Life’s not about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain ☔️🎥 . . The first few weeks of lockdown was definitely tough and confusing for everyone as for most of us it happened so quickly and things ground to a halt almost immediately. This helped us reassess what is important to us and we started to think a lot more clearly about what it is we actually want from life without, without all the humming to distract our minds! 🙏🏾 . . If you’re stuck in a rut or negative cycle, I’d say embrace the change! A lot of us are holding on for things to go back to ‘normal’ but let’s be honest they probably won’t for a very long time even after the lockdown. Deliveroo - Deliveroo for Business 🌮 @deliveroo ⠀ This was an incredibly fun project to work on and light. As we were working at a scale lighting food puppets we had the opportunity to tweak and try out many lighting setups, without a great deal of effort. This past week would have been the 14th Annual Fort Myers Beach International Film Festival. An amazing film festival that brings in over 100 filmmakers world wide to the island of Fort Myers Beach. Not only is Red Flight Pictures a proud sponsor, but we are honored to be the official programming team for the last two years. Of course it wasn’t a surprise that this event for the first time in 10 years had to get postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was a tough week for us as we should have been spending the time with some amazing filmmakers but we knew it was the right choice for the safety and health of everyone. Covid-19 has changed a lot in the film industry but we have to stay optimistic in times like these. That being said, we can wait for this film festival to happen in September. [link in bio] Hey! We raised the money to pay off the lens on my credit card! I extended my goal in hopes of making up for the other lost equipment - but no pressure at all. Leaving it up til my birthday on October 1st!! Someone broke into my studio and stole my Canon Mark III 5D, my Sigma 1.4 50mm art lens, my Canon 2.8 14-24mm lens, and my Canon 70-200mm 2.8 lens. Robbing me of around $5000-$6000 I hate that I am setting this up. Link in bio. I am only trying to raise money for my Canon 70-200mm 2.8 lens, because I just bought it, at the end of June on a credit card, and without the lens it will be hard to pay off. If I raise the money, I will be sure to record myself using that money to pay off the credit card statement. I also have all the proof to show when I bought the lens, how much Ive paid off ($60 lol), and how much more needs to go, which is 1300. I don’t expect anything tho, but I thought I’d try. Robert Rees, born by a farm near the village of Llanrhian in 1950. He took interest in tractors & machinery from a young age. His first job was at Pontiago garage by Strumble Head until 1980. He then opened his own agricultural garage in Llanrhian until present. He’s also spent many years harvesting & growing new potatoes. His hobbies are working on tractors, machinery, steam traction engines & series 1 land rovers. He’s also a singer - a tenor of traditional songs. I had tried to find Robert last year to shoot a portrait with but he managed to elude me so this year I managed to to find him sat in his garage chatting to friends passing by. His generous conversation was a trip back in time and this handsome Welshman regaled me with his passion for singing, western films and life in his garage. Formally, they explore incompleteness and linguistic ingraspability, apparent both in their approach to performance as in the sculptural objects and environments that they propose, offering ways to renegotiate our complex relationship to Nature. For ‘Modern Nature’ they’re presenting a new work around the rue, a plant with a variety of medicinal properties that is largely depicted in Lithuanian folklore and is traditionally connected to female spaces and knowledge. By means of a performative sound installation, a traditional Lithuanian song is repeated in a chorus and superimposed until rendering the lyric illegible. *** Conceived jointly by Basel-based curator Elise Lammer and La Becque, ‘Modern Nature: An Homage to Derek Jarman’ is a 3-year project that comprises the development of a garden and artistic programme inspired by the life and work of British filmmaker, artist, activist Derek Jarman (1942–1994). This year has been hard- to say the least, and it hasn’t felt good. I am very proud and delighted to present the first picture for this season’s @rare.jewelry campaign. As most of those that know me already know, I only work with clients I like and I only speak about products that I personally like. When it comes to Rare Jewelry, it’s both of these things together! Creating this campaign featuring @idaslundgren together with the brilliant designer and Creative Diractor for Rare Jewelry @dannielarsson and stylist @mialinkvon has been a really fun and wonderful experience! The jewellery from @rare.jewelry is really extraordinary! Carefully selected high quality metals and precious stones together with impeccable craftsmanship make their pieces truly unique. This campaign only features the amazing female collection, and I am also a huge fan of Rare’s men’s jewellery as you can see from my black diamonds and gold bracelet. This first image was lit with my @profotoglobal Giant Reflector 300 and a Fresnel Small as main lights and a WideZoom Revlector on the background. The Giant Reflector 300 was as a general soft and crispy light while the pinpointed and focused Fresnel Small was to create a hard light just for the jewellery, in order to get as much definition as possible while still maintaining a general soft mood. Are you also very selective of your clients or are you just working for money? And would you be willing to turn down a fat payment if you didn’t enjoy working with the client? For me it’s not about the money (although I don’t believe in the starving artist syndrome), it’s about creating with people that are fun to create with and if we appreciate each-other’s crafts then the shoot becomes great. Но про эту локацию я знал давно и хотел там сделать съемку. Павильон неимоверного размера с огромным окном с одной стороны. Сложность была именно в размерах павильона и в том, что надо качественно осветить машину и наших героев. Я хотел обыграть имеющееся естественное освещение, которого было мало (все-таки зима), и для этого хотелось использовать большие плоскости отраженного света для освещения достаточно большой площади и отрисовки красивых бликов на машине. Я люблю работать с постоянным светом. Он даёт более прогназируемый результат и лучше вписывается в естественный рисунок освещения. Мы использовали 12-футовую раму с ultrabounce, 6kW Arri HMI, 2 aputure 300d2 и лампы Astera для локальной прорисовки. • Our friend and photographer @alexkolpa made a review of his shooting for Mercedes. We want to show you some results and back shots. “Unfortunately I wasn’t involved in scouting. But I heard about this location long ago and wanted to shoot there. The size of the pavilion is incredible and there’s a huge window on one side. The difficulty was precisely in the size of the pavilion and in the fact that we needed to light up both the car and our heroes. I wanted to play the natural lighting resources, which was not enough since it’s still winter, and for this I wanted to use large surfaces of reflected light to light up a large enough area and create beautiful highlights on the car. I always love working with continuous light. It gives a more predictable result and combines better with the natural light.
