Topic: Eccentric vs Concentric Movements -- Are eccentric or concentric concentrations more important in inducing muscle growth? -- Facts: Skeletal muscle contracts by shortening (concentric) or lengthening (eccentric). Gordon’s previous studies show “maximum force is produced when the overlap of the myosin and actin filaments enables the formation of the maximum number of cross-bridges, which occurs at the optimum sarcomere length”. Huxley’s model demonstrates that lengthening, eccentric, produces the greatest force between eccentric, concentric, and isometric due to a greater stretch of myosin. Positive movements (concentric) use up 6 times the amount of energy of negatives (eccentric) showing a greater toll on the body and recovery (Hoppeler). -- A study of concentric v. eccentric only movements observed various hypertrophic elements. Muscle girth, muscle ACSA, muscle volume, muscle thickness, muscle protein synthesis, and muscle lean mass didn’t show any substantial differences between the two movements. The combination of both movements resulted in significant fiber type II CSA increase. While eccentric movements can generate force, the two movements showed little difference in increasing muscle mass with a matched load (Franchi) -- Conclusion: Focus on all aspects of a lift. While eccentric movements allow a greater maximum force, eccentric and concentric movements are now seen to induce similar muscle growth. A good coach is also more than just macro protocols. We can work on deeper goals like your relationship with food and improving daily habits. You get progressive adjustments that will keep you moving forward towards your goal, and the accountability to keep you going when you start to doubt yourself. PANCAKE PROGRESSIONS 🥞 Swipe for Levels 1️⃣➡️6️⃣ If you’re like most of the adult population you are likely one Level 1-2. The pancake requires a very high level of flexibility in the hips to achieve and takes a lot of work to progress. But once you can pancake it opens up a lot of doors - one of the most common being the press handstand. If you can’t compress in straddle you will need to planche forward in your press and this requires a lot more strength. The journey to achieving a full pancake will open up your hips and lower back and allow you to move pain free in and out of the gym. Where is your pancake currently at? Pushing and pulling to stay healthy? This was something we learned day one in Exercise Science classes. It is really so simple. Do 3 sets of bench? Do 3 of rows. See how easy that was? It makes me wonder why so many people are still in pain when there is such a simple fix. My guess would be because it isnt that simple. Dont get me wrong, there is plenty of value when it comes to balancing pushing and pulling. But a joint as complex as the shoulder requires much more than that. And I wish there was a simple answer that I could type out in an Instagram post, but really there just isnt. What I CAN do however, is offer some ideas that I have found to be incredibly beneficial when it comes to joint health. 1. Rotation/alternating compression and expansion. If you dont know what I mean by this one, check out my last post on this topic. Alternating compression and expansion is how we as humans move. If we lose this ability, we lose the ability to move without compensation. And while compensation isnt always bad, it can often be the root cause of pain for people. 2. Unilateral exercises. This kind of goes along with the last one, but sometimes just doing a single arm bench press without even focusing on what is going on on the other side is enough to limit some pain in the shoulder. This is due to the other side being biased towards expansion, and because of that then potentially allowing more movement on the working side. 3. Vary angles. If you constantly flat bench, you will constantly stress the same tissues. One of my favorite discoveries when I first started lifting was adding the slightest of inclines to my DB bench assistance work. So simple, but just that simple switch on the bench gave my shoulders some much needed relief and was still specific enough to the flat bench to keep my progress going. 4. Vary equipment. A barbell will provide insane amounts of compression and potentially steal movement. If EVERYTHING you do one day is bilateral and with a barbell, I would bet a lot of money you will leave stiff. Throw in some DBs, a landmine press, a cable, anything else. This will influence the amount of compression on the body, while also giving you so - @pave.fit on Instagram

Contoh jenis latihan 𝔸𝕖𝕣𝕠𝕓𝕚𝕜 misalnya senam,joging, bersepeda,dayung, basket, sepakbola, dll Sedangkan pada 𝔸𝕟𝕒𝕖𝕣𝕠𝕓𝕚𝕜 produksi energi dilakukan tanpa menggunakan oksigen. Latihan anaerobik, di sisi lain, terjadi ketika kebutuhan energi tubuh melebihi yang disediakan oleh pernapasan sehingga tubuh dipaksa bekerja tanpa oksigen. Latihan 𝔸𝕟𝕒𝕖𝕣𝕠𝕓𝕚𝕜 meliputi sprint jarak dekat, angkat beban, dll. Selain itu perbedaan lain nya. Dalam latihan aerobik, oksigen digunakan untuk memecah glukosa, sedangkan pada latihan anaerobik, phosphocreatine digunakan untuk memecah glukosa. Latihan aerobik berfungsi memperlancar sirkulasi darah dan oksigen dalam tubuh. Latihan ini membantu mengurangi tekanan darah dan membakar lemak. Last week, we had an error and oversight that we would like to correct. We work with a third party advertising agency for design and graphics resources. Each image we use goes through an average of three reviews before it was approved. Recently, one image made it through our internal review process without having the proper rights and licenses. That image contained the photo of Movement Professional, Alan Lambie (@alanlambie), without his knowledge. The usage of this image was completely accidental and simply an oversight. We were notified that we were using Mr. Lambie’s photo without his permission. We immediately removed the photo from all social media and contacted Mr. Lambie directly to apologize for the oversight. In response to this incident, we have now implemented a new policy on how we create our product images. This new workflow will hopefully prevent this kind of oversight from happening again. Push ups are a big insecurity for a lot of women. . I know this because I hear about with my clients and now @madelinemihaly hears about it inside Built By Annie (BBA). . She told me I needed to make this post. So here we are 🤣 Thank Maddy. . Before we get into progressions, and how to use them, know this: . 💡You’re training a skill. . A skill that requires Strength and efficiency. . You need a strong core, strong lats, a strong chest and deltoids, triceps, and a strong back. (Yes, pulling can help improve pressing). . So have some grace for yourself. . The push-up might seem like a simple movement, but especially for women who often carry the majority of their weight in their bottom half, it is quite a difficult skill to master. . If you want to improve your push up, first think about it like the squat of the upper body 🤯. . 🧠💪🏽Hand contact matters, alignment of wrists to elbows to shoulders matters, your elbow path matters (45-60 degrees from the body) etc. . Generally: ▪️Use a slower down than up tempo (don’t judge me in these videos 🤣 it’s a blessing I could even do these). ▪️Use eccentrics (lowering only portion) . 👉🏽SWIPE ⬇️From knees and hands elevated (not videoed) ⬇️From knees ⬇️Then elevated hands (longer lever. No video) ⬇️Progress to the floor ⬇️Single arm deficit (offset push up) ⬇️Deficit push up ➡️Plyometic versions (offset, and bilateral shown here). . Once you get to a solid push up from your toes, we can also begin adding slow tempos or a weight vest as well. . Essentially with each progression we are increasing LOAD, RANGE OF MOTION, OR BOTH👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽(🤯, again, I know). . Best push up post you’ve ever seen? We have been finding some great ways to get out and practice this summer! Last month we had our first in person training on patient assessment at the hall. Taking advantage of our big garage doors to ensure lots of open air and spacing for the session. Our long time member and manager Randy led a great session! Last night a group of our rad SAR ladies went through personal fitness baseline training with Kat from Endless Fitness. She led us through testing in small groups and we had some compass and pacing exercises to keep the group busy in between. Meet Misha. 🧘🏽♀️ Being brought up in an Indian household, yoga philosophy has always been close to my heart. As someone who never did dance, ballet or gymnastics, I was never ‘naturally flexible’ and felt a bit intimidated going to classes. I had a vigorous gym routine, focused on what my body was looking like instead of how I truly felt. My regime soon became excessive, I was exhausted and suffering from anxiety. I came to yoga by chance at my gym. I learnt how to slow down by focusing on my breath and started noticing the quality of my thoughts. I look back now and cannot imagine a life without this practice. I have learnt that all yoga asks of us is that we come as we are and celebrate ourselves for everything our bodies CAN do. Yoga has taught me that I am good enough, that we are all good enough exactly the way that we are. I believe we are all beautifully unique in our own ways and yoga has taught me to truly embrace that. You don’t need to wear expensive yoga clothes, be stick thin and bend like a pretzel! I believe the most important things to remember stepping on a Yoga mat is to keep an attitude of non-judgment and self-acceptance. One pose may be hard, the other may be easier - it’s different for everyone and a personal practice. We call it a journey because there’s no end goal We learn something new each time. Yoga helps to establish a loving, companionate relationship with the body. If you’re not sure where to start, take a friend to a beginners class and go together. Sometimes we need to do the very thing we are nervous about to grow. If you’ve been putting off trying yoga, the best time to start is now! It’s a practice of building a caring relationship with your mind and body. Your flexibility, measurements, race, weight or gender are of no importance. Day 2 : Chauu dance workshop with Yash Uprati ______________________________ Chhau dance, also spelled as Chau or Chhaau, is a semi classical Indian dance with martial, tribal and folk traditions, with origins in eastern India. It is found in three styles named after the location where they are performed, i.e. the Purulia Chau of Bengal, the Seraikella Chau of Jharkhand, and the Mayurbhanj Chau of Odisha. The dance ranges from celebrating martial arts, acrobatics and athletics performed in festive themes of a folk dance, to a structured dance with religious themes found in Shaivism, Shaktism and Vaishnavism. The costumes vary between the styles, with Purulia and Serakeilla using masks to identify the character.
