangen. Und für die Feier (und für mich natürlich) das Haus zu putzen, zu dekorieren, den Tisch auszuziehen und einzudecken. Ich liebe das sehr - meine wundervollen Freundinnen und meine liebe Familie um mich zu haben - doch diese Vorbereitung bedeutet für mich auch Stress. Und klar, das liegt an meinen Ansprüchen an Perfektion und so. Ich habe es als Kind und Jugendliche erlebt, dass das Haus für Feiern immer hergerichtet wurde (da wurde teilweise sogar der Staub auf den Schränken gewischt 😂), meine Mama stand stundenlang in der Küche und hat Essen vorbereitet. Meine Brüder und ich haben geholfen, so gut wir konnten (und wollten). Am Ende waren es meistens wunderschöne gesellige Abende und der Mühe wert. Das habe ich so übernommen. Und ein wenig konnte ich da die letzten Jahre schon loslassen und doch bleibt dieses Gefühl von Hustle da, wenn ich dran denke „Gäste“ zu empfangen. Heute war es anders. Es ist eine andere Energie hier in den Bergen. Dazu hatten wir perfektes Wetter. Also so richtig. Kurze Hose und Shirt und nur draußen sein und das auf 1060m Höhe. Ein ausgiebiges Frühstück, ein Wildblumenstrauß mit Enzian 😍, Waldheidelbeeren, Vogelsang, Berggipfel, Almfeeling pur. Wir sind spät raus und langsam und achtsam gewandert, haben die Zeit einfach genossen, im Wald gespielt und auf der Alm getanzt. Ich hatte schon viele richtig schöne Geburtstage, doch dieser hier und heute war ganz besonders. Er hat mich ruhiger gemacht und mich so reich beschenkt. Mit Liebe, Lachen, Besonnenheit, Zeit und Aufmerksamkeit. Und einem klaren Sternenhimmel inklusive Milchstraße genau über unseren Köpfen. 😉 Its me 😉 Ojee...ik heb volgers die ik niet ken maar die mijn interieur mooi vinden. Dat vind ik hartstikke leuk maar misschien moet ik me toch eens voorstellen voor diegene... (want wat ben ik blij met jullie 😘) Ik ben Kim, net weer een jaartje ouder geworden (36 jaar alweer 💪). Vrouw van @koenjer de liefste man ter wereld. En moeder van 4 kids, de oudste is the one and only, Liz...onze prachtige, lieve dochter. En daarna kwamen 3 muiters van leuke, stoere ventjes, Youp Dez en Huub. Zoals je kunt zien had ik vandaag een dagje met alleen de oudste en jongste. We zijn heerlijk gaan fietsen, picknicken en een wandelingetje gemaakt. Wat hebben we genoten (wat heb ik een zere kont 🙈), wat is het hier toch prachtig. Het mooie Wijhe aan de IJssel en omgeving. Volgende keer vast weer een interieur/tuin plaatje. Of misschien toch weer 1 van de kids 🤭. Van super hip tot ouderwets kneuterig, maar bijna allemaal met speeltuin.
