Oh Simeon!! 😢So pleased I got to work with @simeon.cox. When I booked a tour for The Silver Apples in 1997 it was booked as a fixed show with The Azusa Plane and Windy & Carl. Azusa Plane couldn’t make it in the end and so the two bands did the European tour and I did a limited tour split 7” in green vinyl which became the first release on Rocket Girl. Simeon also contributed a track to the Rocket Girl 20th anniversary release. It was the opening track and i felt like we’d completed a circle of twenty years together. I saw them live many times and at several Terrastock festivals. I cherish those times and thank Simeon for supporting the label and being a large part of my musical history. The violence. The blood. The sweat. The tears that watered the soil of crops that fed the bellies of Amerikkkans laid the foundation of pain that the systems of this society were built upon. Systems that stole land from those Native to it. Systems that capitalized on a people’s knowledge of growth. Of care. Of stewardship. Our greatest gift of presence with the Earth became a driving force of the exploitation of our bodies. And still we prayed. We sang. We grew. And I believe the soil listens. The soil hears the words of the Indigeous that prayed with it long before why?te supremacy. The soil hears the cries of displaced African peoples under the violence perpetuated towards our bodies. The soil hears the cries of refugees whose voice reached out to them, offering sanctuary. I ask that the soil shake off the systems that oppress it. I ask that the soil break down walls that have no place on it. I ask that the soil swallow up violent energies causing harm upon it. If you are a why?te person, with access to land, as a visitor I ask you to honor it. Channel the resources you have been blessed to have to Black, Brown, Indigenous, Non why?te oppressed peoples. Start chipping away at the systems that allotted you power, by siphoning that power to the most vulnerable during this time. It is time to sow the seeds of a growing world, one that will feed 7 generations from us and honor 7 generations before us. This New Moon I ask that that we put our hands in the ground and do this work that will rapidly build a place where everyone is free. Not just the whyte skinned. Not just the lightskinned. Hey everyone! I’m excited because not only is today, July 31st, a Sales Tax Holiday here in TN- it’s also release day for Hula Hi-Fi’s new record, The Isle of Forgotten Dreams! I believe its worth noting that, by the time I moved to TN in 2017, @joshuakaler had already started Hula Hi-Fi with two amazing and talented women, @annieclements and Sarah Bandy @bandyette . The three of them made a beautiful album of covers called Hawaiian Noir, Vol.1. Everyone should check it out! Point is, I had some big shoes to fill by the time I joined the band a few years later for its next release, The Isle of Forgotten Dreams. This record is our musically fun and relaxed spin on all the unpleasant feelings that can accompany ones experience with disappearing love. ⚠︎︎ Open Roleplay ⚠︎︎ Another day gone for the Villainous man Dabi, it had been the same as any other in his daily life. He had just finished up an undercover mission for the League, and was all dressed in a Jet Black, Pressed suit, with a cream white undershirt to follow. The night was still young, and Dabi wasn’t ready to call it quits just yet. He needed some spice in his life, and ventured his way to the most luxurious Strip Club in all of Hosu. The villain was able to slip past security rather easily, being able to hide his identity pretty well by covering his scars with his long sleeves. He made his way inside to find the whole decor to be something out of a movie. Poles to his left, a bar to his right, and Dazzling strobe lights illuminating the strippers earning their bottom dollar. Dabi had a surplus of money to burn after his mission, and was more than willing to waste however he wanted About a half hour passes while the villain enjoyed his time, admiring the scenery, until out of the corner of his eye, he spots Y/C in a scandalous and revealing outfit patrolling the floor, and all his attention shifted towards you. There was a private room dedicated to lap dances behind closed curtains, and he found just the person he was looking for. He confidently approached Y/C, and pulled out a Strap of Hundred dollar bills, flashing it around to show it off. “You are just Drop Dead Gorgeous, too gorgeous to be working in a place like this. Come to the back with me, I’ll make it worth all the while” Dabi would say with his usual Deep tone, as Y/C reluctantly agreed, not able to resist the money. Both characters made their way through the crowd and to the back room. He brushed past the curtain, and even held it open like a gentleman so Y/C could enter as well. The villain took a seat in the leather chair and made himself comfortable, as Y/C began to strip down, and proceeded to give him a lap dance A usual dance only lasted 15 minutes, but it was always worth the money. Dabi enjoyed every minute of it, as Y/C grinded on him, and showed him moves that he didn’t know were possible. - @domdabi on Instagram

It’s with mixed emotions that I announce my departure from Ronnie scotts after 15 amazing years. I joined more or less straight out of Uni after being bowled over watching Liane Carroll live, got hired the next day as a receptionist and never looked back! I did several roles there over the years including managing operations, running the box office, pr, marketing and more, but my real passion was always the music. It was a dream come true to be given the opportunity in recent years to head up music & promotions at the club. It’s been a joy to use that position to champion amazing artists from around the world, try my luck calling an A-lister (always worth a shot which sometimes paid off), give an emerging artist an opportunity, trialling a 1am late show with all the tables taken out, or taking a risk trying something new outside the 4 walls. The focus was always working with the best artists, that Ronnies should be at the forefront of jazz in the U.K. and worldwide, and doing work that ensured the essence of Ronnie and Pete lives on. I’ve been fortunate to work with some brilliant people at the club, shout out to @a_los13 (my co-presenter of @sohoradio ‘The Thread’), @james.pearson.3705 , @nataliewilliamsmusic , the all stars, @fred_h_h_nash , Luis Ikeda, Alex, @paulpacejazz , @discodolly2, @christiandoho, @zhivile_zee , @milesashton4722 @demoisellefatin , @eraczkowski, @mikevitti, the Dog n Duck crew (I mean all the sound engineers & @toofkcin ), and all the rest of the crew at the club. And of course the musicians and their teams - many whom I’m lucky to count as good friends and without whose commitment to their craft Ronnies would be just another ‘Room for Hire’ (or a Costa. or a Pret. I shudder at the thought). I will be staying in the industry, and I hope in the future I’ll be lucky enough to work with some of you brilliant people who are reading this. Leitores que leram a história toda em 2 dias, uma tarde, em questões de horas. 🍣 Ter uma obra que instigue no leitor a curiosidade a ponto de se tornar irresistível o “virar das páginas” é motivo de enorme felicidade. 🍣 No entanto, a leitura rápida faz com que se perca detalhes e sutilezas do texto, especialmente no que diz respeito à Izzy, fazendo com que o leitor se pergunte “o que aconteceu com ela?”, “o que diabos ela é?”. 🍣 Neste ponto, preciso dizer: não há respostas escancaradas. As pistas do que ocorreu estão inseridas e salpicadas no texto desde o segundo parágrafo na construção das camadas da personagem.
