These past two months have been nonstop. We spent close to a month in Vegas helping to take care of my amazing mother (pictures) with a friendly reminder to be happy. I’m so thankful for my wife’s loving care for my parent’s. We took a trip that we have wanted to take for nearly four years! Camping in Yellowstone. It did not disappoint & the deer loved @marleej_33’s cooking (don’t worry - we didn’t really feed them). Marlee started PA school. So cool. Another long dream realized. We spent time with great friends, outdoors, watching basketball & trying to make the most of it. Biggest lesson: just go do things. Don’t wait for stuff to happen. See, when I was growing my business in the first year I kept getting wrapped up in the how. How was I going to nail down marketing? How was I going to grow my social media following? How was I going to be confident on sales calls? How was I going to have multiple revenue streams? How was I going to leave my job? How was I going to make six figures in the first year? If you know me, you know I struggle to control my face😳 . It’s pretty expressive and way ahead of my brain trying to filter my response🤭 . So when another consultant said they “weren’t allowed to use holistic methods in their practice” I REALLY had to control it . Like—what the hell?!🤯 . We have the same licensure—how is that possible?!🤔 . Then it hit me! . They were using the generic, stereotypical definition of holistic approaches🙄 . And I feel that holistic medicine and western medicine are BOTH to blame😏 . Both have pushed the other into little boxes and created what it SHOULD look like without thinking about what it COULD look like😝 . Because here’s the deal- . Holistic means using movement to relieve stress and potentially reduce blood pressure❤️ . It means trying meditation to help reduce anxiety💆🏻‍♀️ . It means looking at someone’s diet to see if it’s supporting gut health and how it affects their mood—there is evidence that there’s a direct link🥦🥑 . It means evaluating sleep to see if we can affect energy levels, clarity, focus as well as help reduce depression and headaches😴 . It means looking at the person in front of you from HEAD TO TOE and looking at their physical, mental and emotional well-being💞 . OF COURSE YOU CAN DO THAT-and I’d argue most practitioners do🤪 . We just have created two destructive definitions that fit our comfort zones . Some Western medicine providers think it’s all about oils and hippy dippy stuff and aren’t willing to open up their concept of healthy❌ . And some holistic practitioners make people feel shameful about using medication-which is BS❌ . But there’s this really beautiful place in between—and that’s where I like to sit👏🏻 . Because it opens up options for YOU💯 . You get to decide what options you want to try to heal and get healthy🥰 . It’s freaking empowering when all the options are placed in front of you, youre educated and guided to see what works . today is sunday, it feels as though the past few days have been years, that what i was doing and worrying about 10 days ago seems like a lifetime ago. we have gone through every emotion and i think my brain is done, it’s at its max. thursday we were told that our town, our home, had less than 30 mins. i stood there shaking, crying to jeremy. i felt the loss- our home, my garden, our trees, our little slice of heaven 🌲 i thought back to tuesday night when my parents (here visiting for two days) drove back into the evacuation zone with me and i sat there replaying in my mind what i grabbed, didn’t grab, forgot, chose to leave, and let me tell you- in that emotional rushed moment, it’s hard. nothing makes sense. and then standing outside, before driving away- it’s a surreal feeling knowing that you may not ever see home again. see that box that has the few baby items i’ve carefully packed away and saved all these years. see the couch where i snuggled every single one of my babies during those early sleepless fussy nights and prayed over fevered brows. see the table where we have prayed, broken bread, and laughed together as a family during so many meals. see the lego creations carefully saved on logan’s top closet shelf. the pinkalicious book we have read so many times i could recite it and has been taped together on more pages than not. the coupon book lissa made me for mother’s day. the drawing that ben made of our family. the note that i saved from jeremy from when we were dating. i stood there last tuesday, for just a moment, closing my pink door, and god held my heart- it’s just stuff. my memories stay in my heart. my family is safe. god was with me in that moment speaking peace to my heart. that was what i held onto. • continued in the comments • - @blushbyvievebeauty on Instagram

If you know me you know Im a dork when it comes to spreadsheets, project planning and reading instructions. This is a picture of me showing off the spreadsheet I created to track my windows and measurements for my custom blinds order, to allow me to cross reference once they arrived. And guess what?.... it made the install way easy. Each set of blinds were labeled with the measurements so I could easily check my sheet and get them to their right window. No guess work. Do you ever feel like the more that people work to be healthy or the more obsessive they get about food and health, the less healthy they are?⁠ ⁠ .⁠ ⁠ Or the more people diet down, workout really hard, restrict or yo-yo, the HARDER it is for them to keep the weight off and be happy in their skin?⁠ ⁠ .⁠ ⁠ Its this cruel, miserable, vicious, stressful cycle that I decided to get out of a few years ago.⁠ ⁠ .⁠ ⁠ I was super lean while eating keto and felt unstoppable running on absolute adrenaline- from the outside people probably thought I had my s**t together.⁠ ⁠ .⁠ ⁠ I had convinced myself that I was disciplined and it was the best I had ever felt yet I was snappy, irritable, addicted to exercise, not sleeping well, mentally exhausted and my hair was falling out.⁠ ⁠ .⁠ ⁠ Not to mention I was taking a bajillion supplements- supplements for stress, supplements for sleep, supplements for hormones.⁠ ⁠ .⁠ ⁠ Its interesting how when I shifted my focus to nourishing instead of restricting, befriending instead of warring, listening instead of denying and building up instead of breaking down, my health did a 180.⁠ ⁠ .⁠ ⁠ Yes, I was softer, slower, had a few more rolls, was less productive, less uptight and a little more jiggly, but oh man did I feel SO much better and LIVE so much better.⁠ ⁠ .⁠ ⁠ I started to understand that life is a journey- a marathon, not a sprint and I have my whole life to work on building the body I want without destroying the body I have in the process.⁠ ⁠ .⁠ ⁠ Whats the rush? If you want to go crazy, smudge a little black or brown soft pencil liner lightly on the outer corners of your upper & bottom lid. Smudging the line with a soft brown and or copper eyeshadow, gives it a more natural lived in feel. Some dry shampoo & a few loose beach waves with the curling iron are a quick way to freshen up your hair for a summer look, but if you’re looking for a super quick fix, a fun hat always works – again something that FEELS GOOD. It’s been a year since I was discharged from intensive eating disorder treatment. A year since I hit publish on a blog where I opened up about a battle I’d been waging for 20 years. A year since I felt like I got a new lease on life. A year since I finally felt like I could be me - ALL of me. . And what a year it’s been. . I wish I could say it’s been all filled with sunshine and puppies and unicorns farting rainbows. At some points, it has been. At other points, it’s been some of the hardest moments in my life. . Surprisingly, food has been the easy part. The hard part has been the stuff I didn’t expect: the things that happen when you take away your trusted coping mechanism that served you for so long. . But for all the hard stuff, I remind myself that, for the first time in so many years, I’ve actually been living, and not just existing. And I know, more than anything, it’s worth it. I woke up a few nights on the John Muir Trail + started crying in my sleeping bag ... feeling mixed emotions of relief, excitement + a little bit of fear because of this book. I’ve worked so freaking hard with passion + purpose ... and it’s almost here! For me, writing a book during Covid was an absolute blessing ... while the world was encompassed in pandemics + all of the things that came with it, I chose to write without reservation. What did I have to lose? We are changing + shifting in this world at lightening speed. There’s never been a better time to speak TRUTH without hesitancy, and so I did, sharing things in my book that only my closest friends + family members know about. And then ... (LoL) ... floodgates opened in the middle of the night while sleeping under stars + in calm air on the JMT. “Oh my God, my secrets are no longer my secrets. And my story is no longer only my story.” Opening my phone, I began reading past journal notes while writing my current thoughts. That’s when I came across this: “The lens we use to view others doesn’t have to be through the lens of which they view us.” Yes-WOW. So true! Reading those words was everything. And so I’d like to use this experience to share a gentle, loving reminder with all of you: If someone chooses to view your story or life through a judgmental lens, this does not mean you need to be judgmental of them. How you choose to live your life ... or heal in your life ... or move on in your life should only be a reflection of your needs, wants + desires in life. Instead, someone judging you offers a unique opportunity to practice deeper compassion + empathy for the other person. Which ultimately, I promise, will come full circle and provide compassion + empathy to you, too. ❤️ Always stand in love. You can preorder my book in my handle. And tomorrow ... U N A S H A M E D The concept of being unashamed. Unashamed in my faith, my personality, my hobbies, my family, my friends, my job, my looks, my testimony, and overall who I was created to be. For years, I would get around a certain group of people and when asked about my belief in Jesus, I would sort of shake it off and say “yeah I’m Christian, but I still have fun”, or if I would get around my Christian friends, I would say “oh yes Jesus is my everything!”. Being two faced prevented me from truly experiencing the fullness of Christ in my life. Over these past few months, I have learned to live unashamed of my faith. If people choose to judge me, that’s on them, I won’t trip over what is behind me. I have chosen a life of living for God, and sharing His word for others to experience the same fullness I have. Don’t be ashamed to talk about God, be ashamed not to. Until Jesus is enough for you, no thing or person ever will be. You have the opportunity to be the reason someone believe that God is good, so take it, no question. You have nothing to lose, but everything to gain if you learn to not be ashamed of who you are in Christ. So go, now is the time. Not tomorrow, not next week, nor next year, but now. Live your life pleasing to God and not the world. Love others so radically they wonder why. “Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. What an amazing race and day. It was the perfect setting for my first @ironmantri. Conditions were beautiful but challenging, a strong climb on the bike into a very hot run. Things did not go as planned, had a bike crash and some major cramping, little medic attention at the end, but fine now. Really want to thank @staceygalbut and my kids for allowing me to train the last 9 months and to all of my friends completely annoyed with this whole process and want Fat JG back 🤣. Most likely, by science, I should do it not so fast in my workouts, but it’s so easy to count as 40 seconds per half-lap, so I consider 40-sec as my “new normal” and speed up on the last 200m 1000 за 3.20 это следующие магический цифры в моей голове после неделя-160 6x1000/200 - это наверное самая известная тренировка от Tinman (иногда не 6, а 5 встречается в статьях). Для меня за последние пару месяцев она стала показателем моей формы, стартов пока не было, а такие крейсерские интервалы я бегаю регулярно, раз в две недели точно, да и раньше по 1000 бегала (и 10 раз и 12, вот 15 еще не делала). По науке 1000 необходимо бежать так, чтобы в таком темпе можно было минут 20-30 продержаться (ключевое слово: critical velocity). На моем примере это 3:27-3:32, рассчитывается на основе моей 5-ки за 16:44. Я, откровенно говоря, бегаю их по принципу “ну пять километров по 3:20 я же бегала” и “40 секунд на 200 метров очень удобно отсекать”. А еще я бегала 1000 по стадиону, как марафон: начать чуть медленнее, поймать темп и работать до финиша. Том это поменял, теперь я делаю 800 метров по 40 секунд, а последние 200 метров ускоряюсь. Бежать я стала быстрее и 40 секунд - теперь мое новое нормальное состояние. Когда на практике получается ускоряться после, как-то 40 секунд сразу превращаются в обыденность. a year and a half ago... or so (who knows what time is anymore)... i took a pregnancy test and it was positive. and i took another one from a different brand and it was positive too! i got the YES + and the double lines... the stupid smiley face! i remember looking in the mirror thinking “oh shit i’m going to be a mom!” naturally i cried happy tears! back then, we hadn’t been trying. i didn’t know ovulation predictor kits existed, i didn’t own an ava watch. 🤷🏽‍♀️ fast forward, the studio i had been teaching at back then was having their grand opening and i was scheduled to teach. i woke up that morning i was bleeding. not spotting, but i had bled through my pj’s. i wanted to call out, but i also didn’t want to think about it. I had to keep my mind busy... so, i taught. the night before i was so nervous to teach, because i was still fairly new at teaching and this was a new group of people. but that morning i felt dead inside. i could feel myself bleeding through my pants despite the “super.” the class was over and i can’t even remember how that class went. i honestly didn’t care. i went home and showered, bled more. stayed in bed all day, continued to bleed. had to call the doctor’s office that monday to cancel my prenatal appointment. let’s fast forward again. we put ivf cycle #1 on hold and have one frozen little embaby waiting for us. i had my ultrasound for my second cycle yesterday and everything looks great. we’re ready to go! i start my shots again on saturday. i have 19 resting follicles (or 20... i wasn’t really listening 🤦🏽‍♀️). but I had 23 last cycle. don’t worry, i’m staying positive. i’m not sad despite all the dark stuff i said earlier. that was more of a reflection. it was a dark time and i was depressed... back then! but, i’ve fully surrendered to God and know that he has already written out my entire life. what I am going through is his plan for me. so give me all the shots again. give me all the dates with Wanda. give it all to me ✨ • • • • • • #ivf #ivfjourney #ivfsuccess #ivfwarrior #ivfcommunity #ivfsupport #ivfgotthis #ivficsi #ttc #ttccommunity #ttcjourney #ttcsupport #ttctribe #ttcsisters #ttcaftermiscarriage #ttcafterloss #infertility - @a.ileen_hunt on Instagram

The Sunday scaries are back! ⁣ I am officially back at work full time starting today! I came home from the city Friday, March 13 (Friday the 13th, should’ve known) thinking I’d be home for 2 weeks...here I am almost 7 months later. ⁣ ⁣ I’m an assistant to a personal stylist at @bergdorfs. My job is so hands on that it was very difficult to work from home a lot of the time. When the store started opening up end of June, I wasn’t comfortable coming back yet and decided to furlough myself. It was a difficult decision but ultimately the best one for me. Now, 2 months later I definitely feel better about going back in. ⁣ ⁣ I’m not going to lie, I’ve absolutely LOVED being home and not really having to work that much. I’m so thankful to still have a job but after not working for so long, it’s definitely a mindset I have to get back into. ⁣ ⁣ Plus, I’ve had SO much extra time and energy to put into this account & really focus on connecting with you guys. Now that I’m back at my full time job, I can’t share every second of my day. Have to refind that balance! ⁣ ⁣ No surprise here - the hardest part of all is leaving home. I’ve gotten so settled back into life at home, having Brett down the road & being able to do and cook as I please (& my couch. Ugh). ⁣ ⁣ Here’s to navigating a new normal at work and getting settled into an old routine. ⁣ ⁣ P.S don’t worry, I pass about 5 @starbucks on my walk to work.
