THE OLD LIFEBOAT STATION, POLPEOR COVE, THE LIZARD, CORNWALL, UK⠀ 📷 Harishkumar Shah⠀ ⠀ The Lizard peninsula is the most southerly point of the British mainland, and its rocky coasts have been particularly hazardous to shipping heading to and from the port of Falmouth, and into the English Channel, over the years. An RNLI lifeboat was based in Polpeor Cove until 1961 when it was relocated to nearby Kilcobben Cove, which was better suited to the newer, faster boats brought in by the RNLI.
