On the other hand, the women in the no breakfast group didn’t consume additional calories and didn’t fluctuate weight (LeCheminant). -- When it comes to your metabolism, there is a great deal of concern that prolonging your fast will have a negative impact on RMR. Contrary to belief, studies by Betts and Jakubowicz disproved this notion with their trials. The studies, one was performed with leaner subjects and the other with overweight subjects, demonstrated that skipping breakfast didn’t influence RMR, total daily calories does. -- Conclusion: Breakfast isn’t necessarily the most important meal of the day. Whether breakfast is vital to achieving your goals is truly depends on whatever your preference is. Studies have proven that skipping breakfast won’t play an influential factor in weight loss or your metabolic rate. It all comes down to total caloric intake on the day. Tailor your distribution of calories throughout the day to your liking. If you are a breakfast eater then stick with eating a breakfast. If you aren’t a breakfast eater, that works too!
