New class on Youtube📽 And here is a breakdown for using Saul the Ball for strengthening your core and working toward handstand. For the class, you dont have to have a ball to do it- its at the very end. 🥳 ⭐Heres what is in this video: -start with the ball at shin height and walk forward to dd and then plank -hold plank focusing on strong glutes, neutral scapulae (feeling them secure on the back ribs) -pull femurs into pelvis and drop your gaze slightly as you lift the hips over the shoulders. Repeat -then maybe, if you feel steady, hold hips over shoulders, extend one leg and switch or hold and maybe the bottom leg floats. Here are some of my favorite frontal plain hip abduction exercises 𝟏. 𝐋𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐬 (𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 𝟏) 𝟐. 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐇𝐢𝐩 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 𝟐) 𝟑. 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐩 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟒. 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐋𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐞𝐠 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞 (𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 𝟑) 𝟓. 𝗪𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐋𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐞𝐠 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞 Typically over the course of my weekly training program, I aim to include 2 movements using the transverse plain (see my previous post) and 2 movements of the frontal plain. Programming this way is more likely to target all muscles of the glutes, not just one area. I.e. upper and lower glute maximus and the upper glute medius. Further, not everyone feels every single exercise the same way, so trying a variety of movements will help you to find exercises that effectively isolate your glutes. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐈 𝐝𝐨? The number of sets you should complete per week is largely determined by your training experience and glute strength. If you are brand new to training, you may need to start with only 2 sets of each exercise using the lightest resistance band. As you become more experienced, your technique will improve & so will your strength. At this point you may like to increase to 3-4 working sets & use a stronger resistance. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐈 𝐝𝐨? These exercises are very isolated, so from a programming perspective trying to target low reps & heavy resistances isn’t advisable. Instead target a higher rep range of 15 + per set. Working in this range is considered the hypertrophy rep range. If you find you have to do 30 + reps to achieve your desired workout intensity, you may need to consider increasing the bands resistance. Eating meat and vegetables with low glycemic carbs.
