Stoked to have caught my FIRST white marlin yesterday with @carolina_gentleman_fishing and @capt.claydgaff ! About an hour later, right at sunset we hooked and I caught a NICE blue marlin into dark. I was recently encouraged in @asoulcenter Astro Ceres to celebrate the transitions of the sun, so in honor of today’s Fall Equinox, I decided to take time to write a letter to myself and open it one year from today. This grew out of a conversation @a.blue.flame and I had recently about how much our conversations can change in a year’s time—a letter being a great way to chart our progress, set intentions for the future or honor our efforts/grief/energies/etc. If this resonates with you at all, please feel free to join us by taking time to write yourself a letter and, if you’d like, I will personally mail it to you one year from now. Hi hi! Seeing small n’ colorful pieces of plastic along our beaches have become the new regular and although I try to do my part to keep our beaches clean, I have recently had a strong urge to do something more. Over the past week, I have collected plastic along our shores (which was way too easy might I add) and decided to make “art” out of it. I know it’s only a couple hundred pieces of plastic but I hope it encourages you all to be creative in ways to help our mama earth 🌏 Last thing~ I recently attended a beach cleanup with @sustainablecoastlineshawaii and they shared some words I think are so so so important : “Our main goal is to not only pick up the trash we have in front of us but to reduce our INITIAL waste” and that is something I will take with me. What a week it has been. Yesterday our team hit the largest revenue week in team history . A current team member had one hell of a freaking killer week and I couldn’t be happier for her. I trained a new team member that I could cry of excitement of how excited I am to watch her grow and succeed . Our fearless leader was nominated yet again for another well deserved award. And I personally hit my largest day of revenue , ever. 🙏🏽 ✨ Yesterday I ended my day in a bathing suit , poolside in the sunshine, with one of my best friends (and our pretty awesome guys 😏)full of so much dang gratitude. Reminding myself of all the positives in the midst of such a chaotic time. I know how uncertain times may be . I know everyone is experiences different shifts in transitions during this time , but let’s take a second to remember the wins we are experiencing - no matter how big or how small they may be . Our family, our friends, being able to wake up healthy and see another day. A simple shift in mindset may just make a major shift in your days. I juggle between a lot of mediums now. Going back and forth from Watercolors to Acrylics to Alcohol inks to even Gouache! I do not care what this portrays about me as an Artist or for my small Art business. It may come across as my lack of perfecting a medium or even as somebody who is totally undecided in what she likes/good at. The only thing that I ever will be worried about is chasing COLOR. In. Any. Form. . And I hope as an Artist, you are too. I hope you are not giving in to that pressure of finding your own style or perfecting that one medium that you think youre good at. I hope youre not restricting your Artistic freedom by adhering to these limitations that we created for ourselves to makes ourselves stand out. Because it doesnt matter. You cannot find your style.
