The electronics partly react to the harp and are crafted live by composer Ricardo Romaneiro, the harp part is improvised by Mélanie Genin on patterns and cells suggested by the composer. Mozart K 23 transifguré is part of a 1h show: Nomozart, directed by choreographer and former ballet dancer Maged Mohamed for Lucerne Festival Young performance. Although the choice of the music material for the entire show was intentionally left up to the six instrumentalists, Maged Mohammed was very specific in asking Mélanie to use the slow movement of Mozart K23 as the final act of the show. He requested that she adapt it for solo harp and insert a contemporary music middle section of her design. This musical choice is directly inspired by Petite Mort by Jiri Kylian, one of the most iconic and powerful ballets of the XX century using both K23 and K21 slow movements. The redeveloped Her Majestys Theatre is pretty badass. Opening in 1913, it is the only original Tivoli theatre facade still standing in Australia.
