We just learned that a staff member has tested positive (likely exposure elsewhere), so were closing again to get everyone tested. This employee worked in the River Market shop, and was present from 4:30pm-10pm on August 4, 5, 6, 8, & 10. @ultraczech515 DAY ONE: 10k swim + 145k bike: 1st place, 6:37. We started into cold rising fog and finished under hot sun. I felt great in the water and fought for the lead for the first 2k portion. One wrong turn cost me roughly 50m and I stayed on my own. Tried for the next 8k to come back, but still felt a minute short. 2:51 was 4 minutes slower, when my record breaking race last year. Onto the bike it took me 20k to warm-up and take the lead. From that point on, I kept steady pace all the way to the finish with 39.2 kph average. Bear Lake Brawl done! Третий @zavidovosupchallenge в котором я принял участие. Дистанция увеличилась до 45 км. Я на протяжении лета готовился. Sup стал основной физической нагрузкой. Шёл на туринговой доске Red padlle 13, 2х30. По плану было пройти до питстопа на пульсе 140, а после ускориться до 150 Массовый старт, более 200 сапов рвутся в бой. Пульс не удержал и дошёл до питстопа 20 км по ветру со средним пульсом 155, мышцы устали но среднее время, меньше 8 минут на километр давало надежды. Но не тут то было, сразу после питстопа подул изнуряющий встречный ветер, и он не остановился до финиша. Как итог почти 7 часов гребли, 7 часов разговора с самим собой, контроля пульса и частоты гребков. Как жертва убегал от тех кто сзади, как хищник выслеживал и догонял впереди идущих, когда номер на спине ближайшего сапера читался, то его не отпускал. 18 000 гребков, средняя частота гребка 44 /мин, средняя частота пульса 146 об/минуту В итоге занял 14 место Как отработал доволен, пора переходить на жёсткую доску. - @sergio_bylinios on Instagram

National ice cream weekend To celebrate National Ice Cream Week, we wanted to make some special flavors for just this weekend. We only made 2 tubs of each so get some while it lasts! When a mate proposes a ride involving gravel, beaches and beer, we’re legally obliged attend. So to celebrate King (@cosmojmb ) Kong punching out another lap of the sun, a small crew of top blokes set off on an awesome mini adventure in Auckland’s wild west. To time the tide we set off at a gentlemanly hour and our crew included Cosmo and @nferigo on the flat bars, Big @gwatttt and Adrian on the gravel bikes and of course your two favourite blokes. The first hilly slog out to Huia, is broken up by some nice walking path gravel along Exabition drive after you leave Titirangi. With a taster of the fun to come when the road turns to gravel on the climb over to Whatapu. From the car park, the next kilometre or so consists of very much borderline rideable soft sand as you make your way through the dunes to the water but my god is it worth it. Still only 40km from the CBD you’re riding on hard packed sand along the beautiful and wild west coast. It’s 12k down the beach to Karekare, most of which is fast and smooth but watch out for a few soft spots and based off Adrians experiences on 35mm tyres, 40mm or bigger would be highly recommended. This stretch however offers some of the best gram and new DP potential this side of a trip to Bali, so make the most of it. Upon running out of beach you again encounter some soft sand as you make your way back inland to Karekare. There are plenty of spots for a picnic and to sink a couple quiet ones by the river, an opportunity we made the most of. The Lycra clad birthday boy was presented a gift in the form of a @garageproject Growler which, dispassionately he failed to crack into meaning Bloke 1 continued to cart a kilo of beer through the Waitaks in a bar bag. After your snacks and refreshments, it’s straight into the slog up Lone Kauri road, but soon enough you’re back on Piha road then Scenic drive. It’s basically downhill all the way home (or to the pub for this crew) from here, so enjoy the decent back to Tits and be sure to search out some wifi to start uploading your quality content. All in all, not our longest day on a bike but with a great group it sure ranks up there in best days on a bike. #coupleablokes - @coupleablokes on Instagram

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS . . . Last week a trio of ELBOWZ riders went to Indiana to race possibly the ONLY crit in the country right now. With a $5k purse, there was a solid turnout. The race split with a group of 10 riders that eventually lapped the field. We controlled the race the entire time and I was set up PERFECTLY for the win. AND YES I BROKE 40MPH. I’ve never got to win a race in front of my dad, AND THAT WAS WORTH MORE THAN THE MONEY. And I got to see some longtime bubs like @codiddy, probably the strongest man in the Midwest. I miss racing so much, and I was so stoked to at least get this win in for the season.
